Chapter FIVE

Max hissed harshly when he stared right into the wolf's eyes. Red blazing like molten lava against the golden rays of the sun, their irises dilated like feral beings.

Max had his arms outspread in order to create some sort of border between his leader and the large wolf. He had to crane his head back in order to reach its gaze. His white fur flicked and glinted against the moonlight gorgeously and a low rumble growl reverberated within its chest.. waiting to be let out.

"What the fuck."

Tyler swore under his breath to side of the entire situation. He was clearly taken back by the sheer size of the wolf, something they had never seen before.

Max's eyes refused to remove itself from the wolf, his pupils raking over the magnificent beast. It's black leather gums were pulled taut in order to reveal large teeth.

One bite could pull one of Max's arms clean off.

Max was slightly taken aback, so he couldn't hold back the slight fear blooming within his chest. His eyes narrowed, he hated this feeling, it had been years since he ever felt anything close to fear before and he hated it.

This night was proving to be a bad one for Hayden and Max — the two most composed males of the group.

So the females decided to step in. Bridgette stood up and her eyes fell onto the Pack's head Luna— Chase's mate. It was no love relationship, rather an obligatory relationship. Her name was Wendy and she was one of the most beautiful wolf women they had ever met. She stood in her white night dress, her Auburn curls falling behind her back gorgeously while her lips had a natural blood tint to them.

"Luna... Please, I assure you .. on behalf of my entire coven— we no nothing of the intruders entering your territory. You have to believe me, I speak from women to women." Bridgette spoke desperately, her eyes nervously darting toward her enraged lover and her endangered little brother.

Luna stared at her for a few seconds, Wendy averted her gaze toward Chase before walking forward. Her very aura demanded respect and that's precisely what she got...

Some would even say that her command was higher than the alpha... As she was the child bearer. The pack wouldn't be growing if it weren't for her strong womb.

"Connor... " The Luna placed her eyes onto the large wolf, her eyes soft and tone extremely gentle. The simple name had been spoken many times, she ordered the wolf to stand down.

The white wolf did not seem happy at all at this but he silently took a few retreating steps back. Max despite this, still stared at the whole scene... His eyes still sharp and alert.

The wolf slowly began to transform, snaps of bone cracking and breaking filled the air and the large being began to get smaller— sculpting itself into a human form. The fur retracted back, only to make way for skin. Paws were replaced with feet and hands, a snout made way for a nose and perfect salmon pink lips.

Unlike the white wolf fur— a black tuft of hair peeked through atop the males head.

Connor stood large and tall even in his human form, a pair of black shorts hugged his thighs and stopped a little above his knees. The edges were frayed and torn a bit. He was otherwise bare, beside the black roped, beaded necklaces dangling from his neck. His torso was considerably wide, along with his shoulders.

Impressive pectorals adorned his chest and dipped into solid abs— like 8 little defined hills. his V line was rather defined and dipped into his pants, his waist was relatively small... Making him all the more appealing. He was so perfect.

Max didn't know why but he felt quite winded at the very presence and look of the wolf that so dared to challenge him. The vampire had subconsciously raked his eyes downward and swept over every inch of the wolf's body, he noticed how thick the males thighs were and he noticed the prominent balled calves. Strong and flexing each time he shifted.

The two finally made eye contact again and he felt his breath lodge in his throat from the intensity of the males golden eyes. He hated this feeling.

Max didn't want to feel this way, so he turned away and distracted himself by slowly removing Hayden off Chase.

Hesitantly, Hayden allowed himself to be pulled back— but his eyes remained glued onto the alpha on the floor— as if encouraging him to make a move.

Chase, however, only lifted himself off the ground and stood his ground.

"I assure you Wendy, we have no idea as to who those vampires are trespassing into your territory but we will help you." Bridgette spoke too soon and she visibly felt her coven stiffen at her rash and sudden decision. Hayden remained quiet, he knew that it would only be wise.

"You're willing to help us? Wolves?" Wendy raised a perfect brow, her arms folded Infront of her.

"Yes, and we will bring them to you... This will prove that we have nothing to do with this... We could find out who these vampires are and help get rid of them. My coven consists of seven and only seven." Hayden's lover spoke confidently, her shoulders straightening a bit as if to prove her point.

Wendy stared at everyone for a few seconds. Her eyes falling on each face for the time being... As if reading their aura's and body language.

"Very well... My pack will be more than happy to assist you in bringing them in. Ofcourse, no harm will befall them... It's just for simple questioning but... If they feign threat to more of my kind... I'm afraid we're going to have to kill them." The Luna states coolly, her eyebrow raising again as she spoke in monotone and all Bridgette could do was nod.

"That is understandable." She spoke. After all, vampires were nothing like wolves... They held no relationship or bond to one another vampire stranger. If one of their own had to be killed for the sake of safety... Then they would do it.

"Since the attacks have been happening at night... I will grant permission for two of you to enter our territory to help along with my beta's for tracking. However, the granted permission does not permit you to do your own thing."

The coven slowly nodded,

"Should we start tonight?" Ada asked this time and everyone exchanged looks. Waiting for the wolves to give their verdicts.

The Luna looked at her alpha, both seeming to be communicating through mindlink.

In the meantime, Max's eyes had settled onto Connor, and he was definitely surprised to notice this wolf also staring at him. Max felt anger bubble up and he glared at the wolf, all he wanted to do was sink his teeth into the mutt and rip him to shreds.

Connor snarled and Max held himself back from charging over and tackling the larger male down.

"We start tomorrow." Chase spoke finally and with that, he walked back into his home. The vampires took that as their sign to leave.

Max took a hold of Hayden's large hand, getting ready to leave but looked over his shoulder one more time... In order to meet those fluorescent gold ones once more. His heart thumped suddenly and he quickly shook it off before they zipped back home.
