Chapter 2

I was stunned by the situation; my mate is a freaking WEREWOLF! I avoided eye contact with him and stood up. "Well it was nice to meet you guys, great to see you again Richard thanks for morning tea and Ashley I'll see you later" I said before turning to face him. " Hopefully, I'll see you later NOT!" I sprinted out of the cafeteria and ran into the closest bathroom.

He growled and chased after me, but I was too fast for him and I ran into the bathroom and locked myself in the stall. There was a loud pounding noise on the stall door, "Open the door now!" He demanded and I pulled a face in disgust.

"Get out the FUCKING girls’ room you perv!" I shouted back, he let out a frustrated moan and he walked out of the room. I started breathing again and I calmed down, I LOVE SCHOOL! I groaned out in frustration and ran my fingers through my hair.

I heard the bathroom door open "Kate, where are you?" Ashley yelled out with a worried tone. "I'm here" I said opening the door and walking out. She embraced me into one of her famous hugs, I was mad at myself for getting upset over him, I wiped away the tears before they dared to show.

Ashley let go of me but still held onto my arms in a comforting way, "You are brave and strong and beautiful and nothing can bring you down" She reminded me, those were the words she would always say to me when I was upset or after a night terror.

"Thanks Ashley" I said with a soft laugh, using my sleeve to wipe away my tears. "I'm not ready for a possessive boyfriend" I replied in a soft tone. She nodded her head in agreement and understanding. "What do I do?" I asked desperately, Ashley sent me a sympathetic smile.

"Honestly, I have no idea, he's not going to stop chasing after you, you and I both know how possessive their wolfs are" She replied letting go of my arms. "Why me?" I cried out and I froze, "WHY ME?" I cried out in pain as they left me to turn into the monster they are.

Tears rolled down my cheek, "I'm sorry I shouldn't have brought it up" Ashley quickly apologised and I shook my head. "Don't be sorry, it's not your fault" I replied as she pulled me for another hug. I'm not sure how long we stood there, but the bell rang separating us and she let go of me.

"I got to go to Calculus are you going to be okay?" She asked and I nodded, I managed to pull off a smile to lighten our spirits. "Bye" She said with a smile as she left me alone in the bathroom. I stared into the mirror and I looked awful, my eyes were sore and red, my eyelids had bags from lack of sleep and my cheeks had tears stains.

I got some water from the tap and washed away the tear stains, I combed my hair with my fingers and applied some more eye liner on to make up for it washing away. When I finally looked presentable, I walked out of the bathroom and made my way to my Food Tech class, I opened the door and walked inside.

The teacher was about to growl me for being late, but the look of depression on my weak face stopped him. He pointed to a spare seat and I sent him a weak smile. I sat down and tried my best to pay attention to his lesson about the food groups and the 5+ a day challenge he was giving us for homework.

I was actually looking forward to doing homework that involves eating and that's saying something coming from me I hate homework. We talked about vegetables that we eat the most, then we talked about their history and origin.

Let's just say learning that potatoes came from Peru, isn't the most exciting thing to learn. Finally, the bell rang, and I grabbed my bag and swung it over my shoulder. "I'm sorry I was late Mr Brown" I apologised, and he smiled. "It's fine just don't do it again" He replied, and I nodded, I walked out of the classroom and was walking down the empty corridors.

I ran over to my locker and quickly dumped all my books and grabbed my English book, I was glad it was fourth period I have Ashley I this class. The thought made me feel better as I sprinted off to class, luckily when I got there the teacher hadn't arrived yet.

Ashley was sitting at the 3rd row and she was calling me over, but it wasn't her that caught my attention it was him sitting in the back row. I did my best to ignore him as I sat down next to Ashley. "How was class?" She asked and I put on a fake sarcastic smile "It was great we learned about potatoes" I replied, and she chuckled.

Basically, all we did in English since it was our first day was write a small 2 page story in our books, I've been an excellent writer most of my life, imagine graduating high school 17 times! So basically, I'm smart but I refuse to show it.

Since I had so much free time after writing my short story in like 20 minutes me and Ashley had 40 minutes of gossip time. "Oh my gosh you should have seen how pissed off he was at you when he left the bathroom" She laughed, and I grinned.

