Chapter 2

Nick's POV

I remember when I was younger, and I first learned about mates. I never understood the feeling of being fulfilled. Yes, I had a mate when I was younger, I only knew her for 1 month before she was killed. My second closest mate relationship was with Bryn. Even till this day the mention of her name, makes me uncomfortable and depressed.

She wasn't my true mate, but I still loved her with my heart and soul. Then she was kidnapped and eventually killed some time in the last ten years. Her true mate Jake has gone mentally insane, not insane like goes on rampages or suicidal. Insane like he believes she's still alive, which we all seem to know she's not but him. She's been gone for 10 years and her mind link been cut off meaning she and her wolf is dead.

He still believes she's alive and continues to try to find her whenever he had time he's completely nuts. I've been fully mated with Amelia for 9 years now, and I've never felt more perfect. We got married 2 months after we fully mated and had our first child 5 years later. She gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl and after many arguments she insisted we named her Bryn. The gesture warmed the hearts of everyone in the pack, especially Jake.

Being a male, I always wanted a son of my own, and luckily, we had our second child 6 months ago. A handsome baby boy with my nose, cheeks, mouth, hair, but he had her heart melting eyes. His name was Michael and he was born a lot larger than Bryn, because he had strong warrior and Beta blood coursing through his veins.

Tonight, we were having our monthly family dinner, our group has grown so tight we're basically are family. There are no secrets untold within our family, we treat each other equally. I was in Amelia and my room, standing in front of the mirror doing my tie.

"Daddy!" My little sweetie screeched as she ran into the room and I smiled picking her up. "Hey Bryn, what's up?" I asked and she pouts her mother's lips at me. "I don't want to go to dinner!" She whined and gave me a look that almost tempted me to stay here and cuddle her all day. "Sweetie you have to, Auntie Bryn would be disappointed if you don't" Bryn knew who she was named after, didn't tell her about the rogues, but I told her she was an amazing woman who died before she was born.

Bryn nods her little head, and I put her down and she runs out of my room. Following her mother who's beckoning her into her room to get changed. Sometimes it hurts how much my daughter reminds me of Bryn, she's beautiful, stubborn and the strongest girl I've ever meet.

I smelled the intoxicating smell of my wife as she walked up in front of me and took my tie out of my hands and does it for me. Sometimes I believe women met up in private and learn how to do ties, so that they can make us males look stupid. Because whatever they did, they can definitely tie my tie better than I can.

"You seem stressed" She tells me, and I smile, she was always so observant. She knew how I was feeling, before I even knew it myself. "I'm just thinking" I replied as she finished with my tie and wrapped her arms around my neck. "What about?" She asks giving me a sweet innocent kiss on the lips. "I just wish sometimes Bryn would still be here, she was my best friend since we were children" I tell her, and she smiles sympathetically.

"I've never met her, but she sounds like an amazing women" She tells me, and I smile nodding. "She was, she was the best fighter I've ever met, and her pranks were crazy" I tell her with a smirk remembering the last prank she pulled. My mate giggled "What did she do?" She asked and I smiled remembering how embarrassed we all were.

"She glued Chase to his bed, draw a face on Lucas, stole all our clothes except our underwear. She dyed our underwear pink by the way, then she woke us up at 6 in the morning to walk down stairs in front of an entire pack wearing pink boxers" I said and she burst out laughing, "Oh my god are you serious?!" She asks when she finally stopped laughing.

"I'm not kidding" I said, and she grinned clearly amused. "Why would she do something so mean?' She asked and I shrugged, "Like a said she was a really good fighter, and sparing with her was like surrendering because you already knew you were going to lose, so she got mad that only I fought with her" I said and she nodded her head still smiling like crazy.

"Come on were going to be late" She said, and I nodded, we grabbed Bryn and Michael before leaving our apartment and walked downstairs into the packs leaving room. We all moved into the same pack and got a large house together next door to the pack house. Just like the house Bryn and us boys shared when we lived at our old pack.

When we arrived, everyone was already seated at the table, and stood up to greet us as we walked in. I gave Lucas, Charlie, and Chase a bro hug along with their mates. In the last ten years everyone in our group found their mates. Louise was Lucas's mate and she had long brown wavy hair and green sparkling eyes. Annabel was Chase's mate, she had blonde hair and rare purple eyes. They were both mischievous and played the occasional prank together, but not often since it brought the memory of Bryn back. Melissa was Charlie's mate and they were expecting their first child in 1 month, she had straight short black hair that went down to her shoulders. All the girls were beautiful and were perfect for the boys.

"Ok guys let's sit down to eat" Jake says and we all sit down at the table besides our mates. I feel sorry for Jake, we all have our mates, children, and babies on the way while he's all alone in this world and I'm afraid he'll always be alone...
