Chapter 5

YRENE’S POV

I was back at home, and resting on the rails of my window. I was looking out the window at the bright twinkling stars that decorated the beautiful night sky.

“You all are free, and shining the way you want, but here I am, bound to three brothers who keep ordering me about because of the mistake I made.” I voiced out in a low tone, to the air.

I exhaled sharply, and moistened my lips sadly. Remembering the new suggestion, they made which was for me to start living with them, made me shiver.

How on earth will I thrive in their midst when they do a lot of painful things to me? When I begin to stay with them, who knows what I will have to go through. Although, a part of me wanted to live with them, because come on, they are the hottest guys in town.

But I felt I couldn’t possibly have a chance with them. If Braden can leave me, then the three of them can do the same. They won’t even look at me.

I heard my mother coughing in her room as her room was next to mine, and I was worried because of the loud sound her cough was making. I rushed out of the room, and into hers, then noticed she was trying to reach out to the cup of water on her bed side desk.

I exhaled with relief that she wasn’t in a critical situation, so I walked up to the desk, and picked up the water, then gave her to drink.

“Mother, I hope you are alright?” I asked, out of concern.

“Yes, I am. In no time, I feel I’ll get better. So, you don’t have to worry too much about me, and just focus on your studies, okay?”

I put up a slight smile on my face, hoping my mother was really saying the truth and not trying to stop me from spending too much time trying to take care of her.

Then she handed the cup over to me, and I placed it on her bedside desk.

“If you need anything, call me.”

“I don’t think I’ll need anything else. I’m about to go to bed.” My mother replied as she adjusted her bed cover, and exhaled.

“Alright, mother. I’ll go to bed, too.” I said to her, then placed a kiss on her forehead. “Goodnight.”

I walked out of her room, and shut the door behind me quietly, then walked into my room. I packed my hair into a bun, then laid on my bed, felling really sleepy. I hope tomorrow was going to be really nice.

For days, the triplets kept stressing me out with their needs, and all, and I was beginning to get tired, but had to keep striving because I couldn’t afford to pay for the priceless heirloom of theirs which I broke.

Until one midnight when I was in my room, studying. My books were wide open on the desk, and my lamplight was shining bright on my book. My phone rang, and even as I dint want to check who was calling me, because I wanted to fully focus, I still had to be sure it wasn’t the triplets.

Just as I suspected, it was one of the triplets, calling me. It was Reece who had called me. I reluctantly answered the call, and looked flatly at my cupboard.

“Hello?”

“Yeah, Yrene, I need you to come over to our house right now.” He informed over the phone.

“By this time? What do I need to do? And can I just do it tomorrow morning before leaving for school?” I asked, hoping he would reconsider.

“What the hell! Just come over right now!” He yelled, and hung up.

I squeezed my phone, but not to an extent whereby it would be crushed. A low growl escaped my voice box, and I could almost scream and punch the wall several times, but I wouldn’t want to wake my mother up, or worry her.

I closed my books, packed up my hair in a messy pony tail, and walked out of the room. I opened the main door quietly so it won’t make any creaking sound that could be heard by mother, and thankfully, I was able to do that successfully. There was no cab or bus stations around, at this time.

It was so annoying that they didn’t care how I manage to get to their home by this time. Neither did they care if they were endangering my life as I was the only one walking on the street right now.

My feet were moving at a fast pace without rest, and sweat beads began to drip down to my chest, making my clothes look like someone had spilled water on me. No, my walking fast wasn’t going to get me there any soon.

I decided to run, and as I ran, my ponytail was swinging to the left and right and my side bangs plastered on my side face due to how wet they had become. The breeze went through my clothes forcefully as I increased my pace, and my heart was pumping more blood.

My arms swung back and forth to aid my running, and then I halted as soon as I got to their home. I bent and rested my hands on my knees, trying to regain my breath.

After regaining my breath, I rubbed the sweat off my face, and rang the doorbell. Kaden opened the door for me, and I walked in immediately.

“Jeez. Why do you look like you had a bath with your clothes on?” Reece exclaimed mockingly.

“And a smelly one at that.” Kaden added, teasing me.

I bit my lower lips to try my best not to blow up in anger, then I exhaled slowly. I noticed Ethan was sitting on the sofa, with his legs crossed, and he was focused on his phone, without interfering.

“You asked to see me. What do I need to do for you?” I asked, trying to keep my cool.

“Well, my brothers and I, woke up, and we were craving this delicious meal. Yeah, marinated crab and beef. We want you to cook that.” Reece said, and walked towards me, then patted my shoulder as he walked up to the kitchen to turn on the light.

Right now, my head was oozing out flames of fury, and I clenched my fists.

“You called me to do this in the middle of the night? I don’t stay too close to your home. It took me a lot of stress to get here.” I complained, but without flaring up.

“This is why we suggested you move in with us, Yrene. You are the one making things hard for yourself.” Kaden said as he folded his arms, and stared at me.

Now, the triplets were all staring at me. As much as I didn’t want to agree to it, I knew that they would keep giving me more tasks which would turn out a lot difficult as long as I still live at my home.

“Alright, alright! I will live here.” I said, through clenched teeth.
