chapter 5

Athena was floored, her dad was going to MURDER them both, she tried to squeeze out to her mates hold but only felt him tighten his hold on her, his face passive, is he suicidal? Athena thought wiggling in his arms,

'boy you better let go of my daughter this instant before i tear you apart limb by limb,' Dante sneered, his bloodlust rising every second,

'there will be no need,' Azarious drawled, looking very much bored which fuelled Dantes anger even more,

'i let you into my pack, invited you as a guest of honour and this is how i am repaid?' Dante all but growled,

'i have not disrespected you Dante,' Azarious said calmly, as Knox, Sophia, Gabriel, James, Abel, Grace and Jack rushed into the balcony closing the doors behind them so the pack members wouldn't be aware of the commotion,

Venus had mindlinked Knox in to come help who must have no doubt informed Sophia, who must have told the rest of them,

Azarious had now let go to Athena who was red as a tomato seeing her whole family worried as hell over what was going on,

'what the hell happened,' Knox asked trying to push Dante back,

'that mutt had his hands all over my daughter,' Dante spit out, the veins in his neck popping from the strain of holding his lycan back,

'we trusted you,' Abel growled out,

'and i have not broken that,' Azarious responded, looking at Athena waiting for her to say something but she chose to be silent,

'i think Athena wants to tell you all something,' Azarious said, as she shot him a glare,

'Athena come here right now then you can tell us what it is,' Abel said

'i umm,'

'whats going on,' Gabriel asked,

'what Athena here is unable to tell you all is that i am her mate,' Azarious said finally, watching everyones faces turn into that of pure shock and disbelief, while Knox on the other hand fainted dead away on the spot from the news that was delivered,

'what,' Dante breathed, unable to believe what he had heard, while Sophia and James tended to a very blacked out Knox,

'Athena is it true?' Venus finally asked, see how her daughter gulped and finally she nodded her head, beside her she felt Dante take in a sharp breath, he nodded but his eyes were glazed over, and he turned silently around and left,

Knox regained consciousness a few moments later, Venus was staring at her daughter with disappointment, this is not how we raised you, she mindlinked to her as tears pooled in her eyes and she turned and walked away to find her husband.

Athena was left there, watching every her parents leave and her heart broke into pieces, she knew why they were hurt,

her parents have always been so open and caring that they never expected her to hide anything from them, let alone something this big, they had every right to be upset, but she felt her heart break at the look her father gave her before he left,

'come on inside you two,' James said softly, smiling gently at Azarious and wrapping his cape around Athena who had goosebumps all over her skin, but it wasn't due to the weather, it was cause of the dread that filled her of what was going to happen next,

Abel and Jake had quickly gone back in earlier before pack members became curious of all there whereabouts and found drama to gossip about, the tongues would never cease wagging.

'Azarious,' Knox called out, finding his breath and sanity,

'come by tomorrow, what happened today needs to be discussed, Dante isn't in the position for that right now thats why, plus everyone will have a fresh mind by tomorrow to be able to take mature and rational decisions,' he said, giving Athena a pointed look,

'come sweetie ill drop you off,' Sophia murmured, taking Athena with her and Grace, she didn't need to be around the party right now.

walking away Athena looked back to find Azarious already looking at her, hands in his pockets his eyes anything but warm,

she shivered despite the cape draped around her shoulders, right now he wasn't the same man who had cornered her on the balcony, he was cold and forbidding, shaking her head she turned her head around and made her way back downstairs with Grace and her aunt Sophia,

finally when she returned home, Grace and Sophia hugged Athena goodnight and left, taking her heels off she walked across the soft gardens and made her way to the front door,

walking inside she was met with eerie silence and realised her parents and brothers were still at the party, sighing she went up to her room and changed, took her makeup off and got into bed,

with all the events of the night flashing across her head and making her cringe at how everything turned out to be, this is not how she wanted things to go, it had all turned into a nightmare

an hour later she was still up and tossing in bed, it was 1 at night now when she heard deep footsteps in the corridor outside her room, she peeped over her covers to she the shadow of someone standing outside her room,

breathing in deeply to catch the scent she realised it was her father, and her eyes watered a little but she kept her silence, he stood outside for a while before hesitantly walking back and away from her room, when he was finally out of earshot, Athena let the tears flow, she cried and cried.

She cried for herself, for fate putting her in this position, for her parents that she upset, and for Azarious, it was sometime later that she felt into a dreamless sleep.
