Party

“No! My parents won’t accept. Leave about them. Your mom will literally kill you.” I said while eating my ice cream.

Anna made her puppy face which made me huff. She always makes me, not only me she can make anyone agree to her just with her cute puppy face.

We were in a park eating ice cream while enjoying the cool and fresh evening breeze on our skins.

“We decided it in our high school days. Did you forget?” Anna yelled sadly.

I held her hand saying “Come on Ann! I too want to go and enjoy but how could we?”

Wondering about what we both were discussing? It’s about woods party. Don’t think we celebrate with woods or something other like that. Every year, in woods near the town, there would be a party for our college students which was organized by us; the students. Every student was welcomed.

I heard about it through a senior in my high school days. The party will be arranged near the lake at night. With beautiful decorative lights, fireworks, bonfire, food varieties from many countries, music and passing comet sometimes, the party always look ecstatic. But there’s one thing, that makes a person like me would hesitate to go. There would be booze and anyone would do anything to others if they are interested and even if not interested anything could happen. Just for a night. No strings attached. Drink, enjoy, spend a night and go to routine the next day. The party was legalized so the cops wouldn’t interfere.

Ignoring the booze and all things, it would be a good place to enjoy and forget everything for a night. Almost every student would go there. Even girls like me would go. Most of the college students dream in this town to go there. I too wanted to see it atleast once in my life but when I asked about it many days back my dad warned me to not go there as he was afraid of the things that could happen. I tried to convince him but he didn’t listen.

Anna snapped her finger and said “Idea! We'll inform that we both will be going to stay over in Lily or Maggie or whoever’s house. Enjoy the party and return to houses the next morning.” She gave her toothy grin.

I narrowed my eyes and crossed my arms listening to her. I raised my eyebrow shouting “No. Do you hear me? It’s a NO.”

“Stella! Please. For me.” She held my hand and bent her head down. She mumbled “I’m afraid something would happen between Roman and some other girl.”

Though she mumbled in a very low tone, I heard her.

“What?” I widened my eyes. She left her grip on me and kept silent.

“So you are thinking to go for him?”

She nodded her head as Yes and I scoffed.

“Okay let’s imagine we would go there and even if Roman be enjoying with some other girl, how can we stop? Besides who knew with how many girls he spent before?” I rolled my eyes.

“Stella please! My mom will never send me if you won’t come with me. Please. Please. Even you want to go there, right?” she pleaded.

“Ann...”

“Please Stella! You are the only friend I have in my life. You are my bestie. My sissy. You, you...”

I laughed hearing her stupid talk and said “Stop it.”

“So you are accepting?”

I thought for a while and nodded my head. But I couldn’t lie to my parents. If I tell the truth they won’t allow me to go. And I couldn’t convince this stubborn Auburn. God! What should I do?

We both stood from the chairs and walked to our houses. The day I prepared to how to lie to my parents. I felt bad for it but I convinced myself that I’m not doing anything wrong. Just doing good for my friend. Moreover it’s not like I never lied to my parents. I lied many times but small lies.

The next day; Saturday. It’s the night of woods party. It was already evening and I was pacing back and forth tensed. I was cracking my knuckles while preparing myself to lie. I got call from Anna and she told me to go to her house to pick her up. Her mom won’t send her till I reach her house.

I got ready in a casual skirt and top. I didn’t wear any party dress because I should look casual infront of my parents. I strolled to the living room taking my books.

“Dad! I’m going to my friend’s house. It may get late or I may stay over there.”

“Going where?” my mom came out from kitchen with spatula in her hand.

I gulped when I heard her voice. I took a deep breath and said confidently “Mom! I already told you that Anna and I are going to Mia's house. I have something to discuss about my dance as well as studies.”

I choose to tell Mia's name as she was a dancer and a bright student like me. Anna and I stayed in her house for late night studies in my high school days so my mom wouldn’t get doubt. I asked Mia to help us and she accepted in an exchange of doing her assignments the whole year.

My mom was looking at me with her raised eyebrow like she caught me lying.

“What?” I shouted.

“Why didn’t you go in the morning?” my mom asked.

“Mia had works mom. Anna too had works. What should I do?”

She raised her eyebrow saying “I heard there’s a party at woods."

My heart hammered to chest listening to her but I didn’t back off from telling my stupid lies.

“Yeah Mom. I heard it. My friends asked me to go with them but I didn’t.”

When my mom was about to say something, my dad interrupted her saying “Let her go. She is grown up. She know what she is doing.”

That’s it. I felt regret. I’m sorry dad. But it’s for Anna. Okay I won’t lie about two topics at the same time. I’m sorry dad. I too wanted to go.

