Chapter 7
I stared at the dress in front of me. It was a shiny bright blue sleeveless dress, tight on the upper part and free from the waist down. It stopped just at my knee. The back was open up to my waist with a large rope that could be tied into a bow at the center. Following it was a glimmering silver mule heels and a silver necklace with a diamond pendant, to match with an earring.
Roberto had had the tailor send it in in the morning. The dress was two, one a body hug from bust to knee, the other, the one I picked was the flair. Roberto said the blue color matched with the color of my eyes.
Roberto. At the thought of him, I smiled. Since two nights ago when we had sex, we skyrocketed into unending bliss.
A knock sounded on the door and I stilled. Who could it be?
"My Queen". I smiled. Roberto.
I opened the door, all smiles.
"Your Highness". I shifted to the side so he could gain access to the room.
"You're still not dressed. Having problems with fitting it in yourself?" A smile was etched on his face. I blushed.
"I could help you yunno". I blushed more.
" That'll be wonderful".
He picked up the dress carefully.
" This is beautiful. Agatha outdid herself this time. But what can I say? It's perfect for the Queen".
He squatted and held the top of the dress open for me. I stepped into it and he pulled it up, with tenderness. The smile had still not left his face as he carefully pushed my hand through the armhole and then adjusted it to my shoulder.
"How come you're so feared? Cause since I came here, you've been nothing but kind". I smiled as he tied the rope at the back into a large bow.
"I really don't think you want to know My Queen". He smiled and pecked me on the lips before leaving to get the necklace and earrings.
"I want to".
He took in a deep breath and fixed the necklace securely around my neck. I watched his every action through the mirror. His hair was pulled back into a neat bun. He looked really handsome.
"My people need to fear me else a lot of things will go wrong". He came forward and put the earring in my ear, gently fixing the stud behind it.
"But I'm among your people now right?"
" No. You're my wife. My Luna. My Queen. My people are my subordinate but you're my equal". I smiled and he pecked my lips.
" I think you're very much fine this way. Do you still need makeup?" I thought about it. Did I? I don't think I did.
"Whatever you want is fine by me".
He pushed me to the chair in front of the mirror and began packing my hair before applying light makeup to my face.
"And where did you learn this from?" I was beside myself in surprise.
" My mother. Used to show me how to do it in my spare time. Told me it'll be needed when I get married". I smiled as he put the finishing touches.
"There. All good".
"It's beautiful". I gave him a light peck on his lips.
He led me to the bed and made me sit. Slowly and with great tenderness, he helped me put on my shoes.
"With the way you're taking every action slowly, we'll be late". I chuckled.
" The King is never late".
He smiled and stood up, stretching out his hands. I grabbed it and he pulled me up.
"You look so damn beautiful I want to take you right here". He moaned into my neck.
" It can wait. We have an event to grace. What will your subjects say?" His breath tickled me.
" It can wait. My need can't".
I chuckled and pulled him away slowly. Looking up into his eyes, my face broke into a wide smile.
"You look like a teddy bear. We'll do this when we return". I pecked him on the lips and he nodded.
We linked hands and walked out of the room. A black limousine was parked outside, waiting for us. In front and behind were 5 cars each.
"Why are there so many cars?" I was really surprised and slightly uncomfortable.
"They're my entourage. You have to get used to going out with them". His hand was on the small of my back.
"I guess I have a lot of adjustment to do". I smiled sheepishly as he led me towards the already-opened car.
"Thank you". I smiled at the chauffeur who looked horrifically at Roberto and then back at me.
"You don't thank the staff. They get paid after all. So it's their duty". Now I can see why he's feared. He doesn't even relate with anyone.
The ride was swift, thankfully, cause it was really boring having to watch Roberto focus so much on his phone without even sparing me a glance.
"Roberto". I called softly and he nodded, not looking away from his phone.
"How about your father? I've not heard you mention anything about him".
He stilled and slowly lifted his face. It was contorted in fury. His jaw was locked, his eyes cold.
"Don't you ever mention my father again". I almost peed myself.
Maria had told me Roberto and his father didn't have such a good relationship but I never knew he hated his father so much. He went back to his phone, not even sparing me another glance and I sat in the car, biting the insides of my mouth and regretting my urge to ask that question.
I don't know what it was that happened between him and his father. Maybe there was more to what Maria had told me. But I was adamant, I was going to make sure he opened up to me. Someday, somehow.
