Chapter 3
Peter's brow tightened completely as he didn't pick up, letting the call ring until it hung up automatically.
The next second, Trevor's call came in.
"Peter, Miss Rutherford is here, downstairs, clamoring to see you."
Trevor had done his job well, and if it had been anything unusual, the other party would not have called to interrupt Peter when he came to see me.
The odds are, this time, Andrea made a lot of noise.
Before Peter could speak, there seemed to be sounds of conflict coming from the other end.
It took a moment before Trevor said, "Miss Rutherford went up, and it was my mistake to stop her."
"Get your own punishment."
"Yes."
Peter didn't say much, hanging up the phone and getting straight up and starting to get dressed.
I sat on the bed with my head hanging down embracing the covers and pretending to be downcast.
"Don't be upset."
He buttoned up his shirt, and when he saw me like this, he eased up and kissed me on the forehead.
"Did you spend all the money in that card I gave you? I'll put another amount in later, you can buy whatever you like, let ...... Trevor accompany you, don't get too close to him, you know, I don't like it."
His gaze into my eyes, as if with the power to see into everything, I breathed chaotically for a moment, then recovered as normal, smiling sweetly at him, "I know."
There was already a violent knocking on the apartment door, and the woman's voice was shrill as she haunted the outside, "Peter, I know you're in there with that bitch! You ......"
The rest of the other man's words came to an abrupt end with the pulling open of the door, and Peter was filled with a murderous aura that startled the other man.
Half-draped in my robe, not at all hiding the ambiguous hickeys on my shoulders and neck, and even intending to give the other man a glimpse of my bare thighs, I crossed over to the man and locked eyes with Andrea.
The woman's murderous gaze cut through me inch by inch, and I didn't care, even ruffling my long, cascading hair.
The hair was lifted, and those deep and shallow marks were even more visible.
My opponent's teeth clenched, but I smiled at her with secret amusement.
"Why don't you come out without a pair of shoes."
Noticing Andrea's gaze, Peter turned back to me, his tone seeming condemnatory but actually harboring concern.
"This is going back, I want to go out by myself in the afternoon, do a beauty treatment, UnrequitedLove recently came out with a new bag, the mall is still out of stock, will you buy it for me?"
I ignored Andrea, whose fists were clenched next to me, and tilted my head toward Peter.
"Yes, I'll have someone order it overseas, go back and get some more sleep."
With that, he leaned over and kissed me, and I stood on my tiptoes to return the kiss.
Obviously a touch of light kiss, on the contrary, in this difficult atmosphere looks particularly lingering.
"Go."
He took the first step out of the room, not even sharing a glance with Andrea, and headed straight out.
Andrea bit her lip and stared at me dead in the face for a few moments before hurrying after Peter.
"Peter ......"
"Told you not to call me Peter!"
"As your fiancée, I can't even call you by your first name?"
"That's not a name you should be called."
"It's not me who should be called, so who should be called! Is it the short-lived Nicola? Or is it this know-san-dang-san double you've found?Peter, Nicola's been dead for four years, will you wake up!"
These words are no less than stirring up a hornet's nest.
The slightly closed door of the room couldn't stop the sound of a heated argument outside.
Although the Rutherford family is not as powerful as the city's two leaders, as a century-old family, the Rutherford family's heritage is still not to be underestimated.
Peter's choice to get engaged to Andrea was nothing more than a run at a strong marriage.
He'd told Andrea long ago that a union was a union, but it was fine for each side to play their own game.
However, Andrea is devoted to him and wants to make love to him under false pretenses, not realizing that he hates this kind of dainty worldly girl the most.
Not to mention the fact that she had a hand in Nicola's murder back in the day.
Peter would have kept the engagement under wraps if Andrea hadn't come to Nicola's door and verbally abused her.
Nicola is so devastated that she leaves the home Peter has arranged for her and decides to run away, which allows the kidnappers to take advantage of the situation.
That's all, and Andrea is under the delusion that Peter will fall in love with her?
It's a dream.
I gently closed the door behind me and leaned my head back against the door of my room to think back over and over again to the look on Andrea's face earlier.
Tsk.
It's really, really wonderful.
Some people are already getting antsy, perhaps ......
The show is about to begin.