The horn of the car from outside made us turn towards the door. Mia was waiting for me in her car. My parents saw her and convinced that I was heading to her house.

“I trust you Stella. Don’t break it.” My dad said looking at me.

I hugged him and felt guilt. I said “Dad! I don’t do anything wrong. Trust me.”

Then I started to Anna's house in Mia's car. After answering to her mom and convincing her, Anna too started with us. We then reached Mia's house. We relaxed for a while and again we three started to go to party. Yeah! Mia too going there. It’s nearly seven we reached the party.

I looked around and damn! It was really beautiful. The lights that were attached to the branches of the trees made the dark night glow. The starry sky and cool icy breeze that’s striking my skin made my lips curved up with smile. My nostrils filled with the smell of many food varieties. I saw a lot of people dancing to the music that had been sounding heavy which made me feel like even the ground was vibrating. If I hadn’t lied, I might definitely missed a best party. That much amazing it was.

As soon as Mia saw her boyfriend she ran to him leaving us. Anna kept searching for Roman while dragging me with her. I saw Harry and Roman sat on the chairs along with few other girls. A girl stood behind Harry and wrapped her hands over Harry’s neck. Leaned a bit front, she was kissing his cheek. Anna’s face lit up when she saw her Roman.

We both sat on the chairs near to them. Suddenly Harry’s gaze fell on mine and I gasped. I averted my eyes and saw Ben making out with a girl. Ignoring them, I kept enjoying the music. A girl strolled to Roman and whispered something in his ear then kissed on his lips that made Anna furious.

That girl then walked away. Anna walked to her and poured drink on her dress intentionally but she covered up like it was a mistake. I laughed looking at her. Then Anna stood near Roman like she was guarding him.

I stood from my place, ate the varieties a little and they were so tasty. I enjoyed being there and sat on the chair again.

“Never thought a nerd like you would come here.” I heard Vickie’s voice from behind.

She walked around and sat in front of me. She kept sipping her alcohol while looking at me.

“Came to seduce boys?” she laughed.

“Oh Vickie! I’m not blessed with those things. And I don’t know how to do slutty things like you.” I retorted.

“Bitch.” She muttered and strolled away.

I rolled my eyes and kept drinking my juice. The music was tempting me to stand and dance but I was controlling myself.

“Stella!” I let out a sigh hearing Harry’s husky voice. I raised my head and looked at him with my raised eyebrow.

“Why did you come here?” his tone was serious.

Ignoring him I kept scrolling my cell phone. He sat in front of me shouting “How did your dad send you here?” he gritted his teeth.

I didn’t understand his strange behaviour. It was making me irritated.

“What’s your problem? I came by myself. I’m not a kid anymore.” I replied.

“Yeah! The little girl who doesn’t even know how to drink, came for booze party.” He laughed.

Damn! Why the hell everyone calls me as a little girl? I’m a bloody college student.

Giving him an angry look, I stood from there. I went to drinks counter and saw vodka glasses in a small tray. There was a water bottle too beside that. I saw Harry looking at me. I turned and made my back face him. I poured vodka that was in the glasses on the ground and filled them with water. Turning to Harry, I took a glass. Harry’s eyes went widened and shouted “No.”

Before he reach me, I drank it. He was hell confused. While I was drinking water; vodka in his view, he took the glass from me yelling. I acted like I was drunk. Thanks to all film actors.

“See! I can drink. I’m not a little girl.” I said pinching his nose.

His brow was furrowed and held my arm.

“Stella! You are not staying here. We are going home.” He said seriously.

I pushed his hand from my arm shouting “You are no one to order me. I do whatever I want. Don’t be bossy around me.”

Saying that I drank many glasses of water. I ran towards few people who were dancing. I began dancing too. Anna came towards me to stop but I told her everything and she left calmly to guard her Roman again. Harry was irritated and kept looking at me angrily. Even Ben was looking at me but I ignored him. Vickie joined in the dance and it felt like she was competing with me. I again went to the counter and drank many glasses of water.

I kept dancing but ooh! My head felt like spinning. I looked at Vickie who was dancing great and I couldn’t see her like that. I danced better than her. Soon it became a competition between us. And yeah! Everyone was cheering for me. I didn’t understand what I was doing. I kept drinking whatever the server brought. I made Vickie fell to the ground and kept laughing. Cursing me, she left the place.

Whoa! What am I feeling? Everything was blurred. OMG Harry has a twin. Wait. Not only Harry. Everyone has twin. Oh someone was pushing me. Who the hell? I turned back to see who was pushing me. Oops! No one. Air was pushing me. I was losing my balance. I put hands on my forehead and suddenly a thing consumed me – DARKNESS.
