Chapter 1: Anger
Present-day
"Kill him!" He gives his order as he turns to walk away from the bloody face of one of his betrayers.
No one dares to break the law of a Marcovic, or else life will be given away to the soil of the earth in just a blink of an eye.
"Boss...Boss please, Boss, please forgive me; I have a three-year-old child and a wife waiting at home for my return. Boss, please, I'm begging you, I'll pay you back in any way possible but don't take my life...."
A low rumble escapes from his mouth as he halts on the entrance; with a slow spin, he turns around with a cold killer glare that could pierce the soul of a man.
"Desmond, You stole my hard earn gold bar, and you're asking for mercy?" He slowly speaks with his high-pitched baritone that can freeze the earth.
"Boss...boss, mercy is all I ask for; please spare my life. Please, I have a wife and a child that wants me at home," He whimp in tears like a child as his noise runs out the disgusting liquid.
"Give me the gun if you can't do what I ask you to do, Jerald," He roars and instantly and flings the gun away from one of his workers. Without much hesitation, he shots on the floor.
With fierce eyes. "The only person that saved you now from me killing you is not your wife nor your child; you should give thanks to the moon goddess and also to the promise I made to my late mother," He hissed.
Watching the man panic is not enough for him. "Bo...boss, thank you, thank you very much!" He stammers in shock.
"Free him," He requested.
"Bu...but boss—" Jerald stuttered in shock because Boss Alonzo is not the type to forgive, he has never killed another with his own hands, but with the help of his right-hand man, Blanco, he has killed a lot.
"But boss...just like that? How am I going to pay you back, boss?" The man was known to be in charge of Alonzo's casino as the middleman in Russia. He Mumbled.
"Nothing." He replied sternly. "Go now before I change my mind," he added.
"Thank you, boss, thank you so much," Like a flash, he ran out from the underground torture room with all speed left inside of him.
Alonso looks back at Jerald; with his cold gaze, Jerald takes a bow.
Blanco rushed into the underground room looking precipitated. "Boss, Grandmaster wants you back. He ordered me to get your plane ready; we need to go back to your residence,"
"So soon? We arrived here in Russia just three days ago; I've been home with him since," He inquired, looking unimpressed.
"Yes, boss!" He answered back.
—
Arriving back at Italy, my home, as soon as Blanco and I entered the mansion, I immediately changed into some more comfy clothes.
I decided to head downstairs to see my grandfather. After all, he's my only Guardian that is still alive and well.
Reaching downstairs, Don Palumbo himself was sitting on his ordinary brown leather king chair with his lion head cane resting by his right side.
He was looking so lost. I couldn't tell what he was thinking because he blocked me from reading his thoughts. I read everyone's thoughts if I'm bored, but my grandfather is quite the opposite.
"Sit!" He ordered with his cold, wrinkled grey eyes. He rubbed his forehead stressful. I told him because he's the last person on earth that I will want to argue with.
"You called for me; why?"
"Did you kill the Russian Soviet Union middleman?" He asked, looking unimpressed.
"No, I spared his life and fired him. Is that why you made me fly down from Russia back to Italy?"
"No, There is this girl I brought home,"
"Okay...So, what does that got to do with me?" I rolled my eyes at him.
"I like her, and I want her to be your mate. You need to bond with her; you need a woman in your life. When was the last time you quenched your desire?"
"Are you being serious? Grandfather? This woman you claimed is my mate, and where is she from? What pack is she from? Will she be a great Luna for my pack? What family is she from?"
"I don't know for sure, but I found her at the seashore, she was laying lifeless; she doesn't remember anything, so I carried her home,"
I burst out laughing. "Grandfather, you must be kidding me, right? Did you bring a girl that was washed off to the shore for me to get married to? I'm an Alpha for moon goddess sake, grandfather,"
"I know that you are the Alpha. Okay, if you don't like her, why don't you take her as your slave first? Maybe you might learn to like her. What do you think?"
"Are you being serious? Someone you saw on the shore, why didn't you take her to the police so they can trace her family?"
"But I did; she didn't remember anything or how she found herself on the shore. She does not even remember her name or who she was!" He taps deliberately on his forehead.
"Where is she?" I asked, looking puzzled at him.
"In her room,"
"You've already given her a room?"
"Yea, I have,"
"I need to relax; I'm going to my room; tell lady Tanya to send her to my room in less than ten minutes,"
"I will call for her," His eyes Twinkies in harmony.
"Make her dress sexy to my room, and she better looks good in my eyes, or else I'll kill her right in the spot." I threatened. I stood up and sluggishly walked away from the likes of my grandfather.
—
A few minutes later, a knock was heard from Alonzo's door, but no reply. Lady Tanya, a forty-year-old woman, is the cook of the household; nobody else cooks the food to fit the taste of Alonzo apart from her.
"Please, when you go in, behave yourself and do everything he asks of you; you don't want to get on the wrong side of our boss. He will surely pick a name for you since you don't remember your old name," She announced.
"By the way, you have such lovely green eyes. You have a nice body; if you satisfy his request, then you might live to enjoy the rest of your life in luxuries and power," She added. "I like you; I pray he does too,"
The lady nods at her as she knocks on the door again. The door opens slightly.
"You may enter!" The voice was so emotionless and very foxy that it made the lady cringe, looking at lady Tanya with fear written in her eyes.
