Chapter 6

I blinked repeatedly. Alpha Jax just...banished me.  It felt as if my heart dropped to my stomach.

"I-I don't understand" I whispered.

"You heard me" Alpha Jax said firmly "You clearly upset my Luna. I've spent years looking for my mate. I promised myself to take care of the woman of my dreams when I find her. If my Luna is upset, I'll remove every single thing that caused it"..

"But i-"

Trixie's sobs got even louder. She cried into Alpha Jax's shoulder, holding him tightly. I looked at her in disbelief. I prayed to the moon goddess that this was all a dream. I couldn't believe this was actually happening.

"You're not welcome here anymore" Jax said "You've been banished. You're not to ever step foot in Normia again. If you're caught, you'll be killed"

A knot formed in my stomach as I understood the reality of what was happening. I was being sent away, all in the blink of an eye. Because of Trixie's deceit. Surely, this was all just a dream.

"Please, don't do this. Let me explain" I said

Jax's eyes were cold "Explain what? There's nothing left for you to say. I don't want to hear it. My Luna doesn't want you here and I'll do anything to make her happy"

Trixie's sobs sounded again.

"Alpha Jax, please" I begged "When we first met, I felt connected to you. My wolf came alive. With the way you looked at me and treated me, I believe you felt it too. Just open your heart and see that Trixie is manipulating you"

I took his hand in mine "Don't you feel it?"

Trixie quickly removed my hand from his "He feels nothing! Because he's my mate. Why will he ever feel anything for you?"

"Bring out the orb then" I said "I can prove that I'm not lying. If I touch the orb again, I'm sure it'll glow"

Trixie scoffed "Your desperation irritates me. I thought you would have changed by now. You've done this ever since we were kids"

I turned to Jax "Alpha Jax, listen to me. Please, bring out the orb. I'll touch it and you'll see that I'm telling the truth"

Jax shook his head "You know, Trixie warned me that you might come here to make these claims. She told me how deceptive you are. I doubted it a little because I believed you were a nice girl. Now, I can see that she's telling the truth"

"Trixie is lying!"

"Enough! I've made my decision and it's final."

Before I could protest further, he raised his hand, signaling to the soldiers standing nearby.

"Take her away," he commanded.

Panic gripped me tightly as the soldiers moved towards me. Everything was happening so fast and all at once. Two of the soldiers grabbed my arms tightly.

"No, please!" I cried, struggling against their hold "Alpha Jax, listen to me!"

But my pleas fell on deaf ears as they dragged me away. The sound of my own sobs echoed in my ears. I glanced back at Jax. He didn't even give me a chance to explain.

"Trixie, please," I called out "Tell Alpha Jax the truth"

Trixie held on to Jax tightly. Her eyes glistened with tears. As soon as Jax turned away his face, she smiled evily at me. I felt chills run down my spine at the sight of her.

How could I have been so blind? How come I didn't see the signs? I thought Trixie was the only person I could trust in my life. She and I had been friends for years.

What did I ever do to her? Why did she do this to me?

I felt betrayed and heartbroken. Trixie had deceived Jax and she had gotten me banished. Asides that, she stole my soul mate from me.

The darkness of the night enveloped me as the guards dragged me away. I didn't bother to struggle with them. It was no use. They were stronger than me and their Alpha had given them an order. I looked at the road ahead of me. I felt numb. I couldn't believe it. In a split second, I was banished... For no fault of mine. Just like that? Normia was my home. Where would I go now?

"Trixie..." I whispered.

The guards showed no mercy as they dragged me home. There were three of them and one of me. One of them twisted my wrist. I cried out in pain.

"You think you're clever, don't you?" he sneered "You want to be Luna so bad"

"Women" one of them laughed "Every one of them wants to be queen"

"Enough!" one of them said "She's been banished. What more do you want from her?"

"Buzz kill" one of them muttered.

I was surprised that one of the guards stood up for me. He pulled me away from the grip of the others and helped me to walk.

"I'm Chavez," he said "You might not know me but I'm Ken's friend"

No wonder he was being nice.

"Thank you" I said.

He patted my back comfortingly "I'm sorry about what happened. Don't worry, it's going to be okay".

I nodded. I was unable to speak. What do I say in a situation like this? A few hours ago, I was lying down in my bed and now, I'm being banished. How did this happen?

The journey back home was a silent one. When we got to my house, we met Ken outside.

"Lina!" he said "I've been looking all over for you. What's going on?"

I turned to him. I couldn't bring myself to say anything. I just let the tears fall. Ken held me in his arms and comforted me.

"What happened?" he asked me.

"I-I don't know," I whispered

"Ken," Chavez said "She's been banished. That's why we're here"

"What?!" Ken shrieked "What the hell happened?"

Chavez explained the whole situation to Ken. I just stood there with my face in my hands, crying my eyes out. I couldn't describe how hurt I felt about everything.

"I'm sorry" I said to Ken

"Don't do that. This isn't your fault. Trixie's my girlfriend and your best friend. How could she do this?"

"I don't know" I sobbed.

"I'm coming with you"

I looked at him in surprise "What?"

"You're not going alone. Whatever happens, we stick together. I'm coming with you"

"You'll never be allowed in this pack again" Chavez said.

"Then so be it. She's my sister"

Ken took my hand and led me inside the house. With tears in my eyes, I went to my room and packed all the things that I could into two suitcases and a bag. Before leaving, I looked at my room one last time. It was my safe space. I would miss it. Ken was done as the same time as me. We left the house together with our things. We looked at our house one more time before leaving. It felt as if someone literally pulled my heart out of my chest. It all seemed surreal to me.

"We'll be fine, Lina" Ken said to me "Don't worry. Trixie can stay with Alpha Jax. They fucking deserve each other. He didn't even give you a chance to explain. He banished you just like that? I can't believe I loved that girl. I didn't see how vindictive she could be. The signs were there. I- Fuck! "

We walked to the pack gates. The guards ushered us out. Ken and I walked out of the gates, out of the pack's safe territory. We were rogues now.

With tear filled eyes, I watched as the guards closed the gates behind us, locking us out of Nomia forever.
