She quickly took a shower and changed into simple clothing, a white top and chequered shorts. She tied her long dirty blonde hair up in a tight bun and walked out of the room.

Her gaze fell on Abigor lying on the couch with one of his hands under his head and the other holding a photo frame. She knew all too well what that frame had.

A younger form of herself holding close Kahlil, both of them looking dead at the camera.

His gaze snapped back at her as he sat up “You both look like you murdered someone” he snickered, putting it back at its rightful place, beside the golden statue.

“Yeah well” she shrugged “let’s go quickly and get this over with” she said while walking towards the main entrance.

“Eager now, are we?”

She rolled her eyes at his snarky comment and chose to ignore him.

“So, is it temporary or are you born with it?” Abigor asked as he stared at the beauty in front of him chewing the pancakes graciously.

“Born with what?” she replied, without sparing him a glance as she looked around the completely empty cafe. The cafe was empty even before they entered and they were greeted by the owner himself.

She did not doubt that Abigor was the one behind all this.

“Your attitude” he answered, as he rested his chin on his palms and just stared at her with a slight smirk.

“If you don’t like me that much, why are you forcing me to have breakfast with you” she retorted back while chewing, a little angry.

“Seriously, I’m asking that to myself” he replied as Aria chose to ignore it and ask the question which has been bothering her for a while.

“Mr Hayes, why did you kiss me? I’m not that type of girl” she said as he chuckled and his eyes roamed about her face and landed on her lips; remembering the delicious flavour.

“I know what type of girl you are”

Her brows furrowed at that “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“Even I don’t know. Usually, I’m used to reading people and the fact that I cannot read you, ticks me off” he muttered.

He was awfully honest.

“Well, why don’t you find someone who is easy to read and doesn’t tick you off” she said while looking at his honeyed eyes which looked so beautiful, yet so sinister.

He smirked “It’s no fun then”

Her eyes widened at his audacity, but she breathed in and out to control her growing rage “Look, Mr Hayes” she sighed “I’m not here for your fun. I don’t want to associate with the Mafia and I don’t want you barging in on my life” she confessed truthfully as his smirk fell.

“You don’t want to be on the news? Is that why you don’t have any photographs on the internet, except one?”

His question made her eyes widen as her fists tightened up “Y-You searched me up” it was more of a statement than a question.

He leaned back on the leather seat, his cruel eyes boring through her “Of course I did”

“You don’t have the right t-“

“To search you up on Google?” he cut her off as she looked down at her half-eaten pancake. Her heart thumped against her chest in nervousness.

“T-This is over” she stood up while holding her purse.

“Sit down, Aria” his voice stern and serious. He didn’t use that voice with her much but she knew if he did, he was dead serious.

She looked down at his sitting form; he played with the cutlery without a care in the world as his eyes slowly reached her’s again.

“Sit” he repeated pensively.

Aria looked around the empty restaurant once again as her gaze locked on with the scared cashier. The only human visible except them in the deserted locus.

She set her bag down and sat down again. She crossed her hands in front of her chest and heaved out a sigh, looking straight at him without fear.

“Blue Bird Orphanage” he said as her breath caught up in her throat. There was no way it was written on the internet; she had made sure of that.

“Why is every information before and after that locked, Ms Leighton?” he questioned as her heart kick-started again.

“Why don’t you ask one of your other stalker friends? I’m sure you’ve got many” she almost snarled as he chuckled lowly and sipped his coffee.

“Not really, it’s just me who has taken a liking to you”

“I’m flattered” she scoffed “What is it that you really want from me, Mr Hayes? Why don’t you just leave me alone?”

At this he leaned in, his hands extended to her face as her breathing became ragged in nervousness; imagining the worst scenarios.

But when his rough fingers softly traced her jawline and tugged the loose strand of hair behind her ear gently, it surprised her.

“I want you to come with me to an arrangement”
