Chapter 9
Talia's POV
“Place your hands above your head rogue!" A female voice yelled.
My eyes bulged out as I slowly rose to my feet. Swallowing with much difficulty, I placed my hands above my head, my voice shaky, “I… I mean no harm,” I stuttered.
"Kneel!” She yelled.
Without hesitation, I lowered my body to the ground. Although curious, I dared not look back.
"Where are the others?!”
"I'm alone.”
"Melinda, yield.” A familiar voice said. A wave of desire embraced my being as a sweet smell filled the air. My senses tingled as my breaths became heavy. I know this feeling. This reaction. This scent. Xavier.
"Bu…"
“Alpha said to bring her in alive. Leave her to me, go get the food," he said, his voice stern.
With a loud grunt, she stomped her feet as her receding foot steps followed. Without a chance to react, strong arms swept me off the ground, holding my waist firmly. A pair of silver eyes stared at me. Worry and concern evident in his eyes. "Are you ok?” He asked.
Blinking repeatedly, I sprang my body away from his grip, arranging my dress properly. I shouldn't be all over him, he abandoned me. Hell, he's the reason why I was almost r*p*d and murdered.
"Talia…"
“Don't you even dare," I growled, turning to him. Fury embraced me as I took steps towards him. My fingers pointed, “How dare you?!"
“Talia, I can explain."
“Explain?!" I asked hysterically.
“It was for your own good."
“My good?!" I scoffed in disbelief. The nerve of this man. “Do you think it's because you're Logan's right hand man you can do as you please? Huh? Marking me only to sentence me to death! I'm sure you used that d*mn bond to locate me so you can finish what you started. Pathetic!”
"Talia, will you just listen t…"
“Hold it right there mister," I said, placing my index finger on his lips, “I never told you my name. We never even spoke. How did you discover my name?" I asked with an arched brow.
There's no use asking anyways. He's in Logan's pack for moon's sake. They have information about everyone and everything. “Ugh, nevermind." I said, drawing my finger back, “Now, if you'll excuse me. I’m leaving."
As I turned to leave, a strong hand grabbed my arm, pulling me towards it's direction. As our bodies collided, Xavier stared deep into my eyes, his hot breaths caressed my face softly. My heart skipped a beat as my senses grew weak. Sweat trickled down my back as my breath grew heavy. Our faces were but a mere inch away. My eyes fixed on his lips, heat clouding my judgement as I leaned closer.
I hesitated, trying my best to control my urge. What if it doesn't end well? What if I'm rejected again. I shouldn't feel this way about him. He's the reason I almost got killed. Inhaling sharply, I shoved him away, “I'm lea…”
A fluttering sensation cradled me as soft lips pressed against mine. I should fight back, right? Talia, fight!
Xavier wrapped his arms around me, pressing my body against his. He kissed me with hunger, one I could taste from within. I found myself wrapping my arms around him, my lips reciprocating the same movements as his. His hands explored my body as our kiss deepened, his tongue searching for mine as I felt my breathing seize slowly. My legs grew weak, making me lean toward him.
His grip was firm, holding me in place as he s*ck*d on my lower lip. The urge within me bubbled to greater heights as I dug my tongue into his mouth, my hands running through the back of his head as we s*ck*d on each other's tongues.
His hands found their way to my exposed thighs beneath my ripped dress, each touch sending waves of electricity through my body. His strokes gentle as he carried me from the floor. My legs wrapped round his waist as he placed me gently onto the floor. His lips traced my lips, navigating it's way to my cheeks. I let out a slight moan as his tongue went behind my ears.
His fingers caressed my breasts as I felt my body lighten up with an insatiable desire. His tongue slipped down to my neck as he s*ck*d my skin.
“Nghm," I gasped, his fangs sinking into my neck once more. My breath became heavier as my vision blurred. My senses tingled as I craved him even more.
What was this. I need to stop. I have to. This isn't right. But I want him. I need him deep inside me. Oh moon! What should I do?!
“Xavier?" A female voice called out, disrupting our moment.
Within seconds, Xavier got off from me, crouching down by the river side. I sat up straight, trying to ease my worked up nerves as I shook my legs from sleep.
“What's going on here?" A red haired lady asked, walking toward us with huge meat in her hands.
“Nothing Melinda. I was getting a drink," Xavier said, rising to his feet. Wow. He just acted like nothing even happened. Rising to my feet, I dusted my dress as I bit my lower lip.
“Uhm, let's g… What's that?” She asked, curious as her index finger shifted toward my neck.
"What? A bug?” I asked, confused.
Eating up the distance between us, she placed her hand viciously on the place Xavier marked me, "A mark? Xavier did you mark her?”
