Chapter 3: Proposal!

He looked up, glanced at the three people in the house, then lowered his head and said coldly, "I'm tired. I'm going to sleep."

With that, he walked into the room.

Scarlett quickly called out, "Make sure you wake up early tomorrow and go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to finalize the divorce."

But Kayden ignored her and went straight into the room.

Georgia was stunned. Normally, if no one told Kayden to sleep, he would watch cartoons all night.

"Georgia, what's going on with Kayden?" Harvey also noticed something was wrong with Kayden.

Scarlett replied, "Who cares? The most important thing now is to get him and Georgia divorced!"

After Kayden went to the room for a while, Georgia also walked in.

By this time, Kayden was already asleep. She did not wake him or disturb him, and quietly got into bed.

They lived in the same room but not in the same bed. Kayden slept on a floor mat, and Georgia slept on the bed. There was a curtain between the bed and the mat, so they could not see each other while sleeping.

"Thank you!" Kayden's voice suddenly came through.

"Ah!" Georgia was startled but asked, "Are you talking to me?"

Kayden did not respond, and Georgia thought he must be talking in his sleep. She figured she was overthinking things.

She did not know that Kayden had already opened his eyes.

In this family, everyone treated Kayden like a dog, except for Georgia, who treated him like a human. Despite sometimes being impatient, she never despised him and even shared a room with him.

People outside mocked Georgia for marrying a fool and looked down on Kayden.

From today on, no one would mock her again because he was determined to make everyone who ever mocked her bow down and tremble at her feet!

Kayden silently swore in his heart that from now on, it was his turn to protect her!

Early the next morning, there was a knock on the door.

Scarlett opened it to find a handsome, well-dressed man standing outside.

"Mrs. Adams, hello."

It was Tony Scott, Georgia's high school classmate. After graduating, he joined the military in the South region, and after being discharged, he became the deputy captain in a district there. His family owned a large distillery with significant wealth, with assets in the billions.

Tony had pursued Georgia before she got married and continued to pursue her even after she did. His persistent pursuit was primarily driven by a desire to sleep with her.

The forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest—not having achieved his goal kept Tony chasing after her.

Just then, Georgia came out of the room and saw Tony.

"Georgia, did you receive the gifts I sent to your grandma yesterday?" Tony asked excitedly when he saw her.

Scarlett's eyes widened instantly. She connected the gifts from yesterday to Tony's identity. She asked, with astonishment, "Were those gifts from you yesterday?"

The gifts! Tony was puzzled by her words.

Scarlett grabbed Tony excitedly, saying, "I knew it, I knew it! So it was you. I had no idea you were doing so well outside. Your family is rich, and you're so successful. It's such a relief!"

Tony was still confused because what he sent was just a few thousand dollars' worth of replicas. Old Mrs. Adams did not even look at them before throwing them away.

Scarlett enthusiastically said, "Tony, you're so good to our Georgia. Yesterday's grand gesture must have been meticulously arranged by you. It was so touching! The Red Phoenix Diamond, the vintage wine, the villa! The cash gift of thirty-eight million eight hundred eighty-eight thousand! Truly, heaven and earth are the witnesses to your love."

Tony swallowed hard. What on earth was she talking about?

"Tony, do you really like our Georgia?"

Tony's eyes went wide open, and he excitedly said, "Mrs. Adams, I truly love Georgia. Whether she's been married before doesn't matter to me. I only want her as my wife for the rest of my life. Yes, I was the one who sent those things."

Tony shamelessly took advantage of the situation.

He had long coveted Georgia since high school. Even though she had been married for three years, he knew she had not had sex with her foolish husband. He saw it as a win for himself.

Scarlett was moved by Tony's words and quickly said, "I knew it. I'll arrange for Georgia's divorce right away."

"Georgia, let's go and get the divorce procedures done today," Scarlett said to Georgia.

Then she saw Kayden standing nearby and scolded, "You idiot, what are you standing there for? Come here now."

Georgia frowned and firmly shook her head, saying, "Mom, I told you, I will not divorce Kayden. I promised Grandpa to take care of him, and I will keep my promise unless Kayden himself says he does not want me anymore. Otherwise, I will not divorce."

She wanted to fulfill the promise she made to her beloved grandfather on his deathbed.

"Georgia, are you kidding me? You've been a laughingstock in Hiphia for three years because of this fool. Your grandpa was harming you, don't you see that?"

"Look at your eldest sister, how happy she is with her husband now. She spends tens of thousands on cosmetics every month, drives a Mercedes, and lives in a villa. Look at how Grandma treats her and her mom. What have you got from marrying this fool besides mockery and scorn? What do I get? I cannot even speak in front of my friends. Now that you're about to marry Tony, our family will truly soar. People won't mock us anymore; they'll envy and look up to us."

Suddenly, Tony knelt on one knee and said solemnly, "Georgia, marry me. I will make you the happiest woman in Hiphia."

Georgia shook her head vigorously. She also wanted to live that kind of life, but thinking of her beloved grandfather's last words, she could not bring herself to imagine it.

"Enough, stop pressuring her! My wife will not be pushed around by anyone!"

A cold, piercing voice suddenly came.

Kayden walked towards them step by step, his face expressionless, his eyes extraordinarily determined.
