The Bloody Moon

Year :1156

Location: Chiapas, Mexico

Time: early evening

The streets where flooded with people in a festive mood

It's El que es LUNA the festival, the celebration of the moon god

The locals took this festival really serious, they danced and make animal sacrifices to the moon god, some even cut themselves with knives

In hopes that the gods will be kind on them and grant them a great harvest season

It was very much believed that during this time presence of great magic was flowing through the land and this magic could be use for healing and curing, so those who where sick or dying where brought to the temple during this day and they where prayed for

There was also a believe by the locals that the flow of magic during this day can be use for great evil, a evil that has not been seen from the beginning of the world founding

However it was only theoretical no one has ever use the flow of power for evil but things were about to change

The locals where not the only ones who came to observe the festival of the moon (El que es LUNA ) tourist from all over the world, especially American and European travel down to Mexico for just this purpose

Not because they believe in it, on the contrary the saw it something to laugh about but they do enjoy the music and dancing while some of them came for the beautiful Mexican ladies

Just like Eric Damian a young American scholar who was experiencing this trilling mix of fun but almost barbaric celebration for the first time

He wasn't alone he made the trip with two of his buddies, Briana Love and Christopher john

They came expecting a night there Young Minds won't be forgetting anytime soon and they haven't dissapointed so far

They had joined the locals dancing and singing off rhythm but they didn't really care, they were having too much fun plus they were surrounded by beautiful Mexican ladies who by the looks of things fancy there American fine boy looks

Eric was eyeing one of the girls in particular, she had long hair, a pretty face, nice soft skin and she danced really great, moving and twisting her waist as if she has no bones

His two friends where simply after anything wearing a skirt, drinking and flirting with the girls

The festival started early in the morning and it was already getting dark but the party was only getting started

The drums started beating loudly as soon as the moon appeared in the sky, likewise the singing, chanting and dancing increased

More than a dozen sheep and cows where lined up for sacrifice and an Elder Chief was in charge of the slaughtering of the animals

He said chanted some words in his mother tongue each time he slit the neck of an animal

the chanting became more and more louder as the slaughtering progresses

“ what is he saying ” Eric asked one of the native girl standing by his side

“ Vida Sangre Luna, life, blood and moon ” She said but Eric still has a curious look on his face

So she further explained “ He is praying for the moon god to accept the life and blood of the animals in exchange for a fruitful harvest ”

“ oh I see sounds good ” Eric said with a smile

“ so how many quantity of blood of cows and sheep do your moon god needs before he hears your prayers ” Christopher asked sarcastically

“ as much as we can give but he can't get satisfy by animal blood, legend has it that there was a time great drought befell the lands till a point of extinction the elders then had to make human sacrifices to appease the gods, a great sacrifice indeed that they said the moon turned red, because the gods where over feed, and he granted them there heart desires ” the girl explained to the amusement of Eric and his friends

“ yeah right what a shitty legend ” Briana muttered...

As the Elder Chief continued with the sacrifice, strong wind started blowing and the dancing became radical

Among the crowd of people that where dancing Eric spotted the local girl he had been eyeing, she was standing staring at him

She smiled then turned and started walking into the forest and Eric followed her carefully navigating his way among the crowd of people dancing

He followed her into the forest, it was dark and it was easy for him to lose sight of her, he turned around in search of her but then he heard a soft voice

“ over here ”

He walked to the direction the voice came from and it led him to a small tent inside the forest

Eric inhaled deeply then walked to the tent and opened it and he saw the girl standing naked next to a bed made out of palm tree branches, her eyes fixed on his

He thought she looked really beautiful without the clothes on and gradually but instinctively he moved slowly to meet her

He ran his hands all over her body, kissing her lips as his hands where busy exploring the beauty of nature..

He lifted her from the legs slowly and placed her on the bed

A low burning candle was the source of lunination inside the tent and Eric didn't even bother blowing it as the breeze help him to it

Total darkness only sounds of pressure escaping from the tent.....

Then all of a sudden she screamed loudly in pain then total silence followed

Eric got off her alittle bit scared of the sudden outburst

“ what's the matter ” he asked but he got no reply

It was dark, too dark for him to see anything, he shook her but she wasn't responding to that either

“ hey.. ” he said then remembered he doesn't even know her name

“ alright joke time is over, what's your name? ” he said thinking she was kind of pranking with him

But still no word from her, Eric grow impatient “ it's not funny anymore ” he said and then shook her hard but still she was motionless

Eric heart started beating really fast as he realized something is just not right he tried calling for help but then he saw a reflection of light on the tent, a shadow of person and by the shape it was that of a woman holding a lamp and the shadow was getting bigger evidence that the person was walking towards the tent

The tent was opened and an aged woman enterted inside holding a lamp on her left arm

She shone the light on Eric direction and saw Eric looking frighten and a girl lying on the palm bed eyes wide open but she looked dead

Eric could tell that the lady that walked in most be related with the girl because her expression changed when she was her and she gradually walked to touch her, she inspect her for some seconds

“ MI hija ( my daughter) ” she said weeping

“ MI hija, MI hija ” she wept the more

Then she turned shapely to face Eric

“ ASESINO (murderer ) ” she screamed at him

“ ASESINO ASESINO ” she screamed the more

“ no no no no ” Eric said, he didn't understand what she was saying but he knew it couldn't be something good

She brought out a small knife from her cloth her eyes looking really angry

“ please put that away, I didn't do anything to her, this is a big mistake...my God ” he explained backing away

But then he was shocked as the old woman use the knife to her slice her right arm and blood flowed and drop on the floor

“ Vida Sangre Luna, Vida Sanger Luna, Vida Sanger Luna ” she chanted

Eric didn't know what she was saying but then he remembered what that native girl said to him

“ life, blood and moon ” he recalled

She was playing to there gods, then it struck him, she was sacrificing herself to her gods!

