Summary
My name is... ... Actually, that doesn't matter. You can call me whatever you want. Men call me by all sorts of names. In the end, they're only looking for one thing from me—something their wives can't give them. I go by Lucy. I'm just an ordinary girl who's been through a lot in life. I don't have a love life; in my line of work, love is just an illusion. Or so I thought, until someone came along and turned my world upside down. He showed me heaven and the stars, but I had never trusted in love. Not until I finally saw it embodied in one person: my daughter. And I will protect her from all the wolves that come after her. But let me tell you how I got here.

For me, life really began when I was ten. We were just your average three-person family. Dad had a steady job, Mom didn't need to work, and as far as I could tell, they were completely happy. At night, it was a whole different story—I'd constantly hear Mom screaming from their room. Something told me it wasn't a bad thing, though, since they always looked blissfully happy the next morning. Only once in a while would Mom wake up in a foul mood.
My life went by without any real drama. When I turned fifteen, I chose to celebrate by taking a trip to the beach with my best friend, Alicia. It was a beautiful vacation, just the two of us. A bunch of guys tried to hit on us, but we told them to get lost. That weekend, it was just her and me against the world.
A few months later, tragedy struck. My father was killed in a horrific car accident. He slammed into a semi-truck and was crushed, dying instantly. It shattered both of us.
After he was gone, we felt completely alone and unprotected. The company he worked for sent Mom a payout check, which should have kept us afloat for a few months. At least, that was the plan. But then Mom met this woman, and she started spending less and less time at home. Whenever I did see her, she was talking complete nonsense. It didn't take long to figure it out: she was using drugs.
Things around the house began to vanish. She’d only give me just enough cash to buy groceries, but sometimes it wasn't enough. Alicia helped me out when she could, but I hated feeling like a burden to her.
"Mom, why are you doing this?" I asked her one day.
"Sweetie, you don't understand the pain I'm in," she said. "The massive void your father left inside me. I'm a woman with intense needs, and this is the only way I can feel alive again."
"But Mom, what about me? I'm your daughter," I pleaded. "Lately, I feel your absence way more than Dad's."
"You just don't get it, but you're growing up. Soon enough, you'll find out what it's really like to be with a man. You'll fall in love plenty of times, and you'll cry over every single one of them. But only one will make you feel truly special—the kind of guy who treats you like a princess in public and like a bitch in bed. I know you must've heard me back then. I’ve never been one to hold back a good orgasm."
"What are you even saying to me, Mom? Why are you talking to me like this?"
"Oh, don't act so innocent. I'm sure you've already rolled around in bed with a few boys yourself."
"For your information, I'm still a virgin! I don't even recognize you anymore," I snapped. "Ever since you started hanging out with that woman, you've been doing drugs and sleeping with God knows how many men!"
"At least two or three a day," she fired back. "And none of them can compare to your father. He was a stallion. Packing heat. He drove me absolutely wild every single time he took me."
"Shut up! Have some respect for him!"
I spun on my heel and stormed out of the house.
