Chapter 3 Jennifer Donato
When they stepped out into the park, they came upon a huge outdoor kitchen and a large, comfortable grill.
They turned after a few meters and began to hear pop music—the kind women usually listen to, or so Joseph thought.
They approached the pool when Noah let out a loud scream, startling his mother.
-“Mom! I’m with someone! Why are you sunbathing naked?”
Joseph looked at the beautiful, striking woman, who sat up slightly at Noah’s screams; she had been lying on a beach towel, sunbathing… with her breasts exposed.
“Sorry! I thought I was alone, and you’re supposed to be working.”
She said, covering her chest with one arm, but Joseph had already seen something he’d loved and made no effort to stop looking at her. However, since he was half a step behind his employee, the young man didn’t notice how his boss was devouring his mother with his gaze.
“I’m with my boss; we came to Dad’s office to look for something specific.”
“Sorry, son, it’s a pleasure…”
“The pleasure is all mine. I’m Joseph Davinson.”
“I’m Jennifer Donato, Noah’s mom.”
He was about to pay her a risqué compliment, but since her son was present, he held back—though he let his gaze wander over her body and then settled on a small belly button ring she was wearing.
He immediately imagined running his tongue over it and then moving down to her…
-“Mom, please, get dressed.”
Noah pleaded, embarrassed by his mother. When he was around, she was careful and didn’t sunbathe topless, but he knew that when she was alone, she sometimes did. He felt stupid for not thinking of that detail—he was just so anxious about the whole situation with his father.
His boss was a cold, even despotic man—though he wasn’t acting that way toward him—but he didn’t want to push his luck.
His mother was making him go through a terrible time.
“Yes, Noah… I’m dressed now, sorry.”
“Don’t worry, I understand you’re at home and you were sunbathing—it’s no big deal. At the beach… you see…
He stopped short because he was about to add that you see women with their breasts exposed, but none as delicious as hers.
She turned to grab her bikini top, still covering herself with her arm—mainly because she didn’t like her son seeing her like that and because she was with her boss; she understood how uncomfortable Noah was feeling.
What she didn’t know was that when she turned, Joseph kept devouring her with his gaze and pressed his lips together to keep from saying something about her butt and her legs.
It took a lot to shock Joseph, yet Jennifer Donato had managed to do just that—and then some.
Noah saw how the CEO’s eyes wouldn’t leave his mother’s behind, and he felt really uncomfortable. If it had been anyone else, he would have said something, although he was used to the fact that whenever he went out with his mother—to run an errand or sometimes to dinner—she drew every gaze in the room.
They hadn’t gone on vacation since his father passed away; financial constraints had prevented them from doing so. They had traveled the world several times before, always the three of them together—they were very close.
Joseph had even lost track of where he was when he felt his employee’s gaze.
“Show me those documents, Noah.”
he said, mimicking the way his mother used to call him.
The young man said nothing, and Joseph was about to smile, but he stopped himself.
The two of them entered what had once been Benjamin Lee’s office, and once again he thought that this man had exquisite taste—just like his beautiful wife.
He let his gaze wander, with apparent indifference, around the entire room, until his eyes settled on a stack of photographs. In them was a man who looked very much like Noah; in every one, he was with Jennifer by his side. In many, Noah was there as well, and there were more than a dozen in which she was alone, at different stages of her life—including when she was a young woman and pregnant with Noah.
He was stunned by this woman’s beauty; she was simply perfect.
Her breasts were perfect—generously sized without being excessive; her waist was slim; her hips would be any man’s undoing; her legs were irresistible; and that belly button ring…
He forced himself to stop thinking about it, because he was going to go find her, ask her out to dinner, and end the night with an unforgettable experience.
He’d gone there for something else.
But that woman…
Noah, oblivious to his boss’s sinful thoughts, saw him looking at the photographs and made a couple of comments about his father.
“It really seems impossible that he committed suicide.”
Noah said, picking up some documents and flipping through them.
“Can I take these with me? I promise I’ll bring them back.”
“Yes, I just ask that you take good care of them. I know that someday I’ll find something that tells me what happened to my father.”
“Yes, I’m sure you’ll find something.”
“Please don’t tell my mother I gave you those documents—it’s just that she…”
“Don’t worry, Noah.”
He replied, putting the documents away in his studio.
When they went into the living room, they found Jennifer already changed.
She was definitely striking, seductive, and intoxicating.
She was wearing comfortable but high-heeled sandals—they had a platform—and a simple, not-too-tight orange dress that highlighted her beauty and her tan.
Joseph looked at her legs and couldn’t hide how much he liked what he was seeing.
