Chapter 1: The Cereal Addict
"I'd rather become an old maiden than to get back with that monkey!"
Cee just nodded at his friend Jea's litany. But in reality her friend did not pay attention to her but to the edible cereal. They are currently at Jea's house and spending time. Or maybe, I'm working on a project.
"Patch also doesn't want to get back with you, Jea, so you're fair," said Crea, one of their friends.
"Obviously that monkey likes that, Creapatra! Is he always here, hello ?! I still have HD with that impact," Jea said nervously.
"Naturally he's always here, he's your twin's friend. You're just too paranoid, Jea!" said another of their friends, Mai.
"Paranoid? Illusion you!" Snow's second.
"He's still ambitious. I guess he can't move on, eh," Ava teased.
They laughed like villains on a Disney show. He who is busy eating continues to just nod.
They have been in the same class for six years since their first year of college. Because of the same habit they clicked six and became friends. Jea, Crea, Mai, Snow, Ava and her built the Love Club in their university.
If you need help about love, you can go to their club. They also have their own mini-magazine that is all about love in the flesh.
Well, what could she say, all of them enjoyed the idea of love.
Or on her part, the love for cereal.
Maybe it's because his name is Cereal so he is also very addicted to such food.
Their university-Brookeshire University-doesn't care if the club being built wasn't really into academic purposes. As long as the club has more than five members, it won't be demolished by the administration.
That's how wide the club registration at their university is.
"Why are you oppressing me? Argh! Help me, Cereal!"
"Don't oppress Jea, Patch might fight you, go ahead," he said.
"I hate you all!"
They just laughed as the teasing continued. This is difficult when all six of them are in a group for a project. They never end because of storytelling!
"Hey, Cee! You're too engrossed in eating cereal there. Aren't you upset yet?"
He just blames Jea. He knew it was only turning his attention to their friends. What she really doesn't like is that you are teasing her ex-boyfriend Patch.
"Jea, change the subject. It's obvious, eh."
"I really don't know about you! Can you please not link me to that impact Patch? You guys are terrified!"
"'Sus! There seems to be bitterness in your voice, Jea?" said Mai and raised an eyebrow at it. "There's something, eh."
"Nothing! I'm allergic to that playboy and flirt Patch!"
"Well?"
He stood up as the cereal was consumed. "I'll just get a drink on the chin, Jea."
It nodded. "All right. Manang Fe is there," he said, referring to their maid.
He left them teasing.
He was just shaken. It looks like they will have to spend the night if they continue to talk.
The project they are working on is for the final requirement on one of their subjects. Since graduating, they will be given grades early because the remaining months before graduation of their batch will be allocated to take care of requirements, practices and club activities.
As soon as he entered the kitchen, he opened the back door.
"Oh, you're here, Cereal," the newcomer Spike told him. This is Jea's twin.
"We are doing a project, eh," he said.
"You'll be in a group of six?"
He nodded.
"Best of luck to you," he said with a smile.
He frowned. He already knows their six-chikahan routine now, fabricated later.
Not that they are not studying. In fact, since their first year of college they have been Dean's Lister six. Just in case there is a chance they are called chikadora-syndrome.
"Spike, ask for juice!" That voice came from the back of the house.
"Fuck you!" Spike shouted back. Shaking it opened the refrigerator and took out the juice.
"Ask me again, Spike," he muttered.
"It pays."
"All right, I'll give you some cereal later."
Exaggerated that it enlarged his eyes. "Are you sick, Cereal?"
He stared at it. "I don't know about you, ha, Spike!"
Spike just laughed. Then he was also given orange juice.
Because they are always friends here at Jea and Spike's house, Spike and I have become close.
In their conversation with Spike, he can say that Spike is the kindest of them all. Or because maybe he's a friend of his twin so it's kind to him.
Spike is cool and friendly. Unlike his remaining five friends who were snobbish, evil, lazy and so on and so forth. She wasn't that close to Patch because well, he was Jea's ex-boyfriend. Jea's life will surely bury him, especially since he is still allergic to Patch.
Can't move on, eh.
Spike's group is famous at their university. They were popularly known as the Spiral Gang. Because stories are circulating throughout their university that they are participating in illegal racing. He also said that they like to fight and quarrel. But those were just rumors and they didn't have proofs.
It is also said that they were not evicted from Brookeshire even though the tires they entered were different because one of the Spiral members was the son of the owner of Brookeshire. There is a fit, that is.
Not that she minded. To her, Stephen Chavez was still the friendly and cool twin brother of her friend.
"You, why are you hanging out again? You have no class?" he asked the man.
Smiling it shrugged. You want to know the funny thing about this Spiral Gang? Even though they weren't attending their classes regularly, they could pass their subjects with flying colors.
He once asked Jea if they really fit in well with the Brookeshire administration. Then Jea told her that Spiral Gang were just a bunch of misunderstood guys — except for Patch on Jea's point of view, that is.
"Spike, have you — oh, it's you, peasant."
It looks like someone flicked his head when he heard that word of the incoming Rake. Rake was also a part of Spiral Gang. For her and to the whole university, Rake was probably the richest and the evilest of them all.
