Chapter 8: A Congratulatory Visit!

"W-what?" Old Mrs. Adams' face instantly froze. Mr. Robinson was at the door asking to see them! He had come to their doorstep - this was a big shot in Hiphia. While the Atkinson Group was the most powerful in the entire southwest region, he was their man in charge of Hiphia operations. Such an important figure was not someone the Adams family could easily schmooze with.

Flustered, she said, "Quick, quick! Invite him in!"

"Wait a minute!" Jamie suddenly called out. He continued, "Grandma, Mr. Robinson isn't usually someone you can just meet whenever you want. Now that he's suddenly shown up at our door, aren't you worried he might be here to cause trouble?"

"Cause trouble?" Old Mrs. Adams suddenly remembered something and immediately turned her gaze to Georgia.

Jamie nodded. "Georgia rode a motorcycle to see Mr. Robinson. Not only did this embarrass our family, but it also showed disrespect to Mr. Robinson! Treating Mr. Robinson with such contempt will surely lead to punishment! Without a doubt, Mr. Robinson must be here to deal with Georgia."

Not only Old Mrs. Adams, but even Georgia believed this explanation! She gulped, her heart racing, unsure of what to do.

Old Mrs. Adams was furious, her brows furrowed in anger. She snorted and pointed at Georgia, saying angrily, "Just you wait. If this really is about that incident, you'll see how I deal with you when I get back."

With that, Old Mrs. Adams walked out, followed by Jamie, Layla, and the others.

Georgia stood in the hall, her mind blank. Could Mr. Robinson really be so petty as to come cause trouble over something like this? If so, she had been truly foolish earlier, naively believing she had secured the contract.

Soon, Old Mrs. Adams returned with Jamie and the others, all wearing welcoming smiles as they approached the door. Beckett stood at the entrance of the Adams family home with several subordinates, a black Mercedes S-Class parked nearby.

"hello, Mr. Robinson! What brings you here today?" Old Mrs. Adams greeted him with a fawning smile.

Beckett scanned the crowd, not seeing Georgia. He asked as politely as possible, "Is Miss Georgia here?"

Old Mrs. Adams let out a small gasp. Beckett's tone seemed polite, but she was sure there was a hidden edge to his smile. Thinking this, she quickly said, "She went out and hasn't returned yet. We don't know where she's gone."

Jamie hastily added, "That's right, we have no idea what she's up to these days."

Beckett's brow furrowed slightly. However, he had no desire for small talk with these people. He simply nodded and said, "I see. Well, when she returns, I'll come back to see her."

With that, Beckett turned and got into his car. He didn't even say another word to Old Mrs. Adams.

Old Mrs. Adams wanted to ask why he was looking for Georgia, but realizing it would be superfluous, she didn't dare inquire further.

Just a few minutes after Beckett's car had left, before Old Mrs. Adams and the others could even turn to go back inside, a commercial van pulled up to the Adams family villa. A man in his fifties stepped out. This man had a large gold tooth and was in the jewelry business, known as "William." As he got out of the car, he said with a beaming smile, "Congratulations, Mrs. Adams! My heartiest congratulations!"

Hearing William's voice, Old Mrs. Adams turned back with a bewildered look. She politely greeted him, "Hello, Mr. Johnston!"

William grinned, his gold tooth gleaming. He exclaimed, "Oh, Mrs. Adams, please just call me William. There's no need for 'Mr. Johnston' - that's far too formal!"

Old Mrs. Adams understood her family's social standing. William had at least several billion in assets, something a second-tier family like theirs couldn't compare to. She asked in confusion, "Mr. Johnston, you just congratulated us. May I ask what for?"

William smiled, "Mrs. Adams, are you deliberately keeping me in the dark? Even if you won't say it, I've received news that the Atkinson Group has confirmed the Adams family as their raw materials supplier. With this connection to the Atkinson Group, the Adams family will surely rise to become a first-tier family. I just saw Mr. Robinson's car leaving - tell me, did he personally come to deliver the contract?"

These words sent a shiver through Old Mrs. Adams. Just moments ago, she had been on pins and needles with Beckett, fearing he might punish her family. Now Mr. Johnston had brought such news, causing her expression to change dramatically.

She asked in surprise, "Mr. Johnston, is what you're saying true?"

William's expression suddenly shifted as he looked Old Mrs. Adams up and down. He said curiously, "Of course it's true. Wasn't Mr. Robinson just here to sign the contract with you?"

Before Old Mrs. Adams could respond in her excitement, William's phone rang. He answered while bidding farewell to Mrs. Adams and leaving the Adams family home. As he left, he didn't forget to offer one last congratulations to Old Mrs. Adams.
