Chapter 3: Isn't Rosalind an Assistant?

Tilda's booming voice abruptly captured everyone's attention, including Ulric's. However, he only cast a brief glance before turning away and striding out of the hotel.

Once the commotion settled and everyone dispersed, Tilda approached Rosalind with a curious expression on her face. "Hey, why do you think Mr. Walters was asking about that?"

Confusion clouded Tilda's mind as she anticipated some explosive revelation, only to be met with a trivial inquiry.

Rosalind, on the other hand, breathed a sigh of relief, feeling as though she had been granted a reprieve. Her throat felt dry as she responded, "Perhaps he wanted to switch rooms because mine has a good view."

"Is that all?"

"He's the president, after all."

Tilda pouted, realizing that their stark differences in status would likely prevent any meaningful connection between them.

"Do you think a cold and handsome guy like Mr. Walters would be passionate in bed? I bet he's well-endowed given his height!"

"…"

Passionate might be an exaggeration. As for the latter part… he probably is well-endowed. Although she had no basis for comparison, it took almost an hour last night to get to the main event.

‘Stop, stop, what am I thinking?’

She had been around Tilda for too long, always thinking about these explicit things.

Soon, Mr. Chan arrived in the lobby, impeccably dressed in a business suit and leather shoes, albeit with increasingly thinning hair.

He took the documents from Rosalind and glanced through them, his voice tinged with displeasure. "IOP has tightened up significantly in the past couple of years. It was already challenging to secure this project, and now this unexpected hurdle! If the replenishment funds are too high, we can bid farewell to our bonuses!"

Rosalind remained silent, while Tilda shot a disdainful look. Wasn't it Mr. Chan who had mishandled the situation? He had even agreed to be the replenishment party to secure the project.

Suddenly, Mr. Chan shifted his gaze to Rosalind, scrutinizing her as if weighing something. His tone softened considerably from his earlier harshness.

"Rosalind, if I recall correctly, you're from Jingtown, right?"

"Yes, Jingtown East."

"Mr. Walters is also from Jingtown. Tonight, I'll find a way to invite him to dinner. Use your hometown connection to gauge his stance."

His request seemed like a suggestion, but in reality, Mr. Chan left Rosalind with little room to refuse.

However, the thought of meeting Ulric made Rosalind hesitate. She tactfully replied, "Mr. Chan, I'm afraid my position isn't high enough to engage in conversation with Mr. Walters."

"It's normal to chat a bit when you're seated at the same table, having a drink."

"But—"

"It's settled then. Dress nicely tonight and don't embarrass me!"

With that, Mr. Chan left the hotel. Tilda rolled her eyes behind his back and pulled Rosalind along to follow him.

In the evening, after the initial round of negotiations with HanYang Enterprises' representative, Mr. Chan urged Rosalind to return to the hotel and prepare.

By some means, Ulric did indeed arrive at the hotel's private room.

As Rosalind walked in, her gaze fell upon Ulric seated in the prominent chair.

He had removed his suit jacket, draping it over the armrest. A few buttons on his white shirt were undone, revealing his cold, pale skin. His gold-rimmed glasses added a touch of restraint to his demeanor.

Four individuals occupied the private room: Rosalind, Mr. Chan, Ulric, and Ulric's personal secretary.

Upon seeing Rosalind standing still, Mr. Chan approached and pulled out the chair closest to Ulric for her. "Come on, Rosalind, sit here."

She hesitated for a moment before reluctantly making her way over.

But before she could take her seat, Ulric's icy voice broke the silence. "Isn't Rosalind an assistant? When did she become a PR specialist?"
