A rather quiet day had begun. There weren't really many customers so I had fun chatting with Alyssa from afar, by text. I raised my head from time to time to look at her and laugh at our text messages that only we saw.
A few customers entered the store, heading straight for the restrooms while a woman stopped for a coffee.
“A latte, please. »
" Sure. I replied, shaking my head.
I prepared his cup and handed it to him, telling him the price. She paid me and left the place. I took my phone out of my pocket in my waitress outfit and looked at Alyssa's latest text.
*You'll never guess who just walked in!!!*
*Who ?*
*Prince Andrew!*
I laughed and looked up to look at Alyssa who was waving as she pointed down the hallway leading to the bathroom. Seriously ? What would a noble and pretentious prince like Prince Andrew come to a rest area for?
I don't think that could ever happen. It would be unheard of!
*You do not believe me ? Yet I saw him enter!*
*Yes, I believe you but it's strange...*
*Of course knowing the reputation he has but hey...*
I smiled and put my phone away, a customer standing in front of me. I served him his coffee with sugar then I gave him back his change. The next person slowly walked over and looked up at me.
Oh.
Alyssa was right!
Prince Andrew actually stood before me!
Her mouth parted slightly, making her look even sexier than ever. This prince was one of the sexiest on this earth and he knew it. He used it extensively, by the way!
" Hello ! What can I get you ? I asked smiling.
He looks embarrassed and a bit lost in thought. He clears his throat and takes a light breath.
“Hello, um...I'm going to have a decaffeinated one. »
I nod my head in agreement and turn around to start brewing his decaffeinated coffee. Once I have him ready, I turn around so violently that he jumps. I put my gaze in his and hand him his coffee, specifying its price.
He pulls out his wallet and hands me two coins. I tap on my till and hand him a 50 cent coin.
" Present. He says before grabbing his cup and turning around to head out.
I follow him with my gaze until he stops in front of the door. He turns to me and gives me a wink. I'm frozen, I was so shocked by what just happened that I didn't move my position.
He finally comes out and I breathe.
Wow.
But what exactly just happened? I didn't really understand all that.
I lean on the edge of my crate and sigh. I hear footsteps approaching but I don't look up. I feel a hand land on my shoulder and look up at Alyssa, who smiles softly at me.
"Well then, did Prince Andrew disturb you that much?" she mocks gently.
“That was so weird, Alyssa. »
She nods, as if confirming my words.
“I know Scarlett. I watched the scene and felt like I was in a movie! »
I laugh softly, a little disturbed. Yeah, here it is. I am disturbed by this very strange meeting but I am reassured on the one hand because I do not risk seeing Prince Andrew again one day, so I am calm.
This feeling, as weird as it is, will not happen again.
At the end of the day, I go to greet Alyssa and find my things before joining my car. A few minutes later, I finally arrive at my house where my roommate is thoroughly watching television.
“Hi Scarlett! You had a good day ? »
I collapse on the sofa, next to him and sigh.
“It was, and you? You don't have the day to revise all the same? »
She shakes her head and points to the television.
“I watched television all day. For the trouble, I'm going to prepare food. What do I want to do? »
I shrug my shoulders.
" Very well. Then I would make pasta! »
I groan exaggeratedly and grab the remote control to change the channel. Obviously, I come across the Orchid Ball, one of the most anticipated balls of the year. Every year, all the royalty gathers there and invites movie and song stars from our country.
All this wealth is... annoying.
The first stars begin to arrive on the red carpet and pose in front of the many photographers. The flashes crackle.
Oh no.
I know him.
For having seen him just now in front of me. I know who it is.
Andrew, Prince Andrew just got out of the limo he was being driven in. He waves at a few people and smiles broadly, like he did in front of me earlier.
A noise makes me jump so much I was immersed in the arrival of Andrew on the red carpet. Laura has just placed two trays on the coffee table in which there is a plate filled with mash and ham.
Yes! No pasta.
I thank her silently and take my plate to start eating. Laura is a gossip, she loves the world of royalty and celebrities. For example, she reads magazines such as "Non-Stop People" and believes in all the rumors that this type of magazine can start.
“How handsome is Prince Andrew! I would dream of meeting him in person. I'm sure it's even hotter! »
Yes, it is. He is even more hot face to face, in reality, in real life rather than on this television to greet the personalities they meet.
I don't know if I should tell Laura about my brief encounter with Prince Andrew. I don't think she could go tell it to a magazine or anything but she might accidentally slip it into a conversation one day and that's what scares me.
I think I'll keep it to myself for now. Anyway, as I said before, it was a unique encounter so I'm safe to say nothing. I'll just forget his gaze on me.
Her stare. His nose turned up. Her rosy, luscious lips. His messy hair. His smile. His wink. His expression when he looked up at me.
Yeah, it was a unique and incredible encounter, which really disturbed me.
But it's not like in a mushy novel where the characters look at each other and fall in love. No, it's different there.
I'm sure that at this moment he completely forgot our meeting earlier.
Me, a waitress and him, a prince who spends his time dating different girls.
Frankly, I'm pathetic.
I take a breath and go to bed. It is better that I stop thinking about this person that I will never see again in my life.
Yeah, it's better for me.
