Chapter 23
*****
Somehow Sergio had gotten Kent to come back. I had no idea how since Kent was livid and very distressed when he left and Sergio and Clyde had not even come back yet. I was sure he was done, I would have been. But here we were in the kitchen since I was still too wary to walk back into the lounge and the kitchen was at the back of the house so no bullets were going to be flying into this room.
The windows had been replaced yesterday, as well as the door. Just the couches were left and the rug had been gotten rid of because of the blood stain.
Today was a public holiday so I had nowhere to go, which usually meant today would be another day of binge watching comedy series' while snacking on popcorn I found in Sergio's room, but there was no way I was walking into that living room yet.
What type of gang leader was he storing popcorn in his room, anyway? Maybe he put it there for Sasha. Probably not. That would imply that he could care about something other than himself and his money (or 'business').
I could hear Ben and some other men talking in the hallway as they walked but that stopped when the front door sounded. I leaned back on the hind legs of the chair I was on, my hands gripping the edge of the kitchen counter to keep me from falling, so I could see straight through to the front door.
"Don't do that, you'll fall." I gave an absent-minded nod but didn't listen to Kent.
"Clyde, you're back? Sergio!"
I smiled seeing the pair walk in but my brows rose as I watched Ben beam at the sight of Sergio like a lover who had been gone for a very long time. I frowned as Sergio just waved at Ben and everyone else before they began talking but he raised his hand to silence them, motioned to Clyde and walked right by everyone. Clyde waved at Kent and me.
Someone began to protest as they followed Sergio but he shook his head.
"I have work to do; Clyde will deal with whatever it is – Kent! What's for dinner?" Sergio walked into the kitchen leaving everyone behind confused. I turned my head as he grabbed my shoulder and pushed me so all four of the chairs legs were back on the ground, but he kept his eyes on Kent.
"Dinner? We haven't even had lunch yet."
"We ate on our way here. Will you make..."
Sergio's conversation drowned out of my ears as I turned back to watching everyone else and saw Ben stare at Sergio like a puppy who just got his favourite toy taken from him while everyone else talked to Clyde about what happened during the pair’s absence and some concerns they had. I honestly felt sorry for how whipped Ben was. What's worse is that Sergio seemed completely oblivious to it.
My eyes moved back to Sergio who was still talking to Kent about food. His olive skin seemed to have gotten a little darker, sunburn I presume. Where had they gone? I had no idea how he got sunburn anyway since he was always in his car or a building. I bit my lip feeling my heart quicken in anticipation as my head filled with thoughts about us before I scowled at myself as I forced the thoughts from my head and my eyes from Sergio.
No more. His body was addictive, or at least that's what it felt like. Right now I was wishing I had never ended our little arrangement but I knew I did the right thing – like the right thing even mattered with him just a few feet away.
Damn it, Alex, Get it together. His hot, but he's not that hot.
Yeah, right.
I got up and gave Kent and Sergio greetings before I jogged my way upstairs. I was looking for something to take my mind off him, or rather his body. I decided to take a shower; it seemed to have become my therapy. It was better than cigarettes.
I walked into the bathroom and locked the doors to my and Sergio's rooms before I shed my clothing and took a shower.
When I was done, I grabbed one of the white towels beside the shower knowing Sergio used the blue ones before I dried off and wrapped it around my waist.
I walked back into my room as I began texting Oliver having received a message from him but I stumbled to a surprised stop when I noticed that someone was leaning against my desk.
I felt my face heat and my heart begin to race as Sergio visibly checked me out before he smirked as his eyes met mine. Why was my heart racing? We hadn't even touched.
"Nice clothes." He said pushing himself from the desk.
I glanced down at the towel before I frowned looking back at him as he strolled across the room.
"They would be if you left me to put them on." I said pointing to my wardrobe behind him.
"You could get dressed but then you would hide all of this. That would be a shame." I felt my face burn more as his eyes ran over me slower this time, "I have a much better idea." His voice was very suggestive, and so was the smirk he had on his face.
"Sergio..." I shook my head slowly as he stepped up to me, "We said..." my words were lost in my throat when his lips met my neck and I bit my lip trying to remember what I was going to say and also to keep from letting out a sound. I held my breath trying to keep from touching him.
