Prologue: Kids

PROLOGUE

"WHERE ARE YOU GOING?" Allie asked Enzo.

He ignored her. The seven-year-old girl was left alone. But he did not budge. He still follows Enzo. He was her only friend, after all. It just persevered with him because he was sick. So even he endures Enzo even though it looks like a cyborg. They just quit.

"Where are you going, Renz?" she moaned here.

He turned to her slightly and resumed walking. She accompanied the man but his walking speed! She almost ran but because she was limp, she was not surprised when she suddenly stumbled.

Allie burst into tears especially when she thought that Enzo might have left her. So he was so shocked when he felt someone hold both his arms and help him stand up.

"You're too light," he said frowning.

Her crying got louder.

"'Do not Cry!" he said angrily, as if she was too bad because she was crying.

"But it hurts!" she said referring to the injured elbow and knee.

Enzo was blown away by the wind. "Fine. Hop in."

Astonished, Allie turned to the boy. It was already kneeling behind him.

"What am I going to do, Renz?"

"Pass on me. I'll treat you to mommy."

"Okay!"

Allie immediately passed Enzo. Allie smiled even though she had been crying lately. Enzo did not leave her.

"Thank you, Renz."

He just nodded. Later he gently squeezed her leg. "I'll always protect you. Because you are so clumsy. Iyakin ka pa."

"Okay. I'll protect you as well."

"As if you can. Stupid."

"'I will report you to Aunt Lily!"

"Whatever."
