Chapter 3
Chapter 3; Her past
The rising sun cast a rosy hue across the morning sky. The area was illuminated by sunlight's golden rays. Gigi dragged her worn-out body to the restroom.
She got up at six in the morning and went for her daily run before heading to work. She had been following this program for four months.
The most delighted coworker, Fabrice, rushed to her as soon as she exited the elevator when she arrived at work. She spun around as he hugged her.
As usual, Gigi would giggle while keeping her eyes closed to prevent vertigo. When he helped her stand again, he kissed her on the cheek and said, "Graceful morning, Gigi."
"Graceful morning, Fabrice," she responded, attempting to mimic his upbeat voice, but failing because nothing these days made her happy.
When she got to her cubicle, she noticed a bouquet of dark roses.'' I suppose this is an error, ''she said as she cast a glance about. " I never get flowers. Who has these?"
Her coworker at the adjacent cubicle glanced over in shock. " Black roses. They should be thrown away since they are unlucky. "
Her eyes were filled with resentment. If the flowers were a harbinger of bad luck, she hugged them even closer; having them around wouldn't be a bad thing. She had already had too much bad luck; perhaps the roses and her misfortune will bring her good fortune.
At least it was a gift. It made her feel happy that someone gifted her on her birthday.
Gigi set it on her desk and sat down to finish the job she had started the day before.
Later, Cindy arrived with a file and placed it on Gigi's desk. "All of these consumers are unhappy with our new dishwasher. You have to persuade them not to request a refund. "
Gigi's response was a simple nod.
When Cindy looked around after getting no response, then she saw the flowers before saying, "Eww. shady roses Who will harm you in this way, Gigi? Nobody desires such roses. "
Gigi's trademark grin spread even wider as she said, "I guess we have something in common." she winked at the black roses.
" At least a gift card was included. " Cindy mocked as she left, "Perhaps this is the grim reaper's death invite. "
A gift card?
When Gigi pulled out the card, it was empty.
It made sense now. The man who claimed the fetus sent it. Most likely, he was reminding her. She had completely forgotten about it, and she was too afraid of what happened last night to discuss it with Mr. Square.
Why did she do that?
Unexpectedly, an SMS notification appeared on her phone at this very moment. It seemed to be mms when she picked it up. It contained a picture of the individual and his data.
She spoke softly: "Graham Grande, a 33-year-old CEO of GG Design who became someone after rising from nothing. His family is not discussed much because he is a very private person. Reputed to have a granddad whose visage is still a mystery. "
The data was useless. It kept congratulating him and listing all of his accomplishments.
'Sky, I don't need to know this. What I want to know is why a self-made billionaire like himself would suddenly claim this child as his.' She muttered angrily.
Where would she look for a lawyer?
And with what money?
Only a few weeks into her job, Gigi was about to receive her first paycheck. She had to figure out how to pay for a lawyer.
She would require Mr. Square's assistance, but he is unhelpful. She discovered this the hard way.
Until the timer ran off, the clock continued to run. Every lawyer she spoke with was opposed to an agreed-upon future payment. She was going crazy over it.
"Aren't you going home, Gigi?" As he moved a brown box toward the elevator, Fabrice yelled.
Gigi went after him. " I am. "
Fabrice allowed her to enter the elevator ahead of him. Her heart was warmed by this noble action. The bastards in her life were ignorant on how to handle women.
When Fabrice covered her nose with a handkerchief, she was able to stop thinking about those things. He knocked her out with the bottom of a revolver despite her attempts to fight him off with her nails.
Gigi surrendered to his embrace. She was put in a black bag that he had taken from the box. He then sealed the bag with a zipper, leaving a little opening for oxygen.
He dragged baggage as the elevator opened.
The lobby asked while taking a swig of his Red Bull, "Fabrice getting the trash?"
" I concluded that I should assist Mrs. Meyer because she works so hard,'' Fabrice tossed his hat while grinning widely.
" Keep going, Fabrice. Be yourself. " The lobby man smiled admiringly.
As soon as he carried her body outside, a white van stopped, and he loaded her into the boot. In that manner, they departed.
Gigi started waking up in the car. Her head began to hurt severely. As she calls out for aid in a hushed voice, Gigi hugged her stomach. "Please help me. Please let me go, Fabrice. What's the reason for this?
She abruptly heard a screeching noise that sounded like the van had lost control. She heard many rounds being fired. She banged her head, losing consciousness as the automobile sped up carelessly.
Gigi remembered the beginning of everything in a dream-like state.
After her graduation celebration, that is. Her American godmother came back to rejoice with her.
She informed Gigi's parents of the possibility of her traveling abroad there. Naturally, the Fonji family was thrilled to hear this.
Most scholars wanted to leave Africa for America in search of better chances, and they considered their daughters to be lucky.
They traveled by sea to Mexico before sneaking into America.
Unfortunately, Gigi's Godmother left her after she was apprehended by the police at the Mexico–America border after crystal meth was found in her backpack.
Then she realized her Godmother was using her as bait to get drugs into America.
After a 45-minute trial in which she was found guilty, she was later jailed.
Gigi believed her lifeline had been cut off. Even her family in Cameroon was cut off from communication.
She was cornered by a policewoman who offered her a job one morning after she finished her chores.
"Do you want to get out of her, Gigiana?"
" Yes. Of course, " she giddily replied
"I know a man, but he needs a simple favor."
Her life is currently in hell because of that one small favor.
She first met Mr. Square that evening after the police snuck her into Nashville from the prison.
He spoke with kindness and was kind. She accepted his promise of freedom in exchange for serving as a surrogate.
She was given full assurance of her release after giving birth, at which point she was allowed to rejoin her family in Cameroon.
She was now carrying the baby of an unknown man while riding in the back of a vehicle with an unknown man to an unknown destination.
Graham entered the picture, which caused everything to become more problematic. She questioned whether possibly telling the truth.
It all made no sense.
