Triplets?!
Thalia’s POV:
I struggled to sit up the bed, and Arden walked over to my side, placing his hand beside me for support. I had no idea why he was being nice to me despite the death glare that his brother was sending my way.
"You shouldn't" Arden mumbled, but went on to assist me as I leaned by back against the headboard of the bed.
"Pathetic!" Arden's twin cursed aloud as he stormed out of the room.
Arden stepped away from the bed and pulled the older man aside. They spoke in hushed tones, occasionally looking over their shoulders to throw glances at me.
I heard snippets of the conversation.
Drugs. Care. Keep an eye on her. Thalia.
My name?
They were talking about me, and it made me so damn nervous. I know I had opted to leave immediately, but I doubted if my legs would be able to carry the weight of my body for just one mile.
Where would I even go to if I chose to leave them? I was so messed up, yet I didn't want to come across as a burden to anyone. Not even Arden who had been kind to me.
My body ached, sending a subtle reminder to me that I was yet to heal.
If only I had a wolf, my healing process would be faster. I reasoned.
I let out a harsh sigh.
It caught the attention of both men as they whipped their heads and turned to face me.
"What's the matter, young one?" The healer asked.
"My neck hurts" I lied. Well, it wasn't a complete lie, because there was a stinging feeling at the exact spot on my neck where I had been bitten.
The two men approached me. My heart began to pound in my chest as I noticed the keen way Arden was now looking at me.
"You need to lay down again. I'll bring your medications soon." The healer said, gently aiding me as I rested my head on the pillow again.
I smiled at him.
"How long do you think it'd take before she's okay, Dhrel?" Arden asked.
Dhrel, the healer, took a long glance at me, his eyes squinting as they searched my face, and ran down the length of my body.
"In less than a week, if she gets the right treatment and attention, I'm sure she will be fit."
"Alright. See to it that she gets the proper care." He said.
The door opened and a scantily dressed but beautiful woman sauntered in. There was a frown on her face as she approached Arden. She wore her blonde hair down, and it bounced on her shoulders as she walked.
"Alpha Arden, I've been searching for you!" She cooed shamelessly, as she leaned on his chest.
Arden eyed me before he looked down at her face. She snuggled against him and mumbled, "I've missed you."
"I missed you too." He replied, planting a kiss on her forehead.
I watched the scene unfold, torn between surprise and a tinge of jealousy.
Then, I caught myself .
What was even wrong with me? I didn't know Arden and I was already envious of some strange woman whom he just admitted missing.
I was too caught up in my thoughts that I didn't notice that the lady had pulled away from Arden's chest, and was now watching me.
Her face contorted as she nibbled on her lips, "Who's she?"
Arden coughed, "She's just.... Never mind, Reine. She isn't anyone important"
If looks could kill, I was certain that I would drop dead from the hate in her eyes as she studied me.
Oh, yeah. I wasn't anyone important. But, why did Arden's words surprise me?
"Is she the spy Asher spoke about? The one Karl brought in?"
I blinked, trying to be sure that I was the person she was referring to.
"No, Reine. She's not a spy. She's only someone who badly needs our help"
"We need to let her rest now" Elder Dhrel said aloud.
I had almost forgotten that he was there, because I was so engrossed with the woman who stood close to Arden.
"Yes." Arden replied, leading his Reine out of the room.
My eyes trailed after them, as I realized that he didn't even spare any glance at me.
My chest tightened.
What was wrong with me now? I had bigger issues to worry about than a man I didn't know!
The healer began to mix some herbs in the corner, whistling as he did. Soon, he approached me, clutching a glass of dark green liquid.
My lips curled up in disgust, "There's no way I'd take that"
"You have to. I'm under instructions to make sure you are nursed back into life.”
"I don't want to!"
He paused for a moment. Then, his head bopped as he sauntered over to the table and placed the glass on it
"Get some rest, Young lady." He said.
"Thalia."
"What?" He asked.
"Call me Thalia, please." I wasn't used to being addressed as "young" as it reminded me of my age.
He nodded again, "I will be back by noon. Then, you will have to take the drink I made for you, it will help your system."
As he turned to walk away, I called out to him.
He jerked his head towards me.
"Who saved me from the rogues?" I asked.
"The beta, Karl. You are lucky he did it just in time, because if he had spared a second longer, you would have been torn into shreds"
I heaved a sigh.
Torn into shreds? I felt like shit now. It was even worse than being torn into shreds. My entire body felt as though it could fall apart any moment.
"Is that all? Is there any more question you would like to ask?" The healer asked softly.
I rolled my eyes and tried to think.
"Y-yes, Healer."
"Okay?"
"One of the men said that it's been a week since I was brought in. Have I been here for that long?"
He nodded, "Yes. Actually, you have been in coma"
I remained silent as different thoughts swarmed my mind.
"I'll be leaving. Get to sleep, Thalia."
"Thank You." I murmured as he left the room, shutting the door behind him.
I was almost dozing off to slip when the door was yanked open with a force. I was startled and I shuddered in the bed.
Someone strode into the room, with hands shoved into his pockets. He didn't have a tattoo on his arm, so I assumed he was Arden.
I hissed and turned away to face the wall, not wanting to speak to him. I couldn't place a finger on why I was angry that he had a woman in his life.
"Cocky, huh?" He asked. I heard his footsteps draw close to the bed. "Turn around." He ordered coldly.
Who did he think he was to throw commands at me? I fumed as I trained my eyes on the wall in front of me.
"I said, turn around!" He repeated.
"You should be with her! I'll be fine" I blurted.
"What?"
"Thank you for keeping me here, anyways. I have to sleep now, Arden."
"Excuse me?"
I swung around on the bed to face him, "Alpha Arden, I know I'm in your pack, but can you let me catch some rest as you’ve asked the healer to make sure I get some?"
His forehead furrowed.
"I am not Arden and what the hell are you talking about?!” He yelled annoyingly.”
"What?” I asked and turned to look at him fully. Same height and same face and outfit as Arden.
“Who are you, then? The twin who doesn't like me?"
"I am Axel, and you are right, I don't like you" He growled. "I guess you’ve met Arden and Asher already.”
I felt color drain from my face as his lips curled up in disgust at me.
