1 What If I Cant Control

Sixteen years ago…

Lily sat in her high school classroom, feeling restless and anxious. She had been having strange dreams lately, dreams of running through the forest on all fours, of howling at the moon. She couldn't explain why, but she felt like something was changing inside her.

As she walked home from school that day, she noticed a group of teenagers gathered in the park, all of them wearing black leather jackets and exchanging furtive glances. Lily felt a strange pull towards them, as if they were somehow familiar to her.

Suddenly, she heard a low growl coming from behind her. She spun around to see a group of large, muscular men approaching her, their eyes glowing yellow in the darkness. Lily felt her heart racing in her chest. She had never seen anything like this before.

And then, as if by magic, the men began to change. Their muscles bulged and twisted, their faces elongated into snouts, and their hands turned into paws. In moments, they had transformed into massive wolves, snarling and snapping at Lily.

But then, to Lily's amazement, another group of wolves appeared on the scene, led by a small, scrappy she-wolf with light brown fur. They stood between Lily and the vicious wolves, snarling and baring their teeth. The vicious wolves left as though threatened by the presence of the female alpha.

The wolves that were left transformed back into human form. Lily watched in awe as they shrugged off their fur and leather jackets, revealing normal clothes underneath. The she-wolf with the light brown fur walked up to her and introduced herself as the alpha of the pack.

"I’m Greta. We're werewolves," the alpha began, her voice low and ominous. "But don't worry, we're not here to hurt you. In fact, we've been watching you, Lily. We can sense something different about you, something special. We want you to join our pack."

Lily's heart raced as she surveyed the group of werewolves encircling her. How had she found herself here? She had always scoffed at the idea of supernatural beings, yet here she was, face-to-face with a pack of werewolves.

"Why me?" she stuttered, her eyes darting from one snarling face to the next. "I'm not a werewolf. Are you going to turn me into one of you?"

The alpha, a formidable figure with piercing eyes, stepped forward. "We don't need to bite you to make you one of us," she said, her voice low and steady. "You already are."

Lily's eyes widened in disbelief. "What are you talking about? I'm human."

The alpha regarded her with a mix of pity and curiosity. "You may have been born human, but look deep inside yourself. You will surely feel it.”

“I’m not sure what you are talking about.” Lily told Greta.

“That’s alright. I am just making sure you understand what’s going on inside you. I’ve been observing you as much I could sense you that your – what the people will call curse is starting to show its symptoms. If you need help, approach me. I will help surely help you. Alright?”

Lily's heart raced as she stared at the woman in front of her. Questions registered in her overwhelmed face. How does this young woman know?  Is she telling the truth? Werewolf? They are all werewolves? They went to school, how many are they?

Greta patted Lily on the shoulder understandingly, smiling at her. “All your questions will be answered in the process. But for now believe that I am telling you the truth. You will be at risk if you will not be careful. The moon is coming to a full and it will be pulling you to transform. Lily, there are so many things you need to understand about transformation. You have to come with me tomorrow night. Can you make it?” Lily nodded. But as she looked around at the other wolves, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Who were they? And why were they watching her so intently?

She turned to the alpha, her eyes wide with curiosity. "Who are those wolves that just left?" she asked softly, gesturing towards the group of wolves that had been watching her from a distance.

The alpha smiled reassuringly, sensing her unease. "Oh, that was Blake's pack," he explained. "They're just curious about you. And besides it is our duty to keep the werewolves society of Nashville safely secret. If the people will find out you are a werewolf because you cannot control your transformation or you were exposed to them when you harassed any of them when you are in that form, you endangers the society forcing us to fight for our lives. Right now, those over there were already thinking you're  part of my pack, so they will respect your decision and treat you as a rival, but not an enemy. And since they will consider you as one of their rival, you should be officially joining my pack. How about that?"

As she looked out at the pack, she felt a sense of belonging she had never experienced before. For the first time in her life, she didn't feel like an outcast. She was a part of something much larger than herself, and she couldn't wait to see where this new journey would take her.

With that, the alpha smiled, her eyes twinkling with excitement. Lily felt a rush of adrenaline as she realized she was about to embark on a journey she never could have imagined.

As they walked, Greta spoke in a hushed tone, "Lily, I know you're new to this, but you must be very careful. We can't let anyone find out about your condition."

Lily nodded, her heart racing with the weight of the responsibility she now carried. "I know," she said, "but it's so hard to control myself sometimes. I'm scared I'll transform in public."

Greta placed a reassuring hand on Lily's shoulder. "I understand, but you must try your best. The consequences could be disastrous if someone saw you shift."

Lily looked down at her feet, feeling the weight of her newfound identity. "What if I can't control it? What if I hurt someone?"
