Chapter 5

Sunny

Wow! This girl is crazy like really crazy, I can't stop thinking about her and how they blurted out their names it was a stupid stunt they pulled out by mistake but I enjoyed it like hell. Though I didn't know what happened to me back there, I just felt like watching her give me curses with those rosy lips. I wanted to touch them, touch her soft face but somehow I managed myself to not do such a thing. After all, I just met her and she kinda hates me for sure in our first meeting. Lmao!

Why am I so happy about a girl hating me?

Maybe because this is the first time a girl ever hates you, Sunny boy. My inner voice spoke.

"We reached your home, Chote Kunwar sa," Deepak spoke, snapping me out of my thoughts.

I glanced at the biggest palace through the car's window which is also known as my house. The golden lighting around the palace always looks like I've lived in some kind of Paradise of beautiful fire and I was grateful for it. Nevertheless, I don't feel like going inside. No! I wasn't nervous...Okay, I am but only a bit, it's just that I don't want to encounter my parents this soon. I am not ready to answer the deadly questions they will throw on me along with taunts and tantrums.

I saw Deepak removing my suitcase from the back of the car as he came to my side and opened the door for me. I hesitantly stepped out, heaving a sigh to calm myself.

"Chote Kunwar sa!" A maid whom I didn't recognize, of course, called me when she noticed me standing in front of the house's metal door, and with no time, every maid and butler started to gather around me to greet me.

"Chote Kunwar sa! It's so good to see you after years!" They began to mutter the same thing while touching me to confirm whether I am actually here or not. Not their fault though.

"Okay, Okay, give me some space first!" I retorted, not wanting to sound rude but I had no choice but the sudden crowd suffocates my oxygen.

"Sunny! You are back!" My mom spoke, walking up to me, happily as everyone scooted to a side, giving her way over to me.

"Yes, I guess," I said, flashing her a small smile. She slowly touched my cheeks, hugging me, followed by her, I saw Karan bro walking over to me with a huge smile on his face.

"Hey, man!" He says, clapping my hand with his as he takes me into a tight embrace that's gonna choke my breath.

"I can't handle so much bromance in a night!" I protested in a kidding way, earning a glare and slight punch on my shoulders from him.

"If things were in my hands I would never let my little brother go away from me." He jokes, making us laugh.

"In that case, I am glad they aren't in your hands." I mocked when suddenly Mom and Bro got silent like they saw the ghost. I turned around to find Dad standing there with a serious expression on his face as his hands were crossed.

"H-hey, dad." God knows why I stuttered.

"Padharo, Sunny sa," Dad spoke in a tense voice and I felt a shiver running down my spine.

~~~~
For the past 15 minutes, I have been staring at the food which has been placed in front of me to eat for dinner even though mom and Karan bro hardly ate anything. We all can't digest this food only for one good reason which is Dad's deadly silence that has spread across the room like a plague. We all somehow expected his anger but this is something else that I just can't figure out.
I am feeling like a prey who is forced to eat the food as his last wish before his death. Nevertheless, this can be true. The silence has fed me up.
"Are you all going to finish the food or plan to play with it the entire night?" Dad asked, breaking the awkward silence finally.
"We are eating." Mom and bro replied in unison, forcing themselves to chew Rotis, and here I was about to take the first bite of my meal when dad moved to me.
"And Sunny." I freeze, hearing my name from his mouth.
"Y-yes, dad?" I put the spoon back on the plate, giving my whole attention to him.
"I won't play behind the bushes. I will directly come to the point, Sunny, Rhea told me about the complaints she received from your college."
Now, Sunny boi, you are gone.
I mentally told myself.
"And from them, I have concluded that Sunny, you are going to help me in upcoming elections by promoting me around Jodhpur, pulling out a rally, going home to home of people asking them their problems."
"What?!" I shouted in disbelief.
"Why What?"
"Dad, you are the king here already, why do you want to join a political party in the first place? And why only me? Why don't you ask Bro or Kaya for help? Besides, where is that girl?!"
For those who don't know Kaya, she is my sweet little evil sister.
"Don't put your work on others, Sunny, Kaya went to sleep early because she is working on her college projects unlike you, who doesn't even attend classes properly." He insulted me in a good way.
"Also, I've a super successful business to look after so I won't get time for the elections and things which only make you left, Sunny." Karan bro spoke in his usual matter-of-fact manner as his words pushed me more into the ocean of death.
"Whatever! You guys can't force me, we all know, I am not fit for this job plus my exams are coming, I need to study for it." I retorted, noticing the draggers dad was throwing on me through his eyes.
"When was the last time you studied, Sunny?" There was a bit of sarcasm hidden in his tone, "I know you blackmail teachers to pass you In exams, I just don't have proof or else you would have been behind the bars cos you very well know this is a crime and I don't want a criminal in my house. And what are your goals in life after you finish college?"
"I-" I wasn't able to answer because I thought nothing about what I want to do in the future.
"It's nothing, right? That's why I am giving you a chance to show me and the entire Jodhpur that you're fit to be the next minister in the future, at least Rajasthan will get an educated minister who can make wise decisions on modern problems."
"Thakur Ji, I didn't interrupt in the father-son conversation but Sunny wasn't able to take the decision of his own life and how can you trust him with others' lives?" Mom said, insulting me even though I knew she was trying to save me from the mess dad is pushing me into. Nonetheless, her words were damn true and felt like a stab at me.
"Sushma Ji, that's the reason, I want Sunny to work with me from now on so he can learn how to play well in politics." He replied with a straightforward attitude, turning his eyes to me, "And Sunny, be prepared early morning, my advisor would be with you all the time, telling you what to do and not, and I, of course, expect you to behave well, got it?"
I forced myself to nod while cursing under my breath, he stood up from the chair, "Finish the food." He added to me and left.
That was the reason I never wanted to return here! I knew I was just gonna listen to his taunts.
I glanced at the food for the last time and no doubt, I have either lost my appetite or got enough of his insulting words for dinner which has filled my stomach.
I pushed the plate back on the table and left soon after, mom was telling me to at least eat something but I ignored it because all I needed was space.
~~~

