Chapter 7
I would have taken it as just a gust of wind, but it had been too fast and there was no wind today. The leaves on the trees barely moved. Being at a camp for supernatural teens, it could have been a vampire. All accounts mention that they are so fast that they cannot be seen.
I decided to ignore what had just happened and went on my way. However, a few seconds later, another gust of wind whipped my face. As well as another.
This behavior began to hit me on the system.
-What do you want from me!? I screamed.
Silence answered me.
In order to put an end to this stupid number, I quickened my pace to get to my bungalow more quickly. Arriving on the porch, a headache set in, making me wince.
Awesome.
I entered my room, motivating myself to unpack my bags, putting my clothes away in my only chest of drawers.
A noise startled me after a long silence. A knock against glass. Someone had just thrown a rock at my window. I then looked through it and saw a silhouette on the other side. I opened my window and looked at the person on the other side.
Zack.
-Was that the gust of wind earlier? I asked him.
He affirmed with a nod, a small smile.
-What do you want ? I said sighing.
-Oh, am I bothering you?
I turned my head towards my clothes that must have been in my drawers then I stared at him.
-No, not really, I told him.
He smiled, which allowed me to see the beginning of his fangs. He didn't look very holy when he had that curve to his lips.
-You going down ? he asked me.
-Uh, yeah I'm coming.
I turned to leave the front bungalow, but he interrupted me.
-Go through your window, it will go faster.
I then opened my window as far as it would go and looked down. There must have been almost two meters of distance between me and the ground. It wasn't that bad, I wasn't super clumsy after all.
I swung my body over the edge of the window and positioned myself to land without hurting myself. I jumped, but during my mini descent, one of my feet caught a plank of the bungalow which was loosely attached to the others. I braced myself for a bad landing and immediately closed my eyes, but I landed in cold arms. I met the vampire's gaze when I opened my eyes.
“You can drop me off now,” I said, feeling uncomfortable.
Once completely on the ground, I glared at the incarnate board then turned back to Zack.
-Did you want to see me or did you want to take advantage of my graceful fall to have me in your arms?
He gave a little laugh.
-Both, he admitted.
I let out a sigh.
-Okay, now tell me why you're here, I said, crossing my arms.
He looked around as if afraid of being seen, which made me frown.
-Because I like you, he finally said. You're certainly new, but you intrigue me.
I rolled my eyes. Not these stories yet...
-Okay, I'll make something clear, I don't want a love story. Not with you or anyone else.
Oddly, his eyes started to glow slightly.
-Oh yes ?
Suddenly he became more attractive and inviting. Desire appeared in me. Desire that appeared as if by magic. My body wanted to stick to his, but my thoughts managed to slow me down.
-I... I said n..., I stammered.
He advanced towards me like a predator advancing towards its prey. His eyes were glowing red.
-You're sure ? he asked me, with a smile on his lips.
“I don’t want to,” I said, shaking my head.
He took my wrist and moved me towards him without me being able to do anything. He was staring at my lips and I found myself staring at his too. I had desire, but I didn't have that feeling of butterflies in my stomach. I didn't really know what was happening to me. Something was wrong, or was it my heart playing tricks on me.
I tried so hard to push him away, but I couldn't. Just before the vampire grabbed my lips, a branch snapped. The noise came from above us.
-Let her go, ordered a male voice.
Zack growled and bared his fangs.
He released me and all traces of desire suddenly disappeared. I pressed myself against the wall of the bungalow. I looked around to see who was there. One thing was sure, it wasn't Wendy because the voice was deep. I was trying to connect it to a person, but I hadn't heard it often. I didn't see anyone around us, but where was this voice coming from?
And immediately, something coming from the top of the trees landed right in front of me. His back was to me and he was facing Zack. That “he” was Hunter, the shapeshifter.
But what shocked me the most was to see him in his human form when he had just landed from very high and very quickly from the sky as if he had landed as quickly as a lightning strikes the sky. ground.
He was probably stealing, I thought.
To fly with the gigantic wings which rose in its back.
He looked like an angel, or rather a fallen angel because of the black raven that covered his magnificent feathers.
I understood immediately that this was no ordinary shapeshifter like the others. Even if there are only two of us here and I still have a hard time believing it...
