Chapter 3

Nancy was in her bedroom drying her wet, long golden hair, and combing it to cascade behind her back. She walked out of her bedroom and finally went downstairs to the living room to have dinner with her parents...

Nancy could feel her stomach growling so loud with hunger, and she held onto the iron railing to support herself as she went downstairs. Ensuring she wouldn't fall or miss her steps, as she finally descended the stairs.

However, Nancy noticed that some guests had arrived at her parents' home, which made her to frown, as she disliked the layout of her father's mansion. The living room was connected to the dining room, and making it easy for guests to spy on her family affairs. Something she detested the most, as she valued her privacy.

Nancy saw a tall, handsome black man, who exude of authority, standing in her father's living room, and watching her as she descended the stairs.

She felt uncomfortable under his watchful gaze, as his black eyes didn't shifted away from her for one minute to look away, until she finally stepped into the living.

Nancy felt like the handsome black man whom she had earlier seen when he arrived, was stripping her naked, with that intense look of desire in his eyes. .

She immediately stared away from him, turning to her parents, and noticing them, standing nervously in the living room.

However, she walked up to meet her mother, and slowly asked her mother, "Mom, is dinner not ready yet?"

Mrs. Olivia Marlon was nervous, as she hadn't expected for Charles to personally visited their home on the same day of Nancy's arrival to the city. She nervously responded to Nancy, "Nancy dear, come meet your groom."

"My what?!!" Nancy gasped in shock, and swiftly turned to face Charles. With her heart pounding loudly in her chest.

She met Charles intense desirous gaze on her, as his black shining eyes wasn't averting from her for a minute, as he stood in the living room, and watching her reaction too.

Nancy snapped out of her shock and immediately asked her mother, "Mom, when did I get married to him?"

She pointed to Charles..

"You're not yet married to him, Nancy. Here with us is Charles Alejandro, Mr. President Nolan Alejandro's only son, and the wedding is in two days" her father said.

"Two days!" Nancy gasped in disbelief, almost fainting. Charles spoke to her, "Calm down, Nancy."

Nancy shivered at his deep, male masculine voice which spoke to her now. She couldn't believe that she was already getting married to him, and worst, their wedding was in two days time.

Nancy finally gathered her courage, and spoke to Charles with her pink lips trembling, "I cannot.. marry you.. sir."

"Nancy!" Her father screamed at her to hush her up, As Charles Alejandro was the most feared young man in the city.

Her father immediately warned her, "Nancy! You have no right to object to this marriage! As Charles Alejandro here, has seen many photos of pretty young women, before choosing you. So you should be grateful to become as the country's future first lady."

"No, father!... I cannot accept to this marriage!! I cannot marry him!!!" Nancy immediately moved backward, bolted away towards the living room stairs, and she dashed upstairs and went back to her bedroom, with her hips bouncing and swaying seductively as she ran upstairs.

She shut her room door closed, and went to her bed, crying.

"Hmm, let me go upstairs, and call her back," Mrs. Olivia Marlon offered, but her husband quickly stopped her, "That won't be necessary."

He stared at Charles, and apologized, "We're truly sorry, Your Excellency. We haven't informed Nancy about the arranged marriage with you, sir."

"Hmm" Charles stood speechless in the living room, and still staring upstairs to the second floor. As he hoped his chosen bride would peek out her beautiful head, and look down at him.

Charles felt his muscles hardening, and wanting to claim her after seeing how her hips had swayed.

He doubted he could be able to hold himself, if he was left alone with her, as she looked more beautiful in real life, than her photo which was with him.

Charles finally looked back at Nancy's parents, meeting her mother's nervous gaze on him. As she resembled Nancy too.

Mrs. Olivia Marlon smiled nervously, and said, "Not to worry, Your Excellency. I will go upstairs now, and speak to my daughter. And the wedding will still take place. ."

"That's alright. I will be looking forward to the wedding this weekend, as I came here to welcome my chosen bride on her return to the city... But it seems like she doesn't want to see me....

Please give these flowers to Nancy, and let her know that I'm truly in love with her, and want to marry her too," Charles said, handing over a bouquet of rose petals to Mrs. Olivia Marlon.

She smiled, collected it, and stood aside while her husband apologized again, "We are sincerely sorry, Your Excellency. Please forgive our daughter for her rude behavior towards you."

"That's alright. I understand her fears, but that's not a problem. Do send my greetings to her, and let her know that I want her. I have to be on my way now. Goodbye, Senator Logan."

"Yes, goodbye, Your Excellency," Senator Logan finally escorted Charles outside of their mansion. As they walked outside of their living room and to the luxurious black cars parked.

The stationed security men pulled and shut the car at the center door closed for Charles. As soon as he entered, and the three similar SUV finally drove out of Senator Logan Marlon's residence.

However, Nancy stood at her room window upstairs, and staring downward at Charles..

She saw when Charles walked out of her family home, and got into his car, before the three black SUV left her father's mansion.

Nancy couldn't believe that her parents really wanted her to marry Charles Alejandro, a.k a the president's son, by force.

She hadn't met with Charles before, but she had heard of him, especially with the negative comments online about his family's ruling them for years.

The sound of her room door pushed opened, and jolted her back to reality...

Nancy snapped out of her trance, and turned away from the window to see her parents angrily walking into her room.

"Nancy! What was the meaning of that silly drama you displayed when meeting Charles Alejandro today? Many young women would have jumped at the offer with joy, and accepted to marry Charles immediately," her father questioned her angrily, standing beside her room door, and glaring at her.

Her mother also stepped into the room and stood beside her father in silence, but holding the bouquet of rose flowers which Nancy had seen with Charles earlier.

Her father yelled at her, "Answer me, Nancy!"

"Dad, that's not the kind of man I want to marry. I don't love him, and that's the truth," Nancy said, breaking into sobs. As Charles Alejandro wasn't the kind of man she wanted to marry.

She wanted a simple man who would love only her, and not a powerful man nor a cheat like Charles Alejandro who wouldn't value her, even though she becomes as his wife.

However, She was looking for the right excuse to make her parents to understand why she couldn't marry a man like Charles, or to become his wife either.

"Love?" Her father scoffed.

"What do you know about love, Nancy? You will grow to love Charles with time, just like your mother and I did. I cannot reject the Alejandro family's proposal, even though I know you will object to it. They are the rulers of the country, and they will feel extremely insulted if you reject their only son's proposal to you. As he saw a lot of pretty women before chosen you, Nancy Marlon. So you will have to marry Charles whether you like him or not," her father finalised.

"No, father! I cannot marry him!" Nancy screamed out again, bursting into tears, and unable to believe that her father really wanted her to force her to marry Charles.

Her father ignored responding to her, and turned to leave her bedroom. He paused at the door, and said to her mother, "Talk to your daughter, and get her prepared for all she will need to become Charles's wife. By this Saturday, she will go to the presidential villa to live with Charles, whether she likes him or not."
