Chapter 7

~Freya~

Holding my throat, I massaged gently as I took a seat shuddering. How dare he! He said to stay away from him yet comes close to me? Of course, what could I expect from a man-whore!

Heat emanated from within me as I remembered the graze of his hands against my thighs. Why this heat? I adjusted my dress multiple times trying to comfort my unease.

"Do you need anything Luna," Jade asked approaching me swiftly.

"No thank you," I replied softly.

Taking a spoonful of the dish in front of me, my eyes widened as I savored the taste in my mouth. It was nothing like the food I ate in my home. I gobbled the food quickly stuffing my face with different delicacies.

Eating to my fill, I took a walk round the mansion exploring different rooms. My eyes widened with astonishment as I walked through the lavishly decorated halls. I couldn't help but wonder how old the mansion was.

A cold shiver ran down my spine as I remembered the stories of countless bloodshed in the mansion. I felt a knot in my stomach as I stopped in my tracks.

Before me was a door. Huge, black and adorned with pointy thorns. It had a devil-like symbol on it. Fear gripped me as I swallowed hard. My curiousity peaked as I strode forward. My heart pounding as I came closer to the door.

"Luna!" Jade yelled from a distance. Her high pitched voice startling me as I yelped out in fear leaping through the air.

She rushed towards me swiftly, her hands placed on my back as she caressed me slowly.

"I'm sorry Luna, I was just surprised to find you here," she said. The fear in her voice evident as she helped me straighten my back.

Curious I asked, "What's behind that door?"

I could see the fear evident on Jade's face, like she was in some kind of trans.

"I don't know Luna, but what I do know is anytime Prince Lucien sees someone go close, he eliminates them, not caring who it is," Jade responded, her voice trembling.

I couldn't help but wonder what secrets lied beneath the door. Could it be his ritual room? Was it the heads of his victims? My mind raced with different thoughts of what laid beneath the huge door.

"Let's go," Jade urged as she pulled me towards the opposite direction.

Leaving the eerie hall, we made our way to the garden. It was a beautiful sight. Red and pink roses decorated the sidewalks, the walking path was covered with tiles which glistened under the sun. The grass, perfectly cut and healthy. Taking off my shoes, I placed my bare foot under onto the grass.

It was warm and soft beneath my feet tickling my senses softly. I leaped around the garden as I danced around happily. I wasn't allowed this much freedom at home as I was considered a bad omen, here I was free. Being married to Lucien was hell but I was thrilled with the beautiful scenery that filled the place.

As I twirled, basking in the warmth of the sun, a familiar voice called out to me stopping me in my tracks, "Luna."

Turning my gaze towards the direction of the voice, I was stunned, it was Gabriel, the butler.

He looked nothing like he did last night. He was much more handsome and seemed taller. Maybe I didn't look well, I wondered.

"Yes," I responded softly.

He stretched out his hands revealing a gift box. His action taking me by surprise.

"Prince Lucien sends this as a birthday gift and wishes you a happy birthday," he said swiftly.

I was bewildered. A present? For me? This was the first time I received a birthday wish much less a present. Accepting the gift from Gabriel, he bowed slightly as he departed.

My stomach fluttered with butterflies as I unwrapped the gift. My jaw dropped to the floor as I opened the box. A beautiful black diamond set was revealed. It had beautiful gold patterns on the side and a heart shaped diamond pendant.

My cheeks reddened as a blush crept on my face. I couldn't help but take off the jewelry I had on. Taking out the jewelry from the box, I wore the beautiful heart shaped diamond necklace round my neck.

Who knew the devil's son was kind. Maybe he's not as vile as they thought he was. Who knows, maybe a kind person hid beneath the shadows of his dark facade.

Leaping with joy, I made my way back into the mansion. Ascending the stairs, I walked through the halls making my way to my room. Arriving at my door, I couldn't help but sneak a peek at his door.

I unconsciously found myself walking towards his door. I wanted to thank him for the gift. I suddenly stopped in my tracks as the words he told me on our wedding day replayed in my ears.

Sigh!

Oh well, it's not that bad, he'll see my gratitude during dinner. I turned back, motioning myself to my room. Closing the door behind me, I threw myself to the bed as I drifted off to sleep.

...

The cold wind grazed my skin waking me up from my slumber. I squinted my eyes open as I stretched my hands. Looking out the window, I noticed it was dark outside.

"I slept in all day?" I muttered to myself.

Getting up from my bed, I made my way to the bathroom as I had my bath quickly. Emerging, I made my way to the dressing room. Scanning through the rows of arranged clothes, I picked out the red silk dress which had a slit on the left side.

Sliding into the dress, I let my hair cascade around my shoulders in waves. Taking one last glance at my reflection, I exhaled sharply as i made my way to the dining for dinner.

As I walked through the quiet halls, the beautiful scenery outside caught my attention. I couldn't help but divert into the garden. The moon light shone dimly in the garden, the scenery was like that of a fairytale.

Looking at the sky, flutters of butterfly filled my stomach as I gazed at the stars which nestled in the sky.

Crash!

My thoughts were interrupted by the loud noise. My heart sunk as I turned my gaze towards the mansion.

"Argh!"

A loud cry came from inside. Narrowing my eyes towards the direction of the sound, it was from Lucien's room. Was he ok?
