When I Regained My Sight, My Whole Family Went Crazy With Regret
Summary
My husband Hugh Harrington was driving me to a prenatal checkup when the accident happened. He risked his life to protect me and ended up in the ICU. As for me, I lost my sight, and my baby was born prematurely. I was devastated, but I was deeply moved by my husband's devotion. My younger sister, Yvonne, was equally supportive—praying for me, taking care of me every day, and seeking out the best doctors. Hugh kept promising that he would take care of me for the rest of my life. But when my vision miraculously returned, and I wanted to surprise them with the good news, I turned around and saw the two of them locked in an intimate kiss, so absorbed in each other that a silver thread of saliva still connected their lips.

"Jane, what were you saying about your eyes?" Yvonne snapped out of the trance of her kiss, hurriedly pushing Hugh away, though her fingers still clung to the edge of his suit jacket.
Hugh stepped forward, reaching out as if to take my hand.
I instinctively recoiled, taking several steps back. The shock in my eyes hadn't faded before I quickly shut them, pretending to be blind. After the surgery, my eyesight had been restored. I had begged the doctor to keep it a secret—I wanted to surprise them. But instead of a surprise, I got a shock.
The air in the room grew heavy and awkward.
For a moment, confusion flickered in Hugh's eyes.
I slowly opened mine again, meeting his now softened, tender gaze.
"My eyes are hurting a little. I think I'll go rest," I said quietly.
Yvonne immediately stepped up to guide me toward the bedroom. "You've just come back, Jane. You should rest more!"
She fussed over me, pulling up the covers on the bed and bringing me a steaming mug of milk. From the drawer, she retrieved a thin blister pack of pills, popping one out and holding it in front of my face before casually dropping it into the milk, her smile flawless and reassuring. "Have this warm milk and a good night's sleep. You'll feel much better in the morning!"
I clenched my left hand tightly, my nails digging into my palm. Keeping my composure, I lifted the cup to my lips. From the corner of my eye, I caught the glint of malice in hers, her smug expression as she quietly left the room and shut the door behind her.
I sat there for a long time, my legs weak and trembling, almost collapsing under me. Finally, I got up and emptied the milk down the bathroom sink.
Gently cracking the door open, I stepped into the silence of the house, where only the faint ticking of the clock could be heard. But a different noise broke the stillness—breathy gasps and muffled groans, faint but unmistakable, cutting through the quiet like a blade.
Through the barely ajar door of the next room, I caught sight of them. Two bare bodies intertwined, their movements both shameless and fervent.
"Harder! I gave her the drug right in front of her—she'll be out cold by now. Don't worry!"
"Tell me, Hugh—who's better in bed, me or that blind woman?" Yvonne's voice was sultry and mocking.
Hugh grabbed her chin, his voice low and laced with warning, though his actions didn't falter. "I've told you before—you can have my body, but my heart belongs to Jane."
Yvonne chuckled, her tone teasing but dripping with malice. "Oh, Hugh, if only she knew the truth... That car accident didn't just take her eyesight. It took her baby and her womb too. And it wasn't an accident at all! Do you think she'd lose her mind if she found out? Blind and insane—what a sight that would be! Just the thought of it excites me!"
Hugh's hand moved to her throat, tightening his grip as his voice grew colder. "If you ever tell her, I'll kill you."
But Yvonne only laughed harder. "Hugh Harrington, you're such a hypocrite. Letting me destroy her, betraying her over and over, all while claiming to love her!"
