Chapter 7
Joanne was restless while driving. It still hardly sinks into her brain that one of Chad's new boarders is none other than Marcus Cho — her ex-boyfriend! He wants to talk to Chad right away and ask him if he planned it or if it was just a coincidence. Of all places in the world, why in his boarding house?
Marcus sat in the passenger seat while his two companions and friends Jerome and Nathan — Nate Kim — were in the back seat.
The pain in his heart suddenly enveloped him when he remembered what had happened earlier at the airport. If he acted it would not seem to know him. He knew that despite the past seven years nothing had changed in his appearance. Is he just so angry with her that she forgets him? Or is he just too angry to act like he is unknown?
He knew he had hurt it before. But if it hurt, he felt twice as much pain.
Its okay, Jo. You did the right thing seven years ago. He consoled himself. That was his recurring mantra in his mind every time the memory and pain returned to his heart — that he had done what was right and proper. But it still really hurts.
“Hey, Jo, who owns the boarding house? We did not talk to him. "Our manager." He was shocked to hear that question from Jerome from behind.
The red light was right so he looked at Jerome in the backseat. "Chad Advincula, my—"
He did not finish introducing the friend because suddenly the man next to him spoke.
"Go on."
He started the car. He did not know what Marcus' problem was because his mouth was so tight.
He hates your presence, Jo.
The wind blew him away. It hurts when you see a man hating you with a big gap in your heart and you know you are also the reason why he treats you like that.
“I missed the Philippines. A lot of change. ” Nathan said in the back.
“Yeah. It’s been seven years already so a lot will really change. ”
“In just a few days, a lot can change. For another seven years? ” Marcus said disdainfully.
She feels it makes her sound.
“Sabagay. But there are also many good changes, Mac. ”
Mac… Only his closest friends call him that nickname.
He scoffed. "I don't think so."
"Stop being such a baby, Mac!" Jerome's teasing here.
He heaved a deep sigh. "Whatever."
He stopped smiling as he talked to his friends. It is undeniable that the trio have been deeply involved. After all, the whole Sapphire Blue — the band that Marcus belongs to in Korea — is g these three form a mini ballad group there, the K.R.Y. Why K.R.Y. the call no one knows except these three.
"Are we there yet?" he heard Nathan anas in the back.
"Coming soon." he replied.
"You act like a five year old brat, Nate."
He was still shocked when he heard Marcus' voice up close. She still can't believe that the man she was just looking at on the internet is now next to her.
