CHAPTER FOUR: HE TOOK MY DAUGHTER!
VALENTINA’S POV
Damian walked into the room, I stared into the face of that traitor, my hands were shaking violently, I never knew I would see him again! I never wanted to see him again, not after what her did to Ava and I.
“Okay so does someone care to explain what is going on here?” Diego asked looking very intrigued with a smile on his face.
“This…” I started angrily.
“This is my ex-girlfriend. Valentina. We dated a very long time ago.” Damian said cutting me off and then giving me a warning look. I know what that look mean, I also know how ruthless Damian can be if anyone goes against him, I have seen him slit a man’s throat.
“Oh so that is what the fuss is about.” Diego grinned.
“Valentina my dear, it doesn’t matter if my brother here was your boyfriend what matters now is that you belong to me now. I mean out with the old in with the new, I’m I right brother?” Diego asked looking at Damian with a warning look.
“Yes.” Damian cowered.
“Great, now that that’s settled. Valentina baby I need you to leave, my brother and I have a very serious conversation to have.” Diego said looking at Damian. Damian looked away.
I’m not sure how I was able to walk out of the room, my knees were wobbly. Why do I have to be involved with the Fernandez brothers? I wonder what they would do when they find out about Ava.
***
Immediately I saw the black car pull up in front of my apartment I knew it was him, he hasn’t changed one bit, the same jet black hair, the same snobby expression everything. I watched him from my window as he knocked on the door. I ignored it, I hope he goes away quietly, I really don’t want any trouble with the Fernandez brothers, I just have to find a way to get away from Diego and leave town before he finds out about everything.
“Come and let me in now Valentina.” Damian said as his eyes locked with mine in the window.
“Momma who is that?” Ava asked when Damian walked in.
“Nobody go and play.” I replied sending her away to her room. Thank God she did not protest.
“Momma?” Damian asked.
“You have… I… we have a child?” He stuttered. My heart started to beat fast.
“She’s my child not yours Damian.” I shrugged. I can’t let him find out about Ava, about my pregnancy, about how he had hurt me when he slammed the door in my face that night. I needed him then but I don’t anymore.
“Oh cut the crap Valentina… we both know she’s mine. So let me get this straight, after everything you did to my family you have the guts to get pregnant for me, have my baby and then get together with my brother to spite me?” Damian asked, his eyes were red with rage.
How can this be happening? How can I be caught up with the Fernandez family again after everything my family went through in their hands. After what they did to father and Sidney, after everything.
“You dare to show your face in front of us after everything your family did!” He yelled.
“Your family?! You were the ones who…!” I started to yell. Tears streaming down from my eyes.
“Who what? Huh? Killed your father! That is nothing compared to what we had to face Valentina! You destroyed my family! Diego was fine before all that! Do you know how long we had to wait around his bed side? Not knowing if he would come out of his coma?! Do you know how hard it was when he lost his memory! Tell me Valentina Sanchéz!” Damian yelled.
“Get out of my house!” I yelled as I tried my best to stop the tears from coming.
“Get out!” I yelled again. He turned around to leave and then suddenly turned back to me and wrapped his hands around my neck, lowered his lips to mine, I couldn’t stop my lips from melting into his, my hands trailed its way down his body, tracing his abs through his cloth, I wanted more, much more than I’ve ever wanted from anyone.
“I will leave for now but I will surely be back.” He said suddenly peeling his lips off mine. I stood there for sometime distraught staring at the opened door wondering why I still feel this raw desire for Damian in spite of what they did to us. Why is fate being so cruel to me? Why is everything repeating itself all over again? Everything is happening like it did five years ago.
“Momma who was that?” My four year old daughter Ava asked when she came out of her room.
“It’s nobody sweetheart.” I replied still crying my eyes out.
We have to leave this town, Ava and I. It’s the only way we can get away from the Fernandez.
I loaded up our suitcases into my car. My daughter was already in the car when a car pulled up in the driveway.
I knew it was so I got down from the car.
“Momma will be back soon okay?” I said to Ava, she nodded as she continued to play a game on her tablet.
“How dare you show up at my house” I said to Diego. He was standing in front of me with his hands in his pocket and a coy smile on his face.
“I heard you were leaving.” He stated.
“I had to let you know that that is impossible. You see Valentina, you are mine and I will never let you get away.” He added.
“Bring her into the car.” He ordered the two bodyguards by his side.
“No no no.” I protested with tears in my eyes, I was feeling myself starting to drift away as one of them placed something over my nose and dragged me into the car.
“Momma.” I heard Ava say.
“Ava.” I said weakly.
“Wait you have a daughter?” I heard Diego ask as I slipped into a state of oblivion.
*
“She’s mine! Stay the fuck away from her brother if you want to stay alive!”
“No! Valentina and I are getting married! She loves me not you!”
“It’s true Dee, I love him!”
“You both will not get away with this betrayal!” He yelled aiming the gun at his brother and firing.
“Noooo! What have you done!” I yelled, crying.
“Nobody must ever find out about this.” He replied panicking.
“Valentina wake up!” You were yelling in your sleep.
I squinted trying to see clearly. Lori? When did she get here? What I’m I doing on my bed? The last thing I remember is being drugged and dragged into Diego’s car.
“Where is Ava?” I asked panicking.
“Where is my daughter?” I yelled ago.
“I don’t know? She wasn’t here when I got here, I thought she was in school or something.” Lori replied confused.
“Oh no! No he took her! He took my baby!” I sobbed.
“I have to go and find her!” I replied getting up from the bed. Immediately my door bell rang.
There was a man in a tuxedo and a top hat.
“He said you should be ready in an hour if you want to see her again.” The man said in the poshest British accent as he handed me a box. My heart started to beat fast as I opened up the box. There was an expensive looking sheer couture gown, a stiletto and a jewelry set. It had a note, I tossed the other things aside and grabbed the note.
“Be early, Ava is counting on it.” The note read. I felt my heart fall into my stomach. Ava, why would he do this? No not my daughter!
Without another thought I rushed into the dress, shoes and the jewelry set. With tears still streaming down my cheek, I packed my hair in a bun and headed out the door.
“Where are you going?” Lori asked utterly confused.
“If I’m not back by tomorrow file a missing person’s report.” I replied as I shut the door. A car was waiting for me in front of my house. I could not stop thinking of Ava, imagining what horrible things they might have done to her as the car rode on. I brought this upon my daughter, I should have left this town five years ago, I should have left after the Fernandez caused Sidney’s accident, after they killed Dad, I should have left after Diego lost his memory, he was the only one that could protect me from Damian. I should have left with our daughter.
The car stopped in front of the mansion. It looked exactly the same, all the terrible memory began to flood in.
The three of them; Diego, Damian and their father Raphael Fernandez were standing in front of me with Ava in front of them.
“I remember everything Valentina.” Diego said, his expression completely unreadable.
