Chapter 5: Cry
Chapter 5
"WHAT happened to you, Ian?"
Ian sat on the sofa next to his friend Arianne. He t-in-ext it and said it was lying here in the SVU library so he immediately went to it. He doesn't have a class so here he is and he is here now.
He did not answer Arianne's question and removed the cap she was wearing. It is forbidden to wear a cap here inside the library for reasons he does not know.
He knew why that was what Arianne immediately asked him. She really looked like a mess. It seemed as if he had not slept for ten years in the very blackness around his eyes. It's good that his eyes are not too red due to crying all night last night. It seems like it was only last night that really sank into his brain without Aiden and Ian, that they really broke up.
Who would blame her for crying like that? Maybe some will think he's superficial but that's really when you love, right?
It's only been a day since Aiden broke up with him. Swimming is not just an overnight healing process. The pain that resides in his heart does not disappear immediately, eh. But she has to accept the fact that Aiden didn't love her anymore. And that was the hardest part.
He still can't accept until now that Aiden has nothing to do with them. It was hard to imagine that the man who had always been by her side had just disappeared with a twinkle in her eye.
It is true to say that there is nothing permanent in the world other than change. Life indeed for her was rapidly changing.
Another thing that bothered her was the man who collided with her and gave her a handkerchief. He did not know why his face was pressing in his mind even though in fact Aiden should be the only one in his mind.
"Earth to Ian! You have a person here named Arianne. Hello? I have a question."
"Aiden and I broke up," he told Arianne. At the same time is the re-enveloping of longing in her heart, longing for the love lost, for the man lost in her life.
"I'm sorry, Ian. When else?"
"Yesterday."
"What happened?"
He recounted from the beginning what had happened. From what he saw and heard to Aiden's words. Sometimes he even stops talking because of Arianne's side comments. She also told the story of the man who collided with her and helped her. Of course, he did not mention his reactions to the man who collided. It's hard and Arianne might make that issue.
"That bastard! That man will really make fun of me! How dare he hurt you? How dare that freaking son of a—"
"No cursing inside the library!" sita ng librarian kay Arianne.
Arianne immediately covered her mouth and noticed a slight reddening of her cheek. Despite the weight he felt, he somehow felt better because of his friend. Arianne is probably very supportive of him and is ready to defend him.
Arianne was not her classmate because her course was different — Journalism. He has been her friend since they were little. He considers her a best friend here and it is the same for him. When someone was fighting over it then he had no hesitation in defending it and so did he. Arianne became the sister she never had.
"Oh! My head is really hot because of that Aiden! When I see him, alas! Even his eyes, there are warts!"
Ian smiled at Arianne and patted her arm lightly. "You're over, best. Even the eyes, there are scars? Poor Aiden."
It raised an eyebrow at him and slightly frowned. "So? No mercy, okay? If I were you, you'd just be there for Mister Kill-Me-With-Your-Smile. My God! He's so sweet! Oh! He's a hero for what he does Ash's novel. "
The Ash it refers to is Ashleigh who is another friend of theirs. Ashleigh is two years younger than him. They became close to the woman because she was with Arianne at her club. Ashleigh was a sweet girl so they immediately became close friends. Ash is also a journalism student but she sidelined as a romance writer in a publishing house here in the Philippines.
"Heh! Shut up there, Arianne!"
"Why? Based on your stories, Mister Kill-Me-With-Your-Smile is hero material. Alas, Ian, in Ash-only novels-looks-cash such things exist so luck mo! "
"I do not care about him."
"So that? Who do you care? Aiden who broke your heart?"
The wind blew him away and looked at the friend. "Because my feelings for him can't be taken away just like that, eh."
"I know. I know. It's not that easy but you have to find a way to get rid of it, right? That's better than thinking about it. You know, so you broke up because you just have to be more deserving. You will be loved dearly. It looks like Mister Kill-Me-With-Your-Smile. "
"Heh!" he sighed but also thought about what he said. Because the word he uttered was different, he wanted to convey the same message to her as when Mister Kill-Me-With-Your-Smile — based on Arianne — told her yesterday.
