“It’s the Spanish Mafia” Karl whispered from beside Abigor as Abigor nodded and listened intently at how the tanned balding man described the death of the leader’s brother.
“And then one day we found Salvador Paulo, our boss’s only brother, dead in his bedroom. We suspect it’s someone from the inside” Mateo, the bald man said animatedly as Abigor huffed in annoyance.
Mateo looked around the room full of Mafias from different regions, but his eyes kept travelling to Abigor, the boss of bosses. Whatever he says, goes. So he started again “So if we could receive a little help from you all, we even have supect-“
“What will I get in return?”
Abigor cut him off as all the heads snapped towards his direction. His sharp cunning eyes didn’t waver from the bald man as he noticed him gulping.
“What?” Mateo responded.
Abigor leaned forward in his seat, as he rested his chin on his clenched fists “It’s simple really,” he started “if you want something, you give me something in return”
Mateo glared at him with a clenched jaw and stood up while banging his fists on the glass table.
And instinctively, Karl stood beside Abigor while pointing his loaded gun at him, soon his 3 more bodyguards joined Karl at threatening the Spanish Mafia pawn.
Abigor sat there, unmoving and unflinching examining every move as whispers broke out between the other mafias.
“Do you think you threaten me?” Mateo almost screamed, “Do you even know the powers of the Spanish Mafia!”
Abigor didn’t reply and just sighed while looking down at the multiple rings on his fingers “Yes, I do know the Spanish” he responded “I also remember the war between the Hayes and the Paulo in the 2000s”
At this, Mateo gulped. Abigor’s eyes snapped back at him “You remember the outcome of that war, right Mr Mateo?”
“Time’s have changed Mr Hayes” he retorted back while sitting back down as Karl and his bodyguards relaxed beside him. Abigor scoffed in disbelief.
“Salvador Paulo” he said lazily while he tutted dramatically “in charge of arms and security in the Paulo family. I wonder what’s the status of security after his death?”
He threatened. Abigor knew about Salvador Paulo, the younger brother who was killed. A pathetic and sorry excuse for a Mafia, who was in charge of the security in the Paulo family.
Abigor was tempted so many times to attack the Paulo family, but the peace pact made between the Hayes family and the Paulo, restrained him.
“What do you want, Mr Hayes?” Mateo asked finally, dejectedly.
“The new missile” he replied instantly as Mateo’s eyes widened.
“H-How do you-“
“I know everything that goes around” Abigor replied. It was a super-secret high-tech missile being tested by the Paulo family and Abigor wanted nothing more than to own it.
Mateo hesitated and thought for a bit.
“Ok, we’ll let you know tomorrow” Mateo said in a low voice as he stood up again, the guns pointed at him again.
He bowed in front of Abigor and walked out of the room while limping a little.
“Poor man he is” Andrew Cuomo, a small Mafia in the southern side of America, said “apparently his son was also found dead when Salvador Paulo died”
Abigor stood up, completely ignoring him as all the others stood up with him as a sign of respect.
He was annoyed with himself. Today, he couldn’t focus on the issues and was way too lenient, as the only thing that roamed in his mind were the gorgeous chocolate brown eyes accompanied by the exquisite music and not to forget, that sharp mouth she had.
He would love to make use of that mouth.
“Mr Hayes”
A sharp, seductive voice halted his movements as his hands travelled to his gun holster belt with practiced precision.
A strand of blonde hair came into his view as a petite young woman, most probably in her mid-twenties, stood in front of him. Her blue satin dress hanging low and her red lips puckered out.
“What?” he asked rudely because he knew that she was not from his gang. And if she was not from his gang, then she was of no use to him.
“You look so handsome today Mr Hayes-“ she said coming closer, as his bodyguards took a step forward. But stopped when they received a signal from their boss.
The woman smiled smugly “I was thinking maybe we could….”
And Abigor stopped listening after that. Just stared at her blonde hair which reminded him of certain someone. He wanted to meet her again, maybe get a little insulted by her smart mouth. He wouldn’t mind if it was her.
Aria Leighton, he recited the name in his mind.
“…so what do you say…Abigor?” she smirked vicariously, breaking his daze while playing with his black tie with her perfectly manicured fingers. He didn’t notice when she got this close.
He glared at Karl for allowing her to get this close to him, completely forgetting that he was the one who ordered them not to intervene.
Karl shrugged and looked away.
He knew that either she was the type of women who climbed ranks by climbing onto everyone’s bed or a cheap spy by the rivalling gangs.
That’s why he never liked having meetings after a Gala or a party, anyone could breach his privacy.
Abigor gritted his teeth as his hands reached to her shoulders and he pushed her away, knocking her off her feet as she fell on her ass and hissed loudly in pain.
“Fuck off” he said coldly as he loosened his tie and threw it at her “and keep your disgusting hands off me”
Tears cascaded down her face as Abigor snapped his fingers and instantly two of his guards held her by the shoulder.
“NO! LEAVE ME!” she shouted.
“Show her a good time or throw her away” he said as he walked away, followed by Karl on his toes.
“NO! I’M SORRY”
Her screams filtered out as Abigor once again immersed in the thoughts of his lady.
“Hm, now then” he hummed after sitting inside his car and looking out “What am I going to do?”
“You again?”
