[16] Her Sanity!
Ruby was apprehensive throughout the rest of the day and even at night, she couldn't sleep as her dreams were plagued with one nightmare after another.
She did not dare go near Lolita's room to call her out for dinner. There was no saying that the snake wouldn't just bite her for disturbing them with her knocks.
She couldn't help wondering how Lolita did it but one thing she was sure of is that Lolita is a child of mystery. From her deeds at a young age till now, Ruby knew she shouldn't be awed by her anymore.
However, the snake issue is something she would definitely enquire about once Lolita comes down.
As Ruby was tossing and turning in her sleep due to nightmares, Lolita was having the most confusing dream ever. She couldn't understand anything going on and just couldn't help asking herself over and over "How did I get here?"
She was suddenly standing in a very beautiful garden with a few servants plucking some rare and unidentifiable herbs for an extremely beautiful lady.
Lolita knew of elves from the fantasy books she had read and could identify the beautiful lady before her as one.
Skin like that of jade, light green in color, a very pointed nose, and long ears that were pointed at the tip. She couldn't help wondering what the lady was doing with the strange device before her.
In her sitting position, she could even direct her bow and arrow to hit the approaching enemies in any direction she wills it. She was working and shooting arrows like her arrows had eyes of their own. Such marksmanship was impeccable.
She was actually making medicine with certain equipment that Lolita had never seen before. However, when the female elf was done, she turned around and smiled at Lolita, only for her to see the face change to her very own face.
She then finds herself at a place filled with wolves who were at a gathering with one leading them. It seemed their pack was preparing to fight another wolf pack.
Lolita, however, saw that the wolf leading them switched to the body of a human, and each one of them switched after her.
The leader was so beautiful that Lolita couldn't help comparing her to the elf princess she had just seen.
As the group run along to fight their opponent, Lolita realized that she could not see anyone else around but the wolves kept running until they finally met up with their targets and a fight then broke out.
Their speed was out of this world. It is nothing Lolita had ever encountered in her short life.
The princess led her people to victory and also turned around in Lolita's direction with a pained expression. Blood dripped from her sword ceaselessly, even though she wasn't hurt in the slightest.
Just like Annabel the elf princess, Monella the werewolf royal also changed to Lolita immediately their eyes met.
Then Lolita saw a vampire on a battlefield throwing her fist in the air which sent dozens flying. She seemed to be the center of attention as everyone tried to incapacitate her but none could even get as close as three meters to her.
Again, Lolita couldn't make out the opponents but saw that the red lady was winning. She identified her as a vampire due to her blood-red hair, the scarlet eyes that screamed blood, and the strength she was displaying.
Celine, the vampire princess turned around with a worried look, despite the victory she had won for her people and Lolita still saw her face looking back at her in worry.
Suddenly, she saw the three people being killed at different locations as an ambush was awaiting them all after the battle. However, the killers always search for something they couldn't find in any of them.
Lolita felt like she died three times in a short span of a few seconds. When she finally woke up with a start, she was sweating profusely and was a little disoriented for a while before coming back to her senses.
Lolita realized she was in her room and felt relief wash over her. Then suddenly, like a flash, the experience replayed in her mind and she became confused.
What kind of dream was that? What kind of world had red skies and yellow clouds? Why did she feel like she just fought a fierce battle?
The names of the three princesses dangled on her lips and she couldn't help saying "Annabel, Monella, Celine"
At the mention of their names, she felt bitter for no reason and told herself that it was because she just watched them die.
"Who are you people and how could you be so str...ong..." At this point, she remembered her deeds earlier on in the day.
Then the overlapping faces came to mind and she was startled. Lolita didn't want to entertain the thought of possessing the strength or abilities of a strong elf, an extremely brutal vampire, and a warrior werewolf who all happened to be young women.
She felt that such should be the only explanation for her exploits in the day but wouldn't allow herself to think on that lane.
Lolita had been a little girl with the strength of many adults since she was young. It only took the intervention of grandma Clint to have her behave like children her age would. She became more self-conscious and ended up recoiling into herself.
She became more and more introverted and kept solely to herself until the day she saved Xavier and became friends with him, albeit with much difficulty.
All these began to ring a bell but Lolita wasn't having any of it. She might as well agree she's an alien from space.
Lolita discovered without any form of doubt that, she was different from others. However, seeing how different she is now, she goes into a lot of thought but decided to let sleeping dogs lie for her own sanity.