She continued with her chants but she added some words to it that Eric didn't understand

“ Vida Sangre luna

Te maldigo por la eternidad

caminar por la tierra

solo en la cara de la luna

sin saber nada más que sangre ”

As soon as she said the last word she stab slit her throat with the knife and she fell on top of her dead daughter, dead

And immediately the place became windy and rain cloud covered the sky, thunder and lightning came forth violently

The breeze blew open the tent and Eric started to feel immense pain in his head and heart, it was so shape and painful he screamed and groan so loudly until he became unconscious...

The festival was still forth going despite the change of weather, Eric two friends where very much having too much fun to know where he was or what had happened to him...

Eric finally regain consciousness, he didn't feel any pain in his head or heart in fact he didn't feel any pain at all he felt great, reborn

His senses where 100 times better than before, he could see clearly in the dark, his nose was picking out scent of things miles away

His skin looked pale, almost pure white, his eyes clear blue but kept changing sometimes to reddish brown and yellowish black

He looked at the two women who where dead and he felt pity so he tried lifting the aged dead woman from the body of the girl, putting the amount of force he thinks would be necessary to do so but he found the woman weighed less than expected, way too less or was it that he had become way too strong he contemplated

Just then he felt a great and uncontrollable urge to eat, but his hunger was not of food, No but of something else of flesh blood of humans

Instinctively his nose caught up the scent of flesh blood from the crowd of people having a festive time and by this time he had lost control of himself, he just had one thought on his head

Fed, Fed and Fed....

Eric came out of the forest and one of the local girl who had been eyeing him ran to meet him hoping they might catch some fun together but she wasn't expecting what happened next

She ran to meet him and wrapped her arms around his neck biting her lips seductively but Eric eyes where fixed on her neck and her veins that where calling his name so to speak

He could feel his four canine tooth expanding upwards until they became long and shape fangs

“ ahhhhhhhh ” she screamed in pain as he buried his teeth inside her sucking and squeezing the life out of her body and his eyes changed from blue to reddish brown

He dropped her cold dead body on the floor and moved to the next victim a male who was busy trying to impress some ladies by lifting some hard stuffs

Eric caught hold of him by the head and flung him to the sky with so much ease, he landed hard on the ground after spending some time in the sky

He was half dead by the impact but he could still see and he watched as Eric walked to meet him

Eric made a silent roar and bent over and biting and sucked him dry

“ ahhhhhhhhh ” the girls screamed and run on seeing this

But they weren't fast enough as Eric caught up with them and suck the life out of them

He kept dropping bodies as he moved cursing great chaos and disorganisation

“ Monster ”

“ Devil ”

“ Death ”

People yelled as they run

Eric thirst for blood was unending and the number of dead people kept piling up, he was so quick it was as if he was in multiple places at once

Eric two friends Christopher and Briana where on the run also they knew some kind of monster was killing people but they didn't know that the monster was actually there friend Eric until they saw him sucking the blood of his latest victim

At this point his clothes where covered with the blood stain of the people he had killed, his eyes looked like that of a killer yellowish black

“ my God Eric!! What happened to you ” Christopher exclaimed in disbelief

“ that's not Eric.... That's the devil ” Briana said in fear

Eric turned and faced them and he walked towards them

“ Eric stop, Eric stop Ericcccc ” Christopher yelled as he came at them in a manner that looked life threatening

BANG... BANG

Someone shot at Eric in the chest coursing him to groan in pain and anger, he turned and faced the person that shot at him

It was one of the tourist, an American also. Eric charge at him and he got shot several times but it didn't harm him

He snapped his neck and sucked him dry. Christopher and Briana ran away for there life....

The slaughtering was so great that something unexpected happened the moon became red

“ the great sacrifice ” The Elder Chief said

“ his going to kill us all ” one of the elders said

“ I think I know how to stop him but I need volunteers ” the Elder Chief said

Christopher and Briana wanted to help there friend so they volunteer

“ step forward foreigners ” the Elder Chief said

Then he began chanting and urge does who where remaining to chant along with him

“ Vida Sangre Luna, Vida Sangre Luna, Vida Sangre Luna

Sálvanos Luna Dios, toma estas almas e intercambiarlos con un pecho matar esta sangre Succión monstruo ” the Elder Chief recited and everyone echoed along

Then all of a sudden Christopher and Briana started screaming in pain and they began changing into a kind of beast...

Eric was still on a killing spree, no one was save not even the little kids but as he finished drinking a child blood he caught scent of a fowl smell

He turned back and saw two creatures he hasn't seen before, they were large as big like a bear but looked more like a wolf, they had long and shape claws and teeth

They roared loudly beating there chest trying to intimidate Eric but he wasn't intimidated by this unusually creatures and they ran towards each other.....