After the bath, I changed into my usual attire which was; Blue t-shirt, white jacket, and black jeans with the locket of my parent's name on them. I left my hair wet open as I just brushed them off with the help of my fingertips.

Even though I don't want to do what dad has demanded me to but I seriously got no choice because it just about a few weeks and then I will leave the home and after college, I will go somewhere else where I can live my life peacefully whether I need to work as a normal employ person or something else.

I stalked down the stairs, seeing Dad was talking to a guy who must be a few years younger than him, he had some hairs on the side of his head and the middle area was clean shaved like the half-moon. As his big belly was arguing with the buttons to come out of the tight shirt he was wearing to look fit but failed.

"Here's my son, Samrath, and Samrath, meet my personal advisor, Mukesh, " Dad introduced me to him by my real name. I mentally facepalmed myself.

"Nice to see you," he said, shaking his hands firmly with mine.

"Same here," I replied.

Dad shifted towards me, "So Samrath, he'll teach you all necessary things you need to know about politics so I expect you to focus well with him." He told me.

I gave him a nod, rolling my eyes to the other side, "We should get going then, " Mukesh said to me.

We both walked outside as he properly introduced himself. He and dad are good friends from their college time and he is one of the most trusted people of my dad even though I just came to know about his guy's existence which is not my fault since I am not interested in meeting any of my parent's friends in any hell way because they bored me to shit.

"Since it's your first day, we are just going to the nearby village to talk to people about their problems." He spoke as we reached near the car.

I found a few more men standing over there waiting for my arrival. They were in white kurta and jeans with the flag of my dad's political party, I guess, along with musical instruments, Mic, and a big microphone. They smiled at me, bowing their heads.

"Who are you guys?" I asked, baffled.

"Chote Kunwar sa, they are the ones who are going to support us in today's rally," Mukesh replied.

I must be lying if I say I remember the rally part, I scratch my eyebrow in the thought of something to get rid of them. I can't meet people if I took this group of jokers along with me today if I really care about my reputation in the public. Also, I can't handle too much noise.

"Chote Kunwar sa, we are always here for you and do anything to Thakur sa win this election." One of them spoke, showing me the perfectly yellowed teeth.

"Thanks, I appreciate your support a lot, but I prefer to go all alone." They shot me a look in utter confusion, "See, I thought if we want to know people and their needs better, I need to go there as a common man that too alone, not as a son of a king, after all, it is not just about getting votes out of them, right?"

They nodded still confused, "But, Kunwar sa, what about your safety and what we'll say to Thakur sa? If he came to know I left you alone on the first day, he would scold me." Mukesh shrieked.

"You'll tell my dad what I just told you and come to my safety, no one knows me here as much as I know, so leave me at my state, I will manage. Besides, I am sure you will survive my dad's scolding as I did, and You guys go home for now."

Gratefully, I noticed Deepak cleaning the window of the car, I called him, and he moved around, finding me waving at him.

"Chote Kunwar sa, how can I help you?" He asks politely.

"I need to go somewhere," I said, sitting inside the car. He nodded and started the car for me.