Tanya looks at the lady one last time before she walks in slowly, instantly, the door closed behind her. The next word she heard from the darkness that embraced her from inside the room.
"Strip!" He ordered, his voice cold.
Suddenly, the light to the room turned on with just a slap of his palm; her eyes landed on a man that was sitting solemnly on an office chair; he was backing her. The room is painted in beige; it's massive with a huge king-sized bed. The space was much, and the room's decor was on another level; there was a painting of a big black wolf on the front layer of the bed.
"I said, you should strip. I hate repeating myself. Didn't Tanya or grandfather educate you on my rules?" His voice remains cold but also calm and commanding.
"Why should I strip because you said I should?" She replies rudely.
Hearing this, there was a trace of the Russian accent in her voice. Alonzo recoiled in shock. No one has even gone against his command, but a stranger picked up from the shore is talking back at him. He slowly turns around, and her mouth agape by his angel's appearance. Without a second, Alonzo opened his drawer and brought out a pistol.
"How dare you violate my order?" He cracks the gun.
"Are you going to shoot me? Boss?" She acts scared. "No, you can't; you won't dare. Do you know why you can't kill me? Because the police already know about my whereabouts, and they know I don't remember anything, so if you make a wrong move, you might be arrested for murder," She boldly threatened.
"And you think a mere human can arrest me?" His frown tightened.
"What do you mean by a mere human? Ain't you human?" She looks a bit stunned at his angry face.
Alonzo looks down at her feet slowly, back to her face; she's tall, Light Skinned, curvy waist, black long wavy hair, green eyes, long dark lashes, small bump peach lips. She put on a black body hug sleeveless grown that reaches her knee-length.
Alonzo tries reading her thoughts but can't —Why? He slowly drops the arm that was holding the gun. How come? Why can't I read her reviews about what she thinks of me? I'm an Alpha, apart from my grandfather, who blocked me from always reading his thoughts. It was because he was once an Alpha like me, so he knows how, but for a human... It's unbelievable, or is it because she doesn't remember anything?
Alonzo bends his head slightly, looking hungry at her. "Are you going to strip or not?"
"Why don't you earn it, boss!"
"I hate sharp-tongued women; you don't deserve my earnings. I won't repeat myself; go on the bed. NOW!" He roars at her but still in a calm yet cold voice. His eyes immediately glowed in a flash second.
She quickly noticed his glowing eyes that instantly went back to normal. This made her dumbfounded, and the evidence of fear was traced in her eyes.
"Get on the bed." He repeats calmly.
Without much hesitation, she quickly pulled down her dress, revealing her body. Alonzo was instantly astonished at what he was seeing. It was a big lioness tattoo that was well drawn on her back. She had minor scars on her waist. This made Alonzo doubt who she was.
Who is this woman? What is she?
She was still putting on black lace pants and a bra. She looks so manipulated. She slowly climbs on the giant king-size bed. Alonzo strolls to the bed.
"Satisfy me!" He added as he sat closer to her. Then their eyes stop at the contact of each other.
She looks clean and has beautiful green eyes. He can't let a common woman get to her. She slowly wrapped her arm around his neck as she slowly sat on his lap.
This woman has no fear. She's too quick-witted. What if my enemies sent her as an improvisation of my death? I can't trust her since I can't read her thoughts; I can't trust her at all; I can't bond with her if she does not remember anything about herself or even her name. She doesn't have a name for the time being, so what should I call her?
Oh, should I call her my late mothers name? She's feisty like her and has the same eye color and skin color as her. No, I can't call a stranger my mother's name; she's a nobody, she's rude and needs to get punished for disobeying me.
"Taleela. This will be your name till you get back your memory, and if that ever happens, I'll make you pay every day of your life for accommodation,"
"Taleela? What kind of name is that?" She frowns.
"How dare you question me," He said Coldly.
"Okay, Taleela, it is," she quickly obeys as she slowly removes his necktie.
Immediately, his phone rings. He dips his hand into his pocket and brings out his phone, looking at the dialer; it's from Russia. His new mediator now runs his casino in Russia, Jerald Vladimir.
He picks up but slowly pushes Taleela away from his body back to the bed. "Vladimir?" He calls out at the end of the phone.
"Big boss, we can't seem to contact the leader of the Soviet Union in Moscow; the machine guns that were sent was paid for, but the Shotguns: they said the Shotguns are large-barrel long guns that fire a large amount of small steel or lead bullets that they want a refund for it,"
"Then make a refund for it," Alonzo said.
"Okay, boss," He hung up.
The minute he turns around to drop his phone on the bed, Taleela holds his chin to look deeply into his eyes.
"What is your job?" She strictly asked.
"How dare you touch my face? No one is permitted to touch me," this made him super angry as he slapped her arm away from his face.
"I sell human parts. You better not get me angry, or it will be your body part that will be getting ready for trafficking through the continent. Get it? It would help if you were thankful to the moon goddess for me being in a good mood this evening,"
She looks horrified at him, at his scary face; he seems creepy when angry. Something about him seems so frightening that she can't fathom it.
"Get out!" He yelled.
Taleela was still surprised at his temper—I don't think he's the type to be disobedient to. I need to be respectful, or I'll be thrown out from here.
"I said get out!" He repeats.
"Ye...yea...boss!" She stutters in fear as she quickly puts on her dress and rushes out without looking back.
