David Gomez

"Alison!" When I arrive at our school's gate, Franxine's scream of my name is the first to greet me before I enter the school.

"Good morning," she said, her smile making me frown.

"What's wrong, and why are you smiling this morning?" I said as she handed me the paper she was holding.

"We passed the potion test! I thought we'd fail because you didn't study," she explained, so I grabbed the paper she was holding and saw that I was second among those who passed while she was third rank. Wayne remains the undisputed leader of the pack.

"Anyways, have you eaten yet?" she inquired.

I folded the paper I was holding and handed it back to her.

"Yes," I said briefly before we resumed our trek.

"Just wait," she replied abruptly, and I stared at her. "Let's wait for your boyfriend. He's on his way," she replied, and I grimaced.

"What?" I inquired.

"Let's wait for your boyfriend. He's on his way," Sh reasoned at first. David, whom he called my boyfriend,' quickly came to mind.

"Don't say you helped that person get into our school?" She wrinkled her nose when I inquired, then smiled and nodded.

"That's it. Don't you want it? You can join your boyfriend here in--"

"First and foremost, Franxine, let me clarify that I don't love him, and second, I don't know that man. Didn't I tell you he won't learn anything here at our school because people's study methods are different from our witch?" I remarked irritably, and she pouted and clutched my arm.

"Don't be angry, Alison; he's poor because he said he wants to learn what we're studying, so I'll take care of him."

"I mean, we'll take care of him," she said, so I let go of her grip on my arm and approached her.

"You can join him, just don't talk to me again," I grumbled.

"Alison, give him a chance to enter. I believe he'll learn something."

I ignored her and continued walking.

"Alison, listen to me first."

"Franxine!" Franxine and I turned back at the gate when someone screamed her name; my blood ran colder as I saw David, the man pleading with Franxine to help him get into this school.

"Hey, you're here. Good morning," Franxine said nervously, then looked at me. "Alison..." Franxine said, and I glared at her evilly, then at David.

"I have the outcome of yesterday's screening test here. Take a look," he added, handing Franxine the envelope. I became exhausted and resumed my trek. Franxine and David came after me.

"Hmm, the three of us are in the same section, which means you passed the screening. Let me double-check your screening results." That's what I heard Franxine say. I grimaced; the man couldn't pass the screening, and I'm sure he paid a lot of money to do so. The school's screening is too stringent for anyone or anything to pass.

"99.8% superhuman strength? I thought you were human?" Franxine's remarks paused me, and I looked over at David, who was rubbing his chin.

"Yes, I'm human, but I'm not sure why the screening came out like that," he explained, so I approached Franxine and asked for the subsequent paper of David's test to read.

Result: 99.8% non-human, .2% human.

David Gomez, Age: not clarified.

I turned to face David, who was staring at me. "How much did you pay?" I inquired, and he grimaced.

"What exactly do you mean?" he asked.

"Can you tell me how much you paid them for your screening result to be like this?" I inquired.

"I didn't spend any cent from them. As a result, they gave me a section and this uniform," he said, referring to our school's outfit. Only then did I realize what he was pointing to. I slammed the paper back into his hands, and he raised an eyebrow.

"If you don't want to listen to me, it's up to you. It's up to you to suffer in the school you chose." I told them, and they walked away from them.

I'm still determining what went into the man's mind, and he chose our school. He knows he's a human being and that people won't work in this school since they can't do anything; they're ordinary beings who know nothing about magic or spells.

I was the first to enter the classroom. I sat down instantly and then looked out the window next to me. My eyes again caught the tree where the insane woman stood; I immediately looked at the other, rolled my eyes, and took a long breath.

I shouldn't think about her.

After a few moments, Franxine and David entered. When Franxine stared at me, I rolled my eyes, and David raised an eyebrow when he sat beside me.

"Who told you to sit down beside me?" I inquired.

"Oh, I am." Franxine's groin caused me to scowl. "He requested that he sit in the back, so I just gave him my seat; I'll sit in front of him." Her answer made my blood boil.

I closed my eyes. But as I closed my eyes, some images and concepts emerged from my mind that I couldn't place.

"Alison."

"Me...li...s..sa"

When I opened my eyes and found David holding me, I yanked his hand away from my shoulder and looked at him evilly.

"Do you want?" he asked, holding the bubblegum in front of me. I shook my head, my attention drawn to the image I saw.

Melissa? Who is she? And how come I saw those images earlier?
