Chapter 7

Ebony's POV

"Are you guys sure we should let Ebony go inside with us? It could be dangerous." Keith said

" I agree with him, father. Maybe she should wait in the car," Derek said

Uncle Michael, Derek, Keith, and I were on our way to my mom's house to get my stuff. I didn't have much, but there were some things I wanted to get from my room. Keith and Derek thought I shouldn't go in with them.

"I am going in to," I said, and they looked at each other for a moment but didn't argue.

We all got out of the car and went to the apartment. I unlocked the door and walked in.

"I can't believe you have the nerve to show up here after the stunt you pulled, you little bi... Oh, Alpha Michael, to what do I owe this visit," My mom said, and I rolled my eyes.

" Hello, Renee! We are here to speak to you about something important. Do you mind if we come in and talk to you?" Uncle Michael asked

"Sure! come on in." My mom said, not taking her eyes off me.

We went to the living room and sat down. Uncle Michael sat on a chair, and my mom sat in a chair as well. Derek, Keith, and I sat on the couch that fits three. I sat in the middle of them.

"So what's this about?" My mom asked, looking at me.

"Well, there are two things we need to discuss. First, I want to say that I am very excited to tell you that Ebony has found her mate." Alpha Michael said.

My mom looked at me, shocked. "Really? When? She was here earlier today and didn't tell me anything about finding her mate." She said.

I could tell she was nervous now because she was fidgeting.

"Yes, she did, just tonight, actually," Uncle Michael replied

"Well, who is it?" She asked.

"It's me, Keith. I'm sure you know I'm the future Alpha of the Silvermoon Pack." Keith said, and I swear my mom looked like she would pass out any minute.

"There must be a mistake! There is no way she is Mated to an Alpha," My mom said coldly. I was so embarrassed that I lowered my head. She was right. I was not capable of being mated to an Alpha. That would make me a Luna. I was not strong enough to be the Luna of a Pack.

Keith seemed to know what I was thinking because he looked over at me and took my hand before looking back at my mom. He looked like he wanted to wring her neck for what she said.

"Ms. Daniel's, this is not a mistake, and I hope you get that through your head. She is my mate and my future Luna, and I will not let anyone disrespect her. Mom or not, " He said in his Alpha tone, causing her to kneel her head a little.

"We are also here for another matter. It has come to my attention that something happened earlier today between Ebony and you. Would you like to tell me what happened," Uncle Michael asked calmly. Now my mom was nervous.

"No, Alpha, there was a misunderstanding. You see, my friend's son just wanted to talk to Ebony. If I had known she had found her mate, I never would have said anything to her," My mom said, and I couldn't believe her. She lied about trying to sell my virginity to some stranger.

"Would you like to say anything, Ebony?" Uncle Michael asked, and I shook my head no.

"Well, if that's everything, we are here so Ebony can pack her things." Uncle Michael said.

"I will go with you," Keith said and followed me.

"Why is she leaving?" I heard my mom ask before I went to my room, with Keith following me.

Keith's POV

I am so upset right now. I am upset because my mate's mom just bad-mouthed her right in my face. I swear I would have wrung her neck if she wasn't her mom.

I can't help but think of how I was doing the same thing just a few days ago. I have so much to make up for.

I am also upset about the part of town she lives in. When we walked in, there were grown men standing right outside the apartment. They had to have been selling drugs. Women were walking around like hookers.

Her apartment is so tiny. The paint is chipping off the walls, and you can see roaches crawling around. The living room smelled like marijuana; there were beer bottles and cigarette buds everywhere. It looked like Ebony's room was the only clean one in there.

It upset me how little Ebony had. Her bed was a single mattress, and she had an old desk and chair. She didn't have many clothes, and the only pair of shoes were the ones she had on.

She grabbed a jewelry box, two shoe boxes, and her clothes. I wanted to tell her she didn't have to take the clothes. They were all old and worn out, but I didn't want to offend her. she put everything in a trash bag.

"That's everything," She said, and I nodded.

She bent down to grab the bag, but I picked it up first. She looked at me, surprised but didn't say anything.

We returned to the living room, and everyone sat quietly.

"Did you get everything?" Alpha Michael asked, and she nodded.

"Well, we will be leaving. Also, you should know that there will be an investigation into what happened earlier between you, Ebony, and the two men from Silvermoon. Keith will be interviewing them later on, so if there is anything you are not telling me, now would be the time to talk." Alpha Michael said.

She said she didn't have anything to say and closed the door in our faces. She didn't even tell her daughter goodbye. I could tell Ebony was sad about that, but she didn't say anything.

I am trying to think positively and not show how much her mom pissed me off. I know we still need to talk about our past, and I am nervous about that, but it would be good to talk and figure everything out and try to move past everything that happened. I want her to forgive me.

All I know is that I will treat her like I should have been treated by me all these years. Her life is going to change for the better.
