I, Lyra, as the Luna of the Blackwood Pack, had spent five years restoring our declining pack to its former glory.

Tonight, at the celebration for our newly acquired territory, the Moonlit Forest, my mate, Kael, arrived, brazenly arm-in-arm with his pregnant ex-lover.

Kael's arrogant gaze fixed on me as he announced: "Lyra, your low-born blood makes you utterly unworthy to be the Luna. Now that Seraphina and I have reconciled, the child in her womb is the true heir. I hereby reject you as my mate and strip you of your Luna title. Get out!"

Without even lifting my gaze, I replied: "Kael, you have no right to strip me of my Luna title. I'll give you one last chance. Sever ties with her, and I will still allow you to remain my mate."

The hall erupted in laughter, mocking an Omega who dared to speak so wildly.

But I merely offered a faint smile, affirming, "You're right. I do have the right to speak wildly."

My words caused the noisy banquet hall to fall silent for a moment. Immediately, the guests burst into an uproar.

"Is Luna Lyra out of her mind? Without the Blackwood Pack, she'd have nothing today. What's she boasting about?"

"Why call her Luna Lyra anymore? She's just a cast-off Omega. Once her Luna title is revoked, she'll be nothing but a servant."

"If you ask me, Lyra, just humble yourself. Beg Kael. Maybe he'll let you be his mistress."

Amidst the jeers, Kael frowned, looking down at me with his characteristic superiority.

"Lyra, a low-class Omega like you shouldn't try to make threats. You don't have the standing! After all, without the Blackwood Pack, you are nothing."

I looked at his handsome face, twisted with scorn, and remembered the intimacy we had shared over the past years. A bitter taste filled my mouth.

"Five years of a mate bond, and you discard it so easily, even trying to drive me from the Blackwood Pack? Have you considered how you'll explain this to your parents?"

Kael's face hardened, his eyes flashing with disgust: "If you hadn't shamelessly flattered my parents, do you think you would have mated to me? What right do you have to be the Blackwood Pack's Luna? But we are ultimately from two different worlds. I can't stand living with you anymore. My parents will, of course, stand by me."

"Oh, really?" I smiled, crossing my arms, my tone even, "Perhaps not."

Seeing my confident demeanor, the guests paused, momentarily stunned.

"Luna Lyra seems so sure of herself. Does she have some trump card up her sleeve?"

"Speaking of which, the Blackwood Pack was just an ordinary pack before. Lyra took over these past few years, and its strength has multiplied several times."

"Indeed. Not to mention the Moonlit Forest acquisition this time, it has greatly enhanced the Blackwood Pack's strength."

As the guests gradually began to voice their praise for me, Seraphina couldn't remain calm.

She scoffed, looking at me disdainfully.

"No matter how capable, you're just an Omega. Once your Luna title is revoked, you'll be worse than a rogue. Get your identity straight; you're not like us, born with noble blood!"

I ignored Seraphina's venomous words, only seriously asking Kael: "Is that what you truly think?"