"Yeah I'm good at pissing people off" I replied with a grin. "You're going to have to tell him eventually" She reminded me "Tell him what?" I asked, she sent me a sad smile. "The reason why he needs to back off, the reason you don't get any sleep at night, the reason why you get counselling!" She whispered in an angered tone.

"I can't tell him something that personal, I'd tell him if I knew him better like if he was Richard I would tell him" I replied and she smiled, OH NO I KNOW THAT LOOK "Whatever evil plan you're thinking off right now tell me" I demanded and she smiled evilly.

"Richard is Wade's best friend you can tell Richard and he'll tell Wade" She announced, and I have to admit, it's a good plan, wait a minute! "Why didn't you tell me you knew his name?" I asked and she shrugged. "I'd thought you would know, he's the beta's son" She replied as if he's so special.

"Yeah, I'm the future Beta's mate, good luck getting the alpha to trust me?" I explained and she sighed, "We'll get there when we get there" She replied, and I nodded my head in agreement. "Hey, do you still have Richard's number from this morning?" I asked and she nodded handing me the number.

I pulled out my phone and typed in his number "What you doing?" She asked curiously "Well if your plans going to work, I'll get him to meet us at the library at lunch" I replied, and she nodded her head agreeing to the plan.

Hey Richard, it's me Kate, can you have met Ashley and me at the library at lunch? It didn't take while for him to respond to my message.

Sure, thing but I'm going to miss out on pizza Mondays, you own me a soda! He demanded and I chuckled.

I'll buy you a soda just please come! I begged him

I handed the number back to Ashley and we talked for about 10 more minutes until lunch. When the bell rang, we left the class and Ashley dragged me in the direction of the library, but I pulled her back. "What?" She asked confused. "I need to buy a soda from the vending machine first" I reminded her, and she sighed following me back down the hallway.

I bought a $2.50 can of coke and we walked back to the library, but I stopped her before we went inside. "Ashley I'm nervous can you tell him; I'll check out a book or something?" I begged putting my hands together and pleaded her. "Okay, okay I'll tell him jeez don't get all crazy on me" She joked, and I thanked her.

We walked into the library and we could see Richard sitting at one of the study tables, he was reading something on his phone. I handed her the soda "See you soon" She said, and I smiled watching her walk over to him.

Ashley's POV

When I sat down in the chair next to him, he put away his phone and put all his focus on me. "Here's your soda" I said passing it to him. "Thank you" He said making the word you stand out. "Your welcome, we need to talk you are best friends with Wade, right?" I asked and he grinned.

"Does Kate need me to tell lover boy something?" He asked raising his eyebrow. I playfully hit his arm "She does need you to tell him something, but he's not her lover boy" I told him, and his expression turned serious.

"What does he need to know?" He asked and I took a deep breath, I could tell why she didn't want to tell him herself. "She wants him to back off for a while" I replied, and he looked confused. "Why?" He asked. "Okay I'm going to tell you something and you're going to listen, I'm only saying it once and you can ask questions when I'm finished okay?" I asked and he nodded still looking confused.

"Kate was issues, she's emotionally unstable all the time. It's rare for vampires to have red hair and every hair colour has a meaning behind it. Blonde hair like mine means you were born one, brown means your parents turned you when you were 18, black hair means you were turned for a punishment and red means..." I paused, taking a breath it wasn't easy telling him what happened.

"Red means someone turned you by force, Kate didn't even know the people who did it, they were like rogues except vampires. At least 1 or 2 times a weak she has nightmares, night terrors when she dreams of her being turned again and again and she goes to counselling and everything. She trying to get better but it's only getting worse, and the stress of a possessive mate is not helping so he needs to back off" I finally finished, and he had a sad expression on his face.

"I don't know what to say?" He replied obviously stunned about what I just told him. "All you have to do is tell Wade what I said and don't mention any of it to her, she's already had a break down today" I replied, and he nodded.

"Can I go eat lunch now?" He asked politely and I nodded he stood up and was about to leave but I pulled him back. "Thanks for being a good friend to her" I said, and he smiled. "My pleasure" He replied with a smile and we walked off.

Once he was gone, Kate came over to sit next to me. "What did he say?" She asked swallowing nervously. "He'll tell Wade" I replied, and she nodded "That's good" She replied, her face looked delicate and broken.

I pulled her into a hug, then we ate lunch together. I had a PB&J sand which and she had a donut, lucky, lucky girl I want a donut! So, we ended up halving the sand which and the donut...