She didn't hate Rake. She was just indifferent towards him since the day he called her "peasant." Does he really look poor? What a horror!
"Oh, it's the I'm-above-you-peasant-because-my-family-is-rich-and-I-do-nothing-but-be-a-leech-to-them guy," she said without a pause.
He saw the passing of annoyance in its eyes. They are just fair. It has no right to call him peasant. 'Chura nito.
"Heh, I don't have time to the likes of you, Miss I-eat-like-a-pig," he said.
Be indifferent, Cee, he said to himself.
But it's really hard to be indifferent when Rake is involved. She is taking back what she said earlier that she is indifferent when it comes to men. She disliked him. Period.
"Sorry for wasting your time, Mister I-own-the-world-kneel-before-me," he said sarcastically. Still not satisfied, he even raised an eyebrow at it.
He did not move but his hair almost dried on his arm when he grinned. His smirk was pure evil!
"You two have to admit, are you going to be an ex?" Spike suddenly groaned because of the masculinity of his eyes.
"What ?!" he exclaimed. His eyes almost popped out in shock.
"Me? With this peasant? In her dreams, maybe," Rake said.
He's really testing my patience!
"Eh, you can almost go along with Jea and Patch's quarrel. And those two have a past. So—"
"I won't ever like this stupid guy!" he pointed at Rake at the same time.
"As if I will like you," said Rake.
"It's good that you're clear!"
"Hn."
He was about to get up and was about to leave the kitchen when Rake suddenly called to him.
"What else ?!"
This is how it is when indifferent, no? He was so affected, he did not know why. Ah, because it calls him peasant. That's probably the only reason.
"You still have milk on your lips, peasant."
He heard Spike laugh from the "background."
Her eyes narrowed. "I'm not a child anymore!"
Something evil crossed Rake's eyes. "I mean it literally. Try looking in front of a mirror before facing someone like me, peasant. Or are you provoking me to lick that milk on the side of your lips? Well, well. I didn't know you were dead. to me-"
"In your dreams! 'Tse!" He turned around and right there was a mirror on the side. Her eyes widened when she saw that she had milk on her lips! That was probably from the cereal he ate!
When he turned around, Rake was no longer where he had been before. The only one there was Spike. The man smiled.
"Why didn't you say I had milk on my lips ?! 'You ate!"
He quickly wiped his lips and ran back to Jea's room.
"What happened to you?" Ava asked as she sat down next to him.
He folded his arms. She knew irritation was painted on her face.
Among their friends, he is one of those who has a long patience but when it comes to Rake, the word "sorry" seems to be missing from his vocabulary.
He was just plain annoying and unlikable! And evil. And handsome.
Erase, erase! Hold that thought, Cereal!
Though the evil bastard was really handsome, she could not deny that fact.
"I just encountered a monster in the kitchen," he said simply.
Jea's eyes widened. "Si Patch ?! Let me call the monster buster right now!"
"Jea, not everything is about your Patch," Crea smiled.
"He is not my Patch anymore," Jea insisted.
"Bitterness, oh. Trend to move on, Jea."
"I'm not the topic here, Cee and her monster!"
She rolled her eyes. It was so like Jea.
"Who are you referring to, Cee?" Mai asked.
"Rake."
"Ah," they said at once.
"He doesn't look like a monster," Jea said.
"He's too handsome to be a monster," Snow said.
Once again, she just rolled her eyes at them. He folded his arms and did not say a word because he knew what they were saying was true.
If Rake was one of the richest and evilest guys on their university, he was also included in the list of Handsomest Guy in their university. Calling him handsome would be an understatement.
He was devilishly handsome with that evil smirk plastered on his lips. Same as the eyes that were glinting with hidden evilness.
It is tall and when he is stuck in it he will look like an elf. It can reach a height of about six inches. His hair was always messy but it looked good on him and he looked so cool every time he was running his hand on his hair.
His piercing black eyes seemed to be mocking every person he was looking at. It bites when looked at. The cold bites on Valentine's Day are even worse and you don't have a date. His nose was perfect as well. It looks like a sculptor. That's why he also can't believe that it is quarreling because it has no chalk on his face.
And don't start with his lips. Rake has the fullest and reddest lips she had ever seen. And when he was showing that evil smirk of his ...
Yeah, she doesn't like him. She was just stating ... facts.
Ows?
Okay! She would admit that once upon a time, she had a crush on him. But when she had a taste of that sharp tongue of Rake, all the likeness she felt left her system.
"Hello, Cereal? Calling Cereal? Come back! Yuhoo!"
He closes his eyes tightly. He almost tricked himself because of the thought. Indifferent, yeah right.
"He called me a peasant, girls! That man is really whispering to me. Just a little bit, he's going to bingo with me. He'll see, I'll hack him with-"
"Hug?"
"Kiss?"
"Love?"
One by one he threw a throw pillow at Ava, Jea and Crea who were the ones who got angry.
"Let's just finish our project instead of wasting time on that monster," he said.
"Patch is more of a monster," Jea said weakly.
"Yes, Patch is yours again. Patch is unconscious."
"Hey, Cee and Jea are funny, they have a love life," Snow added teasingly.
They did nothing because everyone went back to bullying.
But she would not trade these girls for any other girls out there.
