CHAPTER 3

THE REJECTION

SHEILA

I was so blinded all this while that I didn't realize the thick frown that was hanging on his face all this while and his hands were clenched with anger.

" But." I wanted to say but he would not allow me to spit out a single word out of my mouth.

" How can I even be mated to a killer and a cursed she-wolf like you." He shot at me with so much anger in his voice.

I shivered hard as he held my hands tightly. Leaving a red line around me.

" Do you think that you can kill me like you did to all your previous mates? Make me your next victim?" You certainly have to be a joking fool." He growled at me, pushing me away.

" I Gamma David rejects you as my mate." He shot at me.

The words seized my breath and I could hardly breathe.

It was as though for a moment, my heart stopped beating almost immediately and I could hardly feel my head...

A strand of tears escaped from my eyes slowly as I stared at him walking away from me.

For the third time, I could feel the bond shattering right in the inside of me.

But this time, it was different because it was not a death scene, it was a total rejection.

I could feel my wolf howling and growling inside of me as memories of the past gushed through my head almost at the same time and it seemed as though my brain was going to tear apart into fragments.

I could not stand anymore and gradually, my vision began to blur so badly that the only thing that I could feel before me was a thick fog and dark memories of the past.

I could hear voices and yells all around me but I could not tell what was happening and soon, I passed out, crashing slowly to the floor.

I eventually woke up in what seemed to be like a million years. My body ached all over and I could feel the pain stuck up to my spine.

I opened my eyes slowly and I stared at the surroundings for a while. I was confused. I was not at home nor was I in any place that seemed familiar to me at first glance.

Waiting ceiling. I was about to place two and two together and I noticed that I was in a hospital.

I was really confused as to how I even got to that place. The only thing that I could remember was me passing out.

I kept staring around for a while, yelling as hard as I could to get the attention of someone that was going to tell me what was going on.

And my efforts finally paid off. I heard a cracking sound from the door and when I turned around to see who it was, I noticed that it was one of the nurses.

She walked gradually towards me and tried to calm me down but I was not going to listen to anything until someone told me what was going on there.

" What is going on? What am I doing here?" I inquired.

" You have been in a coma for a while now and you will have to calm down." She announced it to me.

" A while?" The way that she said it, it seemed to be for a long time now.

" How long have I been in a coma now?" I could not help but inquire.

" A year I think from the time that you were rushed here." He returned to me.

I could not believe it but it was the truth and I had to deal with it.

Soon, I got off from the hospital and I returned to my Dusty home. But I realized that I could never have a normal life in the pack anymore.

I had to go somewhere else to start life afresh again.

It was not to be an easy task and I already knew that.

I sold off most of my properties. I was damn sure that the whole pack was happy that the curse she-wolf was finally leaving the pack

I cried as I walked away from the pack never to return. Soon, the sky turned dark and large droplets of water shifted down from the sky slowly, soaking me to my skin but I didn't stop.

I finally got to the large settlement made up of different supernatural beings but mostly humans.

Reddey city.

It was a weird place for me but I was determined to live life to the fullest but I never knew that I was going to find love again.

But there was just one little problem. There was no room for that in my heart anymore. I was already tired of tragedies.

I was fully settled with the money that I brought to the city. I had gotten a home for myself, and foodstuffs that were going to last me for almost a month.

But after those were gone. How was I going to live in that place?

I had to find a job as soon as possible or I was going to be starving here.

While I was walking through the street, I noticed that there was a vacancy post in a hospital close by so I won't always have a cab to go to work...

I was going to apply for a job there. But the problem was. I didn't have any CV to start with.

I was told that those used in my part of the world were different from those here.

I sighed briefly. But I had to give it a try. If I didn't want to starve to death in a strange city.
