chapter 6
~Lucien~
Waking up to the chirping of birds, I stretched as I squinted my eyes open. Inhaling deeply, I made my way out of bed as I walked to the balcony.
Enjoying the feel of the wind on my skin, a warm smile played on my lips. Looking at the scroll from last night on the table, I walked towards it.
Sigh!
Breaking the seal, I opened the contents of the scroll as I read through. I couldn't believe my eyes. He really asked me for this? Enraged, I threw the scroll aside as I made my way to the dressing room.
Looking at the line of arranged clothes, I couldn't decide what to wear. This was unusual, maybe it's cause of my bad mood.
"Wooohooooo!"
A cheer came from outside. Who could be cheering so loudly this early? Could it be Freya? Walking towards my balcony, I turned my gaze towards her room balcony.
There she was. Dressed in a silk nightwear which hugged her curves vehemently, her thick dark hair cascaded over her shoulders in curls, her sapphire blue eyes glistened under the morning sun. She was beautiful.
"Mate!" My wolf cried from within.
"No, she's not our mate, she's just a guest in the house," I responded softly.
Shaking my head, I made my way back into my room. I had lots of work to do. I couldn't be distracted.
Knock!
The knock on my door interrupted my thoughts as I scanned through the neatly arranged hung clothes.
"Yes."
The door swung open as Gabriel made his way inside.
"Good morning sire," he greeted as he placed the tea tray on the side table.
"I'm not hungry," I stated coldly.
"But why sire?" He asked curious.
I never missed morning tea made by Gabriel. He made the best black tea. Exactly like my mum used to make. He was surprised when I refused as this was my first time refusing.
"I don't know," I responded softly.
Gabriel's eyes drifted to the opened scroll, he let out a sigh as he returned his gaze to me, "Sure? Master Raphael's at it again I presume?"
I nodded slightly making my way to the bed.
Gabriel stood as he watched me in silence.
Exhaling sharply, he made his way to the dressing room, "I'll lay out your clothes sire, you should shower quickly," he stated.
Getting up from the bed, I took sips of tea before making my way to the bathroom. The cold water cascaded over my body as waves of relaxation flooded my veins.
Emerging from the shower, I made my way into the room. Gabriel was no where to be seen. Maybe he left while I was bathing. Looking at the wine and black combination laid out on the bed for me, I dried my hair swiftly.
Sliding into the cotton clothes, I made my way out of my room, through the halls. Making my way to my private room for my normal routine. Unlocking the door, I made my way in. Caressing my mum's portrait, I exhaled sharply.
"Good morning mother," I said with a warm smile as my gaze fixed on her portrait.
Looking outside, I placed a peck on her portrait as I dusted the shelf swiftly.
"I'll be back soon," I stated making my way out of the room.
Descending the stairs, the sweet scent of Jade's cooking filled my nose. Unconsciously, I hastened my steps down the stairs.
Making my way to the dining, I was stunned by the sight in front of me. My jaw dropped to the floor as I scanned Freya from top to bottom.
Draped in a beautiful emerald green dress which matched her flawless fair skin, her thick dark hair cascaded down her shoulders. Drifting my eyes from her face to her body, her dress had two slits on her sides exposing her fair skin.
"Mate!" My wolf yelled.
Heat boiled from within me. I couldn't help but drool at the sight in front of me. She was gorgeous. I wanted her. My fangs emerged suddenly as I found myself taking unconscious steps towards her.
No! Control yourself Lucien!
Approaching her from the side, I looked at her with widened eyes as I scanned her body. Damn! She was more attractive closer up. She looked at me with a puzzled expression as she touched her face. Was I too awkward?
"What are you wearing?" I asked coldly arching an eyebrow.
Surprised at my question, she responded, "A green dress." The sarcasm in her voice evident.
"I know it's a green dress, why is it exposing your skin?" I asked coldly, the fury within me simmering.
Rolling her eyes, she asked, "What's wrong with it?"
The audacity! Taking measured steps, I ate up the distance between us. My hands made their way to her slender waist as I cupped her chin compelling her to meet my gaze.
"Go lower!" My wolf barked.
My hands found their way to the opening of her slit. Moving my hands lower, I felt her skin. It was soft, warm, delicate. Seeing as she swallowed hard, my eyes focused on her neck.
The blood flowing through, my fangs itched to come out as my wolf screamed, "Mark mate! Mark mate!"
Feeling my fangs emerge, I leaned towards her ear, my gaze fixed on her neck. Gulping down hard, I whispered in her ear, "Are you trying to seduce me?"
The closeness of our bodies left a burning sensation within me as I craved her body under mine.
She shoved me away quickly jolting me back to the present. What was going on? What's she doing to me?
"Seduce you? Never in a million years!" She responded coldly tossing her hair to the side.
A dark chuckle escaped my lips. Taking measured steps I approached her slowly as she took steps backwards until she reached the wall.
"If I ever see you dressed this way, I'll rip your clothes stich by stich till you have nothing left to wear," I said coldly.
Turning around, I departed to the library. My mind flooded with the feel of her skin on mine. I couldn't fandom what this feeling was, but if she planned on seducing me, it sure worked as hell.
