Chapter 7 HER REVENGE
The blaring honk from her car made it so obvious. Bailey didn't need anyone to. tell her that the angel of sin had just pulled up at the penthouse.
"Hey, girl, I am here to save your day from that asshole." Wearing a bright smile, she burst into the apartment, with her energetic vibes.
"Why are you wearing that smile right now? Can't you see I am devastated? Also, how did you bypass the security after causing a ruckus?"
"Baby girl, I won't let anyone determine when or how I smile. Did you forget how drunk and funny I was at my grandma's funeral, the one person who loved me the most?"
"Oh, don't bring that up," she said and they burst into an uncontrollable fit of laughter.
Ava plopped down beside her friend, wrapping her into a tight hug, "Oh, darling, I am sorry you are going through this. That hot husband of yours is a total jerk and your dad, well, he is just double crazy. Oops, my bad."
"Why are you so good at finding the right words to describe people? And as for my father, he deserves more than that."
"I guess I should have been harsher then." she smiled as she watched a smile creep up Bailey's face.
"Here. I brought you this."
"What is that?" Bailey asked as she collected the box from Ava.
"Chocolate, your favorite. It will make you feel better, I promise."
"And for this, I will save it for the place we are heading to."
"And where are we going?" Bailey looked over at her friend suspiciously.
"To go get some fresh air. Honestly, you've been stuck in the house ever since you met this grumpy guy. For two whole days now. I don't like him one bit, except to shag him of course.”
“Before we leave, tell me what else happened that got you almost crying over the phone?"
"His father threatened to take his chance of succeeding him after he stepped down if he didn't deal with the mess he created."
"So? Did he use you to clean his mess?"
"No, not any of that, girl. He was frustrated and begged me to help him out. I agreed. His plan was for us to go out and let the paparazzi do their job just as they had done with the leaked photos. Once we portray a good image of a lovely dovey couple in the eyes of the public, the rumors will end."
"I still don't see a reason why you should cry over that jerk."
"That's not just it. He said to my face just after the whole acting at Brooklyn Bridge that he was going over to his mistress's studio. Who the hell does that? Tell me, Ava, just who?"
"Nobody but your husband, Carlos. Oh! Probably me too."
"I am serious, Ava."
"I am also serious here. He deserves a beating to treat you that way. Nobody messes with my girl and goes scot-free."
"Please don't try anything funny, Ava. I know you."
"Anything for you, girl," she said, a smirk curving up on the corner of her lips.
“So that's it? Listen to me, darling, you don't have to waste your tears on this kind of man. I wish you were like me, just living your life freely and having fun rather than being stuck in the house of a man you claimed you love."
Bailey just sighed because she also wished that was possible.
"Go get dressed, we are going somewhere."
"Where are we going?"
"This is not the time to sulk. If he can do it, why can't you do it?"
"Ava! Are you asking me to cheat on him with another man?"
"Oh please! I am not having any of your excuses today. You can call it whatever you want but all I know is, we are going out to have some fun."
"I can't..."
"We are going out this minute. Let me pick a dress for you." Ava dragged her up from the chair and up to her room to get dressed.
"Hold on, Ava! Won't this create another mess? What if I get caught and the paparazzi spread the news?"
"Does it matter anymore? If Carlos didn't care when he went out to meet his mistress, so why should you bother? It is time to also make him worry. He has been the one making you worry too much and oh, look at the wrinkles all over your face. It's just some days after your marriage and here you are looking so old already."
"Don't you even have something sexy? What's all this I am seeing here?"
Ava combed through Bailey's wardrobe and found a mini dress with a sexy split.
"This would do," she said and tossed the clothes to Bailey who was standing, still torn between her decision of going or not.
"Come on, girl! Let's get you out of that gloomy mood into the party spirit."
She dragged Bailey out of the house to her car after reluctantly putting on the dress.
"Party here we come."
"Yeah, party here we come," Bailey repeated after her.
"You're coming up, girl. That's the spirit. Forget about that jerk, your father, and all the problems you have. Loosen up yourself and I promise you will enjoy this."
"I have heard you but please focus on your driving. You wouldn't want to ruin this moment and ram us into another vehicle."
"I wouldn't. I graduated the best and my driving tutor is still ever proud of me.
"Here we are," Ava announced as they touched down at the entrance.
She dragged her in, navigating their way through the crowded and pulsating heart of the party.
"Ooh, looks like someone's caught your eye already." She followed Bailey's gaze and noticed the strange man who was staring at her.
"Hi sweetheart, I am Noah. What's your name, beauty?" the young man wriggled his way towards her.
"I am Bailey," she replied, after hesitating a bit.
"Well, would you like to dance with me?"
Ava left them and hurried off to enjoy the party.

"Guess who I just saw? Check this out, dude.”
A text notification popped up on Carlos' phone as he was about to get down to business with Vivian.
"What's wrong?"
"Hold on a sec, babe," he replied as he unlocked the phone to check the image attached to the text Miguel sent.
"What did he see today?"
"I just saw your wife. She seems to be enjoying herself."
"What! She dared to do this?"
Carlos' eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the image on his phone, his mind struggling to process what he was seeing. Bailey was wrapped seductively in the arms of another man.
