CHAPTERS 06

I checked my phone then continued texting.

Me : AT 6 :50 IN THE MORNING ? ARE YOU MAKING FUN OF ME BECAUSE I DON’T HAVE A CAR ? AND SINCE WHEN DO YOU DIMWITS WAKE UP THAT EARLY !!!

They didn’t reply, probably laughing their asses off because of my sudden reply to their annoying texts.

Vanessa : who’s gonna tell her ?

Me : Tell me what ?

Gemma : We were actually planning on going to the carnival at the park today, Nessa and Lily decided on who will be picking you up, and they suddenly started to ramble about the need to have your own car since you’re already 17. The carnival is the reason we’re up so early so please tell me you didn’t forget about it.

Lily : I wouldn’t be surprised if she forgot it, it’s in her genes to forget something, just like she forgot her own birthday last year.

The carnival ? It’s today ? How could I forget ?

Vanessa : I bet five bucks she forgot about the carnival…again. They knew me too well.

Lily : I bet too. She’s probably having a hard facepalming session right now. I slapped my hand on my forehead, literally.

Vanessa : I’m picking you up at eight. Oh and by the way, since you were asking, we made sure to talk on the group this early just to wake your lazy ass up.

Lily : I knew it would work ! FYI it was my idea so you better thank me later.

Me : Oh God, what did I do to deserve this punishment ?

When we ended our chat, it was already 7 am, so I stood up from my bed and started tidying it. After I finished I went to the bathroom to freshen up a bit, and then, I headed towards the kitchen to cook myself some breakfast, and by breakfast I meant milk and cereals, but not any cereals. Caramel and chocolate cereals…Just a small taste of heaven !

It was already 7 :30 am, I only had half an hour to get ready. I rushed to my bedroom and started searching for proper clothes to wear to a carnival, I decided on wearing some black jean shorts with a white V-neck shirt, I really love V-necks, and red vans, I also wrapped a red flannel around my waist in case it got a little chilly, and because I get cold even when the temperature is more than 50 degrees. I’m always cold, I don’t know why but I was born like this.

I let my wavy hair down and went downstairs to take my small handbag, but don’t be fooled, it’s big enough to contain every product a woman needs, including a pocket knife if I got in danger.

I took my keys from the plate on the table next to the front door and went outside as soon as I heard Vanessa’s honking car. I have literally forgot everything about yesterday, the wolf accident, Thomas, everything. I stepped out and turned back to lock the door, heading towards the car, I opened the passenger’s seat and sat down next to a smiling Vanessa. She greeted me while starting the car and we went to the park.

When we arrived, I was surprised it was crowded at a time like this ! I thought people liked to sleep, turns out I’m the only one to usually start my day waking up at noon.

As much as I hate being surrounded by people, I was still polite when I talked to strangers and always had a smile on my face, I seriously do not know why I was this kind to strangers. It will forever be a mystery.

Vanessa and I soon joined Lily and Gemma who were eating already. As soon as we approached them, they gave us two packs.

« Here, we bought you food too ! » Lily said enthusiastically, Vanessa accepted the food with no difficulty while I just hugged them and took my portion. It was different flavored donuts on a stick, my favorite, seeing as I’m indecisive so I rather choose them all instead of one.

We walked in the park, through different attractions, while eating the delicious donuts. I saw people from my school there, and I hated seeing people from my school in public. I did what I could to avoid them, I hid behind my friends.

My friends were not popular but they weren’t bullied either. Vanessa is chubby and has a beautiful tanned round and curvy body, she’s short with dark curly hair and black eyes, she has a bubbly personality with many talents, she’s friendly and everyone loves her, but she’s also very confident and can be bossy and annoying a lot of times. Also don’t be fooled by her pretty face and that facade she puts, in the end, she’s the cause of my self-consciousness and insecurities. An old friend of mine who had to leave the country asked why I was still friends with her. He was the only one that knew about this.

Lily is also curvy but she’s not round like Vanessa, she has a very attractive body with her blue eyes and blond wavy hair, she’s very kind too, she has issues with her family since her parents don’t care about her and her little brother at all but it didn’t affect her, she was shy and wasn’t confident, just like me but she’s oversensitive that it gets really annoying sometimes. Lily doesn’t have a talent or something special that concerned her, which makes us both the same, and that sort of reassured me, that I wasn’t the only useless thing in this life.

And Gemma, well Gemma is the sweetest of them all, she’s tall and a little round, she has a very thic and curvy bottom but her top wasn’t curvy so much, although she didn’t have a flat chest like mine. I swear I could go out without a bra under my shirt and no one would notice anything. Gemma had thick dark brown hair and brown eyes, she is the wisest between us and the nicest, she has a very friendly personality and she’s confident too. All three of them aren’t in the same class as me, they’re actually all together and I’m the only one in another class.

We tried a lot of games and went on a lot of attractions until it became three in the afternoon. My stomach started to grumble, and I needed food immediately or I would make the sounds of a dying walrus.

We went to a booth that sells some sandwiches, when I bought mine I waited for my friends to choose which one they wanted to eat so I started to open mine and began eating it.

God ! It was so good.