"One last time..." his voice was a mumble against my neck between kisses as his warm hands trailed up my arms, "I miss... it." I opened my mouth but stopped. I tried. I swear I tried.
"One last time..." I repeated lifting my hands to his neck before I stopped again, "There are people here."
"I locked the door and I'm sure you've locked the bathroom door to my room." He replied trailing kisses up my jaw before his soft lips met mine.
"So?" I kissed him, he tasted so good, I missed the feeling of his soft lips too, "Your room's unlocked; they'll wonder where you are." I kissed him again. It felt different, I loved it, I needed more. I honestly had no idea why I was still arguing. I don't think I cared anymore.
"Alexander, they always wonder where I am." I smiled as he chuckled against my lips, his arms moving around my waist and pulling me against him, "They'll just think I left again." He added.
"The noise..." I mumbled. All of that, all the reasons why we should not were beginning to matter less and less the more his hands ran over me, the more we kissed. I really didn't care anymore. I just wanted him. Badly. I pushed closer to him as my hand ran into his hair.
"Mmm, you can be quite noisy... I guess we'll just have to keep our mouths busy." He said before he bit my lip. I chuckled lightly as he pushed me onto my bed.
I sat up to grab his shirt and pulled him down on top of me before I kissed him.
I really hadn't realised how much I missed the taste of his lips. The sound of his voice and his chuckling. His smirk. How much I missed him. I felt a rush of fear at how strongly I was physically attracted to him but that was completely over shadowed by my attraction to him, also just my thoughts generally.
It's the last time.
-----
I took a deep breath as I opened my eyes. I looked beside me to see Sergio on his chest, his arm draped over my stomach. I tried to get up bet Sergio's arm held me down beside him tightly.
"Sergio, no." I chuckled. I could hear a TV from one of the other rooms.
"I don't want to go again – I mean I do, I would but I wouldn't want to wear you out." He smirked. I rolled my eyes and he chuckled, "Just relax."
"Relax? You mean just lay here? Together? That's relationship stuff, that's breaking one of our rules." I said, even though I really wanted to.
"It's over anyway," he said turning to lean up on his elbow, his hand holding his head up while the other stayed on my stomach.
"So what? We just lay here in silence?" I asked feeling my heart beat weirdly. I just brushed it off as my body still having to cool off from our activities; I pushed anything that said differently from my mind. He smiled at me and I held my breath wishing my heart would slow down. How could someone so bad have such a nice smile?
"Yes." He said he leaned onto his back before he grabbed my arm and pulled me onto his chest.
I bit my lip nervously, a grin spreading across my face as my ear settled on his cooling, damp chest and I could hear his heart beat fast. My nervousness disappeared as I focused on his heartbeat and ran my hand onto his abs.
His finger played with my hair gently and I shut my eyes taking a breath. It was a new feeling just lying with him. I was calm but my heart wasn't slowing down, it actually felt like the opposite. I made a mental note to get that checked out by a doctor.
I listened to his heart beat slow beneath my ear and it began making me drowsy. I cuddled up closer to him running my hand up to his chest and I smirked hearing his heart beat quicken again with the movement. I then ran my hand back down onto his abs listening to his rapid heartbeat before he grabbed my hand intertwining his fingers with mine.
"Are you trying to work me up again? Lay, not cuddle." He sounded amused.
"Don't tell me what to do..." I replied in a tired mumbled before I added, "Cuddling makes you hot?" with a laugh.
"Shut up." I felt his chest vibrate beneath me as he laughed before I froze as he kissed my hair. "Good times." He pushed me off him gently as he sat up and I admired his body. He looked back over his shoulder with a smile. "You know I was being serious about that boyfriend thing: I'll be your cheating partner whenever he annoys you."
"You mean my side chick? No, thank you."
We laughed and I shook my head shutting my eyes as he got dressed. Not a chance. We might have gotten on pretty great in bed but I was about a hundred percent sure Sergio and I looked at relationships in two completely different ways. I was going to be fateful to whoever I was with and Sergio... well, I couldn't even picture him in a relationship that was about more than just sex and I had a strong feeling that he couldn't either.
"See you later." Sergio smiled making me smile back at him before he walked into the bathroom and I heard him shut and lock my door behind him.
I rolled onto my back and swallowed as I held my breath before I let it out slowly trying to slow my heart. Yes, I should get to a doctor.
