[11] A Good Lesson!
Professor Mason was left confused and utterly speechless. He couldn't place his hands on what could have made the young lady so worked up that she had to walk out on them in such anger.
He is however certain that the source of the anger is well known to the red-haired lady before him.
He couldn't help looking at Rubeetha's way upon the realization that she knew even more about his student than he did.
Professor Mason couldn't help the thought "who is this Alpha Gavin anyway?"
Rubeetha only gave him a fake smile and said, "I say we have a deal, Mr. Mason." After that, she picked up her handbag and walked out of the office in hurried footsteps.
She wished to catch up with Lolita and grab her hands to confirm what she's been feeling! She needed to confirm her thoughts at all costs.
The poison used on Gavin was a strong one that no one in this alternate space could neutralize. She had to find out what happened on that fateful day.
Did Gavin get help while he was at Lolita's house or did Lolita save the Alpha?
No matter how she thought about it, both scenarios seem too far-fetched. There is no logic in both assertions, as much as 'decay' is concerned.
No experienced medicine man in this alternate space has the requisite expertise to cure the Alpha Gavin, much less Lolita.
Decay is a poison that eats into organs in the body slowly, making the victim wish for death, which rather takes its sweet time before laying its icy hands on the victim.
As it is a poison developed by vampires, decay is very fatal when used on other races who have a relatively shorter lifespan as compared to vampires.
Vampires are close to immortals because they live for many centuries as opposed to other races that can only live for a century at most.
However, there is only one item that could end their long life prematurely, and it can be found nowhere in the Vampire kingdom, for their own safety.
The victims of decay experience pain so excruciating that they may wish to end their own lives, and some even succeed in doing so.
The mystery however is that it takes quite a long time for healers to diagnose or even identify the poison, much less find the cure.
It was one of the main weapons of the vampires whenever they wish to wipe out their enemies. Decay was used so frequently in the war that, in time, even ordinary people could identify the deadly poison. However, not many could find a cure.
No matter how 'decay' works against people of other races, the vampires have it differently. To a vampire, decay is a death sentence that is pronounced on very serious offenders.
The organs decay, the victims bleed from the various orifices and become incapacitated. They live in so much excruciating agony before their eventual death.
However, they could still live for many years through the slow decaying process. Other races, however, are lucky enough to live through it for only a maximum of three days.
How then did Gavin and Lolita, or even the werewolves of the Dark-dawn pack manage to cure Gavin? How did he even get to live till the third day without becoming a vegetable?
The only reasonable explanation is that the superimposed triton is somewhere around them.
She only needs to watch them closely and her half-century-long wait in this damn place will be over.
Rubeetha was in deep thought about why Lolita was so infuriated by the mention of Alpha Gavin.
Then, like a light bulb, something suddenly dawned on her and she just couldn't wait to exploit this misunderstanding to her benefit.
She felt very happy for the first time in a very long time."Seems like the forces are with me after all."
Through all her deductions and calculations, Rubeetha never considered that the superimposed triton had been around her all along. Lolita Clint was not part of those she would even bother considering.
She wasn't even sure whether the triton was male or female.
However, Rubeetha had the thought that if she should get to the Alpha Gavin, she might as well make good use of the little girl. After all, even if she didn't cure Alpha Gavin, which she could swear could never be the case, Lolita gave him a place to lay his head in the least.
Now that the alpha has gone radio silent, Rubeetha reckoned she could call him out by using a tragedy. "Mmm! What do these mortals even call it?...mmmm...Ah yes!...A knight in shining armor! The knight must save the princess today!"
After deciding that, Rubeetha fished for her phone and called one of her cronies. She described Lolita and left instructions for her to be taught a good lesson. However, they were not allowed to kill her.
It was such a joke to even think of teaching Lolita Clint a lesson, but the ignorant they say is indeed fearless. The group was really in for a good beating to present themselves on a silver platter to a terribly pissed-off Lolita.
While on her bike towards the outskirts of town, Lolita was speeding on the highway when she suddenly spotted a group consisting of about fifteen people drawing closer and closer to her. She needed no soothsayer to confirm that they were on her trail.
Some were in vans and others were on motorbikes just like her.
As soon as Lolita spotted them, she knew who and what they were, or so she thought. Coming to the understanding that werewolves really exist, she felt so vexed to have been pursued by this group of werewolves again.
"He sent you to finish the job huh!" Can't disappoint you can I?"
With that said, she increased her speed further and led the group away from the city. Onlookers misunderstood them to be a group of racers having a harmless competition.
As a result, they were rather admired for their skills.
Most noticeable among them was the lady in front. It is not every day that a lady rides a motorbike so well.
