Chapter 4
"You've got to be kidding me? Did you seriously go all the way down the elevator just to do that?" I groaned as I face palmed myself. Louis found that hilarious. "Why didn't you start with that information? I would've never come!" I yelled turning my glare to him. He stuck his hands in his pockets as he walked closer to me with that stupid smirk on his face.
"That's why I didn't tell you. Don't worry, I won't try anything," he promised.
"Why am I living with you?" I whined.
"You needed a place and I have one. You're so interesting. No one has ever been able to resist me, yet you can," he explained. It wasn't much of an explanation.
"What the hell?" I groaned, tempted to pull my hair out. I wanted to cry. I can't believe I got backed into a wall like this. I knew it was my own fault, but I didn't want to admit it.
"Have you eaten dinner yet?" He asked. I sighed before I shook my head. He took my hand and started pulling me toward the elevator.
"What are you doing?" I asked, ripping my hand out of his. He stopped and turned to face me.
"Dinner. Let's go," he said like it was the most obvious answer in the world. I sighed and followed him. I was starving anyhow.
"Why do you want me right under you?" I asked when we got into the elevator. He smirked and leaned in close to me, placing a hand on the wall behind me and effectively cornering me against the wall.
"Interesting choice of words," he smirked. I rolled my eyes and pushed against his chest. He didn't even budge.
"You know that's not what I meant," I countered as the elevator doors opened. He sighed and moved away from me.
"I can't tell what you're thinking, and that could be dangerous," he said as we walked out to the car.
"So what? You know what everyone is thinking?" I asked sarcastically as he opened the passenger door for me. I got in and waited for him to close the door.
"Yes... everyone except you. That bothers me, so I want to find out why," he answered before closing my door and going around to the driver's side as I laughed.
"So what, you're a mind reader?" I joked.
"No, I'm the Devil," he answered seriously. I paused before I started laughing even harder.
"At least you can admit it to yourself," I laughed. It was Louis' turn to roll his eyes.
"I'm legitimately the Devil, Megan. It's not a joke," he said as he drove off. I calmed down a hair before turning my attention to him.
"So what can the Devil do, besides read minds?" I asked rhetorically.
"I can pull out your desires, tell when someone is talented, telekinesis, spontaneous fire, etc.. there's really no limit to what I can do," He humored me.
"Do you have wings too?" I asked sarcastically.
"Yes," he answered. I chuckled before facing forward again.
"You're insane," I muttered. He sighed before parking the car.
"I would show you, but I'm afraid you'll go into shock. And since I can't read your mind, I probably won't be able to use my persuasion on you either," he thought out loud. I looked around curiously. We were in the shopping district.