There was a small table between the sofas, where Jennifer had already set out a tray with coffee and some cookies to go with it; everything was served on very elegant tableware.
“Do you take your coffee black or with milk?”
Jennifer asked her son’s boss.
“Black, please.”
She poured him some coffee, poured some for her son as well, and mixed it with plenty of milk—it was almost equal parts of the two drinks.
They talked about two or three trivial topics.
Jennifer felt the man’s intense gaze on her; she realized he was undressing her with his eyes—not to mention that he’d already seen her with her breasts exposed. She could even feel her skin slowly burning from the intensity of Joseph’s gaze; more than a glow, it was an intense fire.
He, too, was burning inside as he looked at her, thinking about everything he could do with this woman; he was overwhelmed by her presence, her beauty, and her sensuality.
Both felt a deep attraction, which they tried to hide. Jennifer wasn’t willing to show how she felt, nor was she interested in feeling such an attraction; it simply wasn’t part of her plans to fall head over heels for any man.
She looked at Noah, thinking he must have noticed how her boss was looking at her, and
she knew that as soon as they were alone, her son would reproach her for having found her nearly naked.
Joseph said his goodbyes in a hurry; that woman made him crave what he was used to. He was passionate and seductive; he was used to having any woman he wanted—perhaps a little less so now that he had a girlfriend and was almost always intimate with her, though every now and then they’d go out with Victor and a couple of friends.
Sometimes he needed a change—someone different—to keep the routine from taking over.
Noah had also given him the documents detailing the mistake that had ended in tragedy.
Joseph set out to study everything; he had returned to his office, mainly because he wanted Victor to be in on the situation.
They began to look over the first draft—the one with the error—and after reviewing it several times, they realized that it had been corrected before it reached the last architect, who had included it for no reason at all, since everything had already been fixed.
“Let’s make photocopies of everything, because I promised him I’d return everything tomorrow.”
After spending some time making the photocopies themselves—since it was a sensitive matter and they didn’t want to involve anyone else, nor did they want any secretary to see those documents—they returned to the initial plans.
-This project was sabotaged, taking advantage of the initial mistake.
-I thought the same thing.
The first step was taken care of.
They checked the time and realized it was almost 9 p.m., so they put everything away and went to dinner.
Both of them were obsessed with the issue, so they kept talking about it over dinner.
-“You were right,”
Joseph said.
Victor raised an eyebrow; he didn’t know why his friend was agreeing with him.
“The wife.”
“Who?”
"Benjamin’s wife, Noah’s mother."
“What about her? Do you think she’s involved?”
“What? No!”
-“I don’t know what she has to do with it, then.”
-“It’s just that I met her today.”
-“So?”
-“So? She’s the most beautiful and sexy woman I’ve ever seen in my whole fucking life!”
-She’s beautiful, yes.
-“No.”
-“No?”
Victor asks, thinking his partner was messing with him.
-“She’s more than just beautiful—she’s… hot—she’s… shit, I want her.”
Victor laughed, because he knew she was a beautiful woman, but it seemed like Joseph was completely captivated by her.
-“She really got to you.”
-“She was sunbathing naked when we got there.”
“Naked?”
Victor asked, astonished.
“No, she was wearing a bikini—a thong bottom and no top. Those boobs are unforgettable.”
-“If anyone heard you, they’d doubt your age.”
-“I swear, she’s just perfect. I didn’t make a move because her son was there, but damn… you have no idea what a great ass she has.”
Victor thought that this was how he remembered his ex-wife; he always thought about how beautiful and sexy his first wife had been. To him, she was one of a kind, and yet he lost her—for nothing— because of a senseless affair, and after she left him, he didn’t even apologize to her at the time and just moved on with his life—until he started missing her and later got married, because his girlfriend was pregnant and he thought all he needed was a woman to wait for him when he got home, without realizing that what he needed wasn’t just any woman, but his wife—the mother of his daughter.
Emma was sexy, with a heart-stopping body and a unique warmth, and she was the mother of his daughter—the one who took care of his little girl when they separated, the one who endured her own pain so that his little girl wouldn’t suffer so much.
In the end, that fling—which he thought was just a passing phase—ruined his life and his wife’s as well.
Many years passed, and each went on with their own lives, but he was condemned for the rest of his life, because he had lost her forever.
He shook his head; he had to push her out of his mind.
He kept listening to his friend talk; apparently, that woman had stolen his heart.
“How old is she?”
“I think she’s 36—Noah told me she had him when she was 17 or 18—but she doesn’t look even 30. She must work out or something; she’s…”
Joseph didn’t finish his sentence; he was beside himself. He was just hoping—under any pretext—to see her again and then actually ask her out for a drink; he wasn’t counting on anything else.
