Chapter 4: Command!
As soon as these words were spoken, everyone in the room was stunned!
The fool had once again uttered something astonishing.
Georgia looked at Kayden, feeling a mix of emotions she couldn't quite describe.
Tony was the first to recover, laughing, and said, "You fool, are you pretending to act in a TV show? Here, take this pocket money and go have fun!" As he spoke, Tony took out a one hundred note and handed it over.
Kayden raised his hand, took the money, and Tony laughed, saying, "Go on, buy some candy."
Suddenly, with a "swish," the hundred-dollar note was torn in half.
Kayden then threw the money in Tony's face and coldly said, "Get out!"
That one sentence sounded earth-shattering.
To Kayden, Tony was worth nothing. He couldn't be bothered to waste words on someone like Tony.
But being told off by a fool made Tony furious. Having served in the military, he could not stand such humiliation. He swung his fist at Kayden, but his punch was effortlessly caught by Kayden.
He tried to pull back, but couldn't, because Kayden's strength was astonishing.
Scarlett snapped out of her daze and yelled, "You fool, when did it become your turn to speak in this house?"
"Mom!" Georgia quickly stood up and said, "Tony, you should leave now!"
Tony, looking agitated, said, "Georgia, am I really not worth more than that fool to you?"
"Tony, don't listen to him. I think..." Scarlett tried to spoke.
"Mom, can you stay out of my business? Tony, please leave! We'll return all the gifts you gave us, just go!" By the end, Georgia was clearly upset.
At this point, Harvey also stood up, saying, "Tony, you should go back."
Scarlett wanted to say something, but Kayden had already pushed Tony aside hard.
Tony fell to the floor, gritting his teeth in anger, pointing at Kayden, and said, "Alright, you fool, how dare you lay a hand on me? Just you wait!"
Kayden said nothing, just watched Tony leave with a calm expression.
As soon as Tony left, Georgia quickly said, "Kayden, what are you doing? You can't hit people!"
Scarlett, fuming, pointed at Kayden and cursed, "You idiot, haven't you caused enough trouble for this family? Do you know how much ridicule we've endured because of you over the past three years?"
Kayden replied, "I know! But rest assured, no one will ever mock Georgia or your family again."
These words left Scarlett bewildered. Was this something a fool would say? In the past, all he ever said were nonsensical things she could not understand. What had changed today?
"Kayden, have you remembered something?" Georgia had noticed something was off with Kayden since yesterday.
Before Kayden could answer, Georgia's phone rang. It was Old Mrs. Adams calling.
"Grandma!"
Old Mrs. Adams' voice came through, "Georgia, gather the whole family and come to the meeting room in half an hour."
Ten minutes later, in the family meeting room.
"Georgia, why did you bring that fool here?" Old Mrs. Adams asked, looking at Kayden with disdain.
The Adams family siblings mocked, saying, "Grandma, if we don't keep an eye on him, he might jump off a building again."
"I think Georgia has developed feelings for this fool and can't bear to leave him."
"I can't understand what Mr. Scott is thinking, giving such gifts to a married woman."
Old Mrs. Adams glanced around and said, "Alright, everyone, quiet down."
They pursed their lips but stopped talking.
"It's good he's here. We can get the divorce done right away," Old Mrs. Adams said firmly.
Then, with a serious expression, she said, "The Atkinson family, the top family in the Southwest region, plans to develop the area in the North of the City. We want to seize the opportunity to provide materials for them. If we can get this opportunity, the Adams family will surely prosper."
"Grandma, how can we possibly get their attention?"
"Right, Grandma, there are many wealthy families in Hiphia. How could we have a chance against them?"
Old Mrs. Adams spoke earnestly, "That's why I gathered everyone here to discuss this. In the past, we might have had no chance, but things are different now."
Old Mrs. Adams looked kindly at Georgia Adams, adding, "Now, Georgia has made us proud. She can connect us with the right people. If Georgia marries Mr. Scott, our family will have strong backing. Securing this project will be a piece of cake."
In business, it was a rule that one generally did not compete with people from the region but rather seeks to please them.
Old Mrs. Adams continued, "Georgia, the future of our family depends on you. If you marry Mr. Scott, your contribution to the family will be enormous."
Scarlett, thinking about how her status in the family would rise if Georgia married Mr. Scott, couldn't help but feel excited.
She echoed, "Right, look at how far-sighted Grandma is. This is not just for your own good, but for the benefit of the entire family."
Layla Adams muttered enviously, "I can't believe Mr. Scott would be willing to marry a divorced woman."
"No! Grandma, I promised Grandpa I would take care of Kayden. If I break my promise for the family's benefit, I do not think Grandpa would be happy, even in the afterlife." This was the first time Georgia had ever defied her grandmother.
Old Mrs. Adams' face darkened, and she angrily said, "Your grandfather is dead. If he knew I was doing this for the Adams family, he would be thrilled. This is my decision! Today, you will divorce the fool and marry Mr. Scott soon."
For some reason, the mention of divorce caused a slight pain in Georgia's heart.
She shook her head firmly, saying, "No, Grandma!"
"This is not a discussion; it is a command!" Old Mrs. Adams exclaimed as she slammed the table and stood up.
Georgia trembled, looking up at Old Mrs. Adams, and said, "Grandma, if you want me to marry Mr. Scott just for this business deal, I'll find a way to secure it. I do not want to break my promise to Grandpa!"
With that, Georgia walked out of the Adams family meeting room!
