Chapter 3

I dreaded going to school the next day. Naturally, I'm a quiet person so people use the opportunity to step on me. A lot of them pay me no mind but the popular girls do their best to step on my toes. I've been dealing with it for years so it's nothing I can't handle.

The only solution is to keep your head down and ignore them. They'll eventually go away. They're rich and their parents have high ranks in the pack so they can get away with anything. They basically do the same thing to everyone.

I want nothing more than to stay at home and cry my eyes out but Ann is there and I don't want to be around her. I've never been happier to come to school in my life.

I opened my locker to bring out my books. I just hope today will go by smoothly and that nobody will notice or disturb me. My heart aches heavily. I miss my mom.

Any time I'm in a bad mood, her hugs would always bring me comfort but she's not here now. I have to be strong for myself and for Logan.

It's so much pressure. I know I can do it though. She would want me to be there for my brother in her absence.

As I brought out my books, someone closed my locker from behind. I quickly removed my fingers. If not, they would have been cut off from the force.

I came face to face with Stephanie and her crew; Jasmine and Lola. These are the girls I was talking about.

"Hi Cathy" Stephanie smiled evilly "Nice sweater"

Stephanie is the ring leader of course. She's the Beta's daughter.

I opened my locker and continued arranging my books for class.

"Did she just ignore you?" Lola asked.

"I think she did" Stephanie said "I don't like being ignored, Cathy. You know that, don't you?"

I closed the locker and looked at her.

Stephanie is the most gorgeous girl you'll come across. She's pale skinned, blonde and has a curvy body. She wore the latest fashion designs. She perfectly fit the stereotype of a mean girl.

It's hard to hate her when deep down, I want to be her. She's so pretty that sometimes, it hurt to look at her.

She's perfect.

"I'm not in the mood" I said "I'm going through a lot"

"Awww" Stephanie put her hand on her chest "I heard. Your mom died. Sucks to be you"

Stephanie came closer to me and hit the books in my hand, making them fall to the floor.

"I'm in a good mood so I'll let you off easy" she said "Next time, I won't be so generous. Let's go, girls"

She flipped her hair and sashayed away, with her minions following behind her.

I let out a deep breath. At least, that's over.

I went to my first period which was Biology and took a seat near the window side. We might have practicals today. I just hope I have a nice lab partner or a quiet one.

I watched as students came in one by one, talking to each other. Soon, the class became filled with murmurings and chatter.

I sighed.

I wish I had a friend.

After everyone was settled down, the teacher came in.

"Good Morning class" she said.

"Good morning ma'am" we chorused.

"The topic for today is Reproduction"

Everyone laughed. I rolled my eyes at their childish behavior.

The woman dictated notes which we wrote down. The class went by smoothly until...

The door opened and a boy came in. I looked up at him.

I stared in awe. I couldn't help it.

A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips. He seemed confident and dominant too,

He had the most beautiful pair of brown eyes I had ever seen. I couldn't help but notice his chiseled jawline. The way his tousled dark hair fell effortlessly across his forehead added to his appeal.

My gaze traced his broad shoulders and muscular physique. He stood tall. His confident posture exuded how self assured he was which made him more charming.

He had a friendly smile and a positive aura.

I felt drawn to him in a way that I've never felt with any man. He's the most handsome guy I've ever seen.

All the girls felt the same way because a burst of giggles filled the room. All eyes were on him.

Suddenly, our eyes made contact and our gazes locked. My heart skipped a beat as I felt an unexplainable connection to him. I felt sparks immediately.

"Mate" my wolf whispered.

"Hello" the teacher said "Who are you?"

The teacher's voice broke his gaze from mine.

"I'm Tyler Anderson" the boy introduced "I'm new here"

His voice was so smooth. I could feel the tingles down my spine.

Tyler Anderson? We've been expecting him. He's the youngest Alpha in the country. His dad got sick so he had to take the role of the Alpha in his pack.

The news of his presence in battle travelled far, even as young as he was. Everyone has hear of him. He had one of the most feral wolves that anyone has ever seen.

His dad has some things to settle with our pack. That's the reason he's attending our school for the mean time.

The fits of giggles got even louder.

Damn, he's gorgeous! What good deed could I have done for the moon goddess to bless me with someone like this?

"Mate" my wolf, Ruby whispered again

"Don't start" I snapped.

"What?"

"He'll just reject us"

"You haven't even tried yet"

"I don't have to"

"Come on"

"I said no"

"Fine"

She shut me out at the back of my mind.

How can someone like this accept someone like me?

"Welcome Tyler" The teacher said "There's an empty seat beside miss Summers over there. Please sit down"

"Thank you"

Oh no. He's coming to sit beside me.

Our gazes locked as he walked towards me.

He sat on the chair next to me. I felt as if my breath got caught in my throat. I could feel my body stand at attention just because he was near me.

"Hi" he said with a charming smile.

He seems nice and it seems like he actually wants to talk to me.

"Um hi?"

It came out more as a question than a greeting.

I mentally slapped myself. Damn you, Cathy. You're so awkward and dumb.

"Way to go Cathy" Ruby teased.

"You're back again" I rolled my eyes.

"Don't screw this up"

"Oh, shut up"

I tried so hard to concentrate on the lesson but I couldn't.

Tyler had his eyes on me the entire time. He felt the pull too. How could he not?

Maybe he's deciding if he wants to reject me or not.

The thought of him rejecting me hurts but there's nothing I can do. It's bound to happen. I'm too pathetic for anyone to want to be with me.

The bell sounded, signaling the end of the lesson.

Ah, thank goodness. I packed my bag and ran out of class literally.

When I had gone a long way, I was suddenly pulled into a dark room.
