"You have Alpha Tate on the phone." My Beta Samuel says.

"Thank you." I nod as he walks out and I pick up the phone.

"Tate. Hello." I say still unsure about my decision. I take out the papers I have been looking over the past weeks before I made this request.

"Hello Ethan. You said that it was important i called you back." Tate says sounding very unsure of why i was calling. I would be too with another pack calling me unannounced of their intentions.

"Yes. I heard that you put out word looking for new territory?" I state as a question to make sure I understood correctly.

"Oh yes. We have overgrown our territory and as much as I'd like to stay, if you move more we will hit a town of people I dont want associated with. Especially sense we cant trust them." He states truthfully and I look down at my papers.

"Look. There is a property on the otherside of town. It belonged to an old pack that was wiped out. It is probably the biggest area you will find anywhere." I state jumping right into the option.

"Why would you offer up space by you?" Tate says with an edge to his voice.

"We have more than enough space and dont want to move. From what I heard is that yall dont create problems with other packs." I stop waiting to see what he says.

"We dont like conflict and my Beta likes to solve problems before they become the problems." Tate says simply letting me continue.

"I would rather a pack that I could trust move in before a pack that causes problems comes in." I state simply.

"We will have to talk some more about this proposal. What kind of territory does this look like?" Tate asks.

"It has a subdivision pushed back into the woods." I start before he cuts me off.

"One subdivision... Boy I have over 400 members." Tate bellows out a laugh.

"I wasnt finished Tate. Off the beginning of this Road to the subdivision there is a road that meets the subdivision in the back. That road has 10 Subdivisions with 30 houses each, also." I finish waiting for Tates response.

"That is a really large piece of territory." Tate says not giving me any indication on what hes thinking.

"Yes. It would be big enough for your whole pack." I state still trying to see what he is thinking. Did I over think this for the last week and hes not gonna even be interested. Did i put all my work into something that has no point? Before my mind goes to far i hear Tate mumble things on the other end before the line goes silent for a good 5 minutes.

"What's in it for your pack, Ethan?" Tate asks with a hard voice.

"I just want an understanding that we both follow the laws and no one fights." I state simply. I just want to keep my group safe with the least amount of fighting. My dad did enough damage.

"So a truce?" Tate says knowing that his pack and mine have never been at odds.

"Not really a truce. Just an understanding of the rules we create together and keep fighting away from our territories." I state knowing I sound insane to any regular wolf, but I need to start undoing my dads problems.

"You know not a lot of packs like yours." Tate states the obvious.

"If you let me ex-" I'm cut off again by Tate getting me frustrated until he starts talking.

"But I understand that was your fathers doing. From what I hear you have been doing a lot to fix your reputation of the pack. I respect that." Tate says finishing his statement making me speechless for a few moments as he decides to keep talking.

"I like the idea... But are you looking for protection?" Tate asks the question I hoped wouldnt come up.

"I'm not really sure Tate. Yes I wish that we would be protected but that's not how things work. I will always protect my pack with my life, and so will my pack." I state ignoring his question to a point.

"How about if we go through with this, I have my Beta come and give yall some extra experience in fighting." Tate suggests and I look at my Beta who walked in and he shakes his head yes.

"I think we could work something out, Tate, so what do you think?" I ask still trying to get a read on him.

"Damn it girls. Knock. I'm on the phone." Tate growls out and mumbles daughters. Daughters? I didnt know Tate had daughters. Finally his attention is back to me.

"Let me talk to my Luna and Elder for a week. I will call you next week, but I dont see a reason why not to think about it." Tate says ending the call.

My beta looks at me smiling.

"Hes gonna say yes. I'm sure of it." Beta laughs.

"I hope so." I smile still unsure of what's gonna happen. Folding up the papers to put back in the filing cabinet.

"And if you can get that Beta to get here and train! I've heard horror stories of how scary and strong his Beta is!" My Beta goes on about how great the beta is.

"Yeah. I guess it would be helpful." I answer still unsure.

"Ethan! That Beta could take on our whole pack! Could you imagine in he taught any of us his secrets?!" Beta says in disbelief that I'm not excited about this.

"I'm just still unsure on how good of a decision this is and if hes even gonna take the option." I state.

"We wont know until he calls back. Let's just keep our hopes up." Beta says walking out the door to leave me to my own thoughts.

I didnt realize that Alpha Tate and his Luna had pups. I guess you dont learn to much about other packs that are states away from you. We will learn a lot more I'm sure if they eventually move here. Thinking about Tate having a Luna it makes me think about mine. Where is she? Is she okay? Will I ever find her? Will I ever be able to go find her like my family has always done.
