Chapter 2
"Jake, what the fuck did I tell you last time?", The strange man gulped as he walked pass me heading towards the other guys.
I turned to look at Jake just as the man had said, and it happens to be the guy who had hatched the kidnap in the first place. Jake was just as startled as I was. He had no words to alter, infact he was looking around as if he was looking for a way out of the area we were in.. I had already concluded within me that I would never let mother send me out on an errand ever again, she would have to go on her own.
"Guys", the tall man said as four muscular men came in front of him.
"Get rid of them. I have tried in giving this assholes alot of chances", he finalized.
The men without a second thought, lowered their height, standing on their kneels and began pleading for his forgiveness calling him Sylvester. Sylvester stood there with no expression on his face other than bother. He just stood there and watched his men release fire at the other guys. Sylvester approached me and realized I was trembling in fear, the cold weather had no effect on me anymore; as I had completely forgotten it was winter. With his scowling face, he tried to touch me, but I flinched.
"Who are you, and what are you doing here at this time of the night?", He asked.
I was completely terrified to reply his questions, so I just kept my mouth shut, and refused to give him any response. Noticing that I was scared to reply, he let out his hands to help me stand.
"I..I" I stammered.
"I was actually going to the store, when this animals dragged and tried to", I couldn't finish my sentence, as I began to cry all over again.
My crying wasn't just because of the assault and embarrassment I had faced, but it was also painful as my mother was the one responsible for the condition I was in at the moment. I suddenly began to feel the cold weather once again, and began shivering in a way that I didn’t want Sylvester to know. Funny enough Sylvester understood the sign. He pulled out his jacket and placed it on my shoulders. He would have actually found it funny because it looked big on me, but instead he remained serious.
"Go home, everything is okay now, you are now safe. And believe me when I say that this bastards won't ever bother you or anyone else", Sylvester said with full assurance.
I widened my eyes a bit, although not really getting his plans; I still found it had to believe he was genuine. It was at this point I observed his features, his brown eyes glued to mine, and it somehow gave me a protective feeling that I was In safe hands. I slowly began to calm down, although still alerted and startled of course. He is quite too tall for my liking, as he was much more taller than I was. I was just 159cm tall, while Sylvester was at least 190cm. I didn't really feel intimidated at that moment, because he was actually the one that saved me from this bad guys.
I was quite relieved at everything and just couldn't wait to get back home. Suddenly, I realized I was wearing his jacket and immediately took it off my shoulders. Seeing this made Sylvester furrow his brows in surprise, keeping quiet to know what I was up to.
"Sorry sir, but I think you must be cold already", I said as I stood on my toe, and tried to put back the Jacket on him the same way he had for me; but he was too tall for me to do it.
Sylvester's face suddenly softened, and he let out a chuckle. Although is was the first time I had seen him, it really looked weird to see him laugh; even his men looked at each other from a distance full of surprise. I turned around to know what was making him laugh, only to discover that I was the reason. I felt quite ashamed of the situation, and had to bring my hands down, resting completely on my feet; then quietly placed it on his hand.
"I gave it to you. Now, go home with it for it's now yours. You have to start going, for it's already late. I got rid of those assholes, but that doesn't mean all is well. it's still dark and cold", Sylvester said as he placed his hands on my shoulders.
He gave the jacket back to me, and started heading to his car with the guys that came along with him. I couldn't just let him walk away like that, so I immediately reacted by grabbing his wrist, to which he turned back confused.
I didn't know how I dared to do that to such a tall, intimidating muscular man who had such bad guys looks and vibes; but I still did anyways. Sylvester's men tried to approach me roughly, but Sylvester stopped them by just the raise of his hand.
"What. What if I don't want to go back home?", I asked stammering in a scared tone.
"What?", Sylvester said frowning his eyebrows in surprise.
"I..I do not want to go back home to my mother. She doesn't really care about me, and I don't really want to be there anymore", I muttered, as I suddenly began to feel completely embarrassed to say that to a total stranger; although I found him worthy of my trust.
" I'm so sorry I said this. I shouldn't have done so in the first place, I don't even know why I said that in the first place. Am so sorry, I think I should get going now", I said facing the ground in embarrassment.
Discovering that I was still holding a tight grip on his wrist, I quickly let go of it, why he just stood there, his eyes searching mine. There was a bit of silence in the air for some seconds, I wondered what his response would be. But seeing that he had refused to alter a word, I decided to find my way back home.
"You can come with me", he said rapidly.
