Chapter 16: Her Mysterious Husband

Greta wore exquisite makeup. Someone had sneaked into her office. She was scared! Her face turned pale.

What Leila said was more terrifying. If the cameras had been placed on the bookshelf, she would have been monitored in the office!

No matter what she had done, she had been shot. She trembled. If she were monitored, the consequences would be too ghastly to contemplate!

Greta thought about it and frowned. She asked, "If the person who bugged my office took the equipment away, why did they take it away?"

Leila looked at the phone that had been taken apart and said, "I'm not sure. There is a possibility."

"Someone dismantled the bug," Leila said.

"Who did that?" Greta crossed her arms over her chest and walked to the French window. She looked down at the huge and prosperous CBD. She felt as if someone was monitoring her.

"Who did that?" Greta asked in a charming voice.

Leila thought about it and said, "Only the cleaners and your secretary Melissa have the run of your office. Otherwise...."

"What is it?" Greta raised an eyebrow.

"Someone who is good at martial arts did that," Leila said.

"I see. I'll let you go." Greta sat down and called someone after Leila walked out of the office.

"Investigate Melissa. Did she deal with any suspicious people recently?"

Inside the villa, Maxwell was wiping the walls. He was covered in sweat. A silver Rolls-Royce Phantom was coming towards him. Someone parked the car at the entrance of the villa.

The young man who appeared last time walked into the villa and saw Maxwell working hard. He smiled faintly and said, "Maxwell, you have a full life!"

"Go ahead!" Maxwell glared at the man.

The young man gave Maxwell a wry look. Suddenly, he shot something black out from his sleeve. The speed was so fast!

Maxwell had his back to the young man and didn't turn around. He squinted his eyes sharply!

It was sudden!

Maxwell stretched out his hand and grabbed it!

Maxwell grabbed it and glanced at the young man coldly. The young man smiled and said, "You're so awesome even after a few months."

"Don't test me. Otherwise, I will think that you are sending me a signal to have a fight with me," Maxwell said indifferently.

"Are you kidding? Forget it," the young man chuckled.

Maxwell opened his fist. The young man threw an electronic component at him. It was flickering with a faint red light.

The young man leaned against the doorframe with his arms crossed over his chest. "You're right. I found two bugs and a camera in Greta's office. I have dismantled them."

Maxwell was angry. He crushed the bug.

"Someone is monitoring my wife," Maxwell muttered.

Before Leila discovered it, Maxwell asked the young man to sneak into the Sandoval Tower in the middle of the night, enter Greta's office, and dismantle them.

"Maxwell, how did you know that someone monitored Greta?" the young man asked curiously.

"I found a bug on her clothes. They could install the bug on her clothes. They must have installed it in her office." Maxwell was calm because he guessed that.

"They're hatchet men. It isn't a normal commercial competition." The young man's tone was colder and more murderous.

Maxwell was angry. No one knew his thoughts. What did they want to get from the Sandoval Group? This was premeditated. It wasn't a normal commercial competition. Greta was in danger.

However, Greta didn't know that she was in danger.

"Maxwell, a female star is very popular in Japan. She's beautiful. This morning, the Tobin Group of Japan said that the female star would come to the Ocean City by private plane tonight to sleep with you as long as you make a phone call." The young man smiled meaningfully.

"I have met many beauties. They're uglier than my wife." Maxwell waved his hand impatiently.

"Before you came to China, you said you were going to sleep with the star. You haven't met her yet. You only care about Greta," the young man muttered.

"I know what they want. Tell them that I will teach them a lesson if they continue like that!" Maxwell snorted coldly and pointed at the wedding photo on the wall that had been cleaned. "Look at the photo. My wife is so beautiful. No one is more beautiful than her."

"You're right. Greta is the most beautiful woman in the world. You're fascinated by her." The young man didn't have the guts to contradict Maxwell. He was sure that Maxwell would be angry if he said something bad about Greta. The young man shook his head, put on his sunglasses and walked out of the villa.

With a deafening rumble, the Rolls-Royce Phantom disappeared.

At noon, Maxwell cooked and put the food in an insulated box. He found a dusty old bicycle in the garage and dusted it. Then he rode the bicycle and came to the Sandoval Tower.

After arriving at the Sandoval Tower, Maxwell took the elevator to the top floor of the building and found the front desk. He said, "I'm looking for President Greta."

"Do you have an appointment?" the receptionist asked and didn't look up.

"No," Maxwell said.

"Without the appointment, President Greta won't see you," the receptionist replied.

"Tell her that I'm looking for her." Maxwell was surprised. He smiled bitterly.

"You?" The receptionist looked up at Maxwell. Maxwell wore a worn-out white shirt and he was sloppy.

Moreover, Maxwell held a cigarette in his hand. The choking smell of the cigarette spread out at the front desk. The receptionist was angry!

The receptionist covered her mouth as she waved her hand to disperse the choking smell of the cigarette. She shouted sternly, "Who do you think you are? Hurry up and get out. How dare you see President Greta?"

Maxwell wasn't angry when he heard what the receptionist said. He was calm. He said slowly, "Call her and confirm my identity."

The receptionist sneered and threatened loudly, "President Greta is the core of the Sandoval Group. Do you think she will have the time to meet a punk like you? Hurry up and get out. Otherwise, I'll call the security guards."

Not long after, people gathered one after another. Maxwell had no choice but to reveal his identity and said, "I am President Greta's husband."

"President Greta's husband?" The receptionist was surprised. Then she examined Maxwell up and down, covered her mouth and chuckled, "How could you be President Greta's husband?"

"Stop bragging. How could you say that you're Greta's husband? You're shameless."

"Why did the security guards let him in? It's strange."

The people discussed about it. They looked at Maxwell with amusement.

Maxwell stood at the center calmly and stared at the receptionist with a teasing smile.

"You can't slander President Greta." The receptionist made a call. Soon, two security guards rushed up and pounced on Maxwell.

Maxwell squinted his eyes and took a step back. They didn't catch Maxwell and bumped on each other!

"Catch him!" The security guards looked at each other. Maxwell attacked them with his palms. The wind of his palms caused the security guards to fly backwards and smash heavily onto the wall. The wall was cracked!

They didn't see Maxwell's movements clearly!

Greta was discussing the details of the cooperation with Hal in her office. Greta heard the noise outside the office and frowned.

"What happened? Wait a minute." Greta smiled charmingly, stood up and walked out of the office. She wore high heels.

Greta pushed away the crowd and saw Maxwell holding an insulated box in one hand. Many employees looked at him.

"Why did you come here?"

Greta was furious. She shouted at Maxwell.

Maxwell turned around and saw Greta. He handed over the box with a flattering smile. "President Greta, the take-out is not good for your health. I cooked some dishes at home and brought them over for you."

The receptionist was confused. Maxwell was attentive. She was nervous. Could this man be President Greta's husband?

President Greta's husband was so slovenly!

How could it be possible?

The crowd stopped discussing. They looked at Maxwell. They were surprised. This was President Greta's mysterious husband!
