CHAPTER 6

For four days the Baron did not disturb Querencia so he was very grateful that he did not show up.

"Everything is ready, miss." said Marina so she walked out of the room and he followed her.

After they left the mansion, they immediately got into a carriage and went to the market.

After arriving, he got out of the carriage carrying his basket. Marina came down next.

"I will carry his basket, Miss." said Marina. He wanted to take it from her a while ago so he frowned.

"I want to live without being a noble even for one day, Marina." she draws away her basket then swishes her index finger as if saying 'no'. "So let me go now." she said in a firm tone then walked away.

he happily walked away and Marina was confused by chasing after him.

First they went to the apple store. "Whoah. The red.” he said full of admiration while staring at the apple. It sure is sweet.

“How many of you, young ladies?” asked the shopkeeper while smiling.

He first thought about how much he would consume in two days. Because others might rot if they overdo it. "Only five." he said and picked some red apples. And while he was busy choosing, Marina paid for it.

when he finished, he stood up straight and thanked the shopkeeper. "We are leaving. Thank you!” he said smiling.

"Thank you also. Come back.” replied the shopkeeper.

Before they had gone far, someone saw him again.

“Sugar cookies!” he shouted excitedly then immediately bought his favorite cookies. He bought two boxes. And when he saw some fruits again, he bought them. She brought durian—an exotic fruit. She didn't expect that she'll see it here. maybe it's because Filipinos made this story that there are also things from Filipinos.

Bananas, mangoes, and grapes. She brought it all and that made her basket heavy as fck! But he did not regret it. It's her shopping day after all.

"Miss, can you bring that?" Marina asked as she looked at him with both hands holding the basket. The only thing that makes it heavy is the durian.

He turned to Marina then reached for the Durian which she immediately accepted. "You take care of that." he said.

Marina winced. "Miss, can you really eat this?" he said as if he hated it. Marina doesn't seem to like Durian. But he wants it so he should bring it.

"I bought you Grapes." he winked at her and Marina sighed. she likes durian and Marina likes grapes, both of them brought each other's favorite so they're even.

While walking around, Querencia saw a dessert shop so she immediately pulled Marina inside.

"What do you want?" asked a woman who looked like a waiter. it had just approached them when they sat down at the empty table.

He was handed a menu which he immediately accepted. He looked at it and was immediately amazed by its super cute design and food. He thought that only the capital had this theme.

"Special bun pancake for me." he said smiling and the waiter wrote it on the paper he was holding. Then he turned to Marina who was still choosing. "Order anything, Marina. I will pay.” he said smiling.

Marina chose seriously and in a few moments she spoke. "Just a club sandwich for me." he said to the waiter then turned to him. "Thank you, miss." smiling here.

"What would you like to pair with this, ladies?" when asked the waiter.

"Just juice for me." he said turning to Marina.

It nodded. "Me too."

The waiter left and in a few moments their order arrived. He thanked them first and then they ate.

When they finished, both of them leaned on the back of the chair. "Great, their food is delicious." he commented while holding his full stomach.

"I agree with what you said, Miss." said Marina.

Because they were full, they rested. After a while they both stood up and left the shop.

they continued to tour and when they saw a book store, he stopped for a moment. He wanted to go in and find a book about witches but Marina might wonder. He won't let her go if he doesn't answer her question.

then he turned to Marina. "Do you have a place you want to go, Marina?" he asked.

It turned to him. "Nothing, Miss." smiling here.

His two eyebrows just raised and then he shrugged. "All right." he said and walked towards their carriage.

the street they are passing now is full of people. There are also many lovers walking by who make him wince in disgust.

“Urgh...hnggg. Enough. I will pay you." he heard a child sobbing so he turned around a corner. It was so remote that he couldn't really see what was there. And because he is naturally gossipy, he came a little closer to that which surprised Marina.

"Miss. Where are you going?" it's a strange question.

He put his index finger to his lips. "Shh, Marina. I hear something.” he said.

"What will pay? Huh! You keep saying that!” shouted a man and suddenly there was a bang. "You beg! My day is ruined because of you!” it snorts at someone.

He took a step back when he saw a child with a bruised face come out of that secluded place. It staggered while running and suddenly bumped into him.

CHAPTER 6 CONT

It fell hard to the ground. “Urgh!” it groaned. when he looked up at her and he quickly stood up then bowed. "Excuse me, young lady." it's an apology. Because of its speed, he was unable to help him.

His eyebrows met at the sight of the child. only a crazy old man would do this, like his father.

He raised his hand to caress her head but the boy hesitated as if he was afraid he would hurt her.

He crouched down to match it, and so it wouldn't be afraid of him. "You alright?" he asked full of sincerity.

The boy was shaking while holding tightly to the hem of his clothes. It did not say a word.

"Is he all right, miss?" asked Marina who was behind him.

He sighed and shook his head. “No.” he then addressed Marina and took the durian she was holding.

"Wait for me here, Marina." he said coldly and Marina immediately stopped him by the hand. It seems that he immediately read what was happening.

"Miss. Just calm down. we can call a guard or a soldier.” she said in a panic while stopping him.

He just coldly looked at Marina when she smiled sweetly. “Please watch over this child, Marina. Don't bring it close." he instructed and then removed Marina's hand from his. he was stronger here so Marina did nothing.

He turned his back and then quickly entered that place.

He also saw huge people drinking.

He clenched his fist. if so, it's these useless people who oppress those weaker than them. And others are really scraping just for their drink. It's also thick, right?

"Who are you?!" a man immediately shouted when he noticed her.

his companions quickly stood up and faced him.

"Why did a lady stumble here?" the man laughed insultingly.

He smirked. "And why are ogres stranded here?" he said back which immediately made the men's heads hot.

"What?!"

“Are you challenging?!”

"Are you looking for a fight huh?!"

They shouted at the same time, almost deafening him, so he grabbed his ear.

He thought his day would be clear but it wasn't. He didn't want to stay in this place.

"Are you listening girl?!" a man snorted making his eyes widen.

“No.” he said emphatically and quickly threw the durian he was holding towards the face of the gorilla.

“Ack!” it groaned and immediately fell down.

without hesitation the men ran towards him and attacked him.

"Get ready!!!!!" he shouted but before they could get close, there was a man who blocked in front of him.
